Its not just show off, sometime we don't have an option...like in my case my kids call my mother Ammi because thats how i call her , my mum in law is their Amma because thats how my husband call her , so to avoid confusion ....for me it was only Mummy that i could sign myself to because i don't like the sound of "Mummaa" that every other child call their moms in Pakistan.
