In this video I have talked about the stability of infinite slope without seepage and with seepage taking place. I have also talked about the stability number and the different factor of safety such as with respect to cohesion and internal friction.
Hello everyone, hope you liked the video. This is an educational platform set up IIT Bombay Graduates with an aim to prepare you for competitive exams like GATE, ESE, etc., and to widen your knowledge in Civil Engineering.

I think this is the best channel I have come across lately. Keep up the good work guys and thank you for your efforts.
Thanks Shraddhesh :) Hope you have checked our website too where we have a lot more to offer :

Thank you so much... This is so helpful ,in just 21 min. You taught so many things..keep it up . Love your channel.
Glad you love APSEd @Mithlesh. Keep watching this space and stay subscribed for more videos. Feel free to have a look at our website learn.apsed.in for exclusive courses covering full syllabus of Civil Engineering.
It's one of the best channel to study..But the main factor that's distracting is the hand writing. If possible please try to figure out this which will be benificial for all the students. Thanks for the clarity.
Do check our latest videos :)
your speed is like 21 den mein paisa double.. yet so simple and comprehensible!!! Glad..
Glad you liked the lecture. Would suggest you to pause and reflect on the concept taught then move on the next part of the video to enhance the learning experience. Stay subscribed and keep watching this space for more videos
Thank you sir. Understood the concept
Thanks u so much , this video helped me so much
Love this channel thanks for explaining thoroughly
amazing video !! thanks sir
Best lecture available on TH-cam
Thanks Avdhoot. Hope you have checked our website where we offer more courses with doubt support : learn.apseduverse.com
great work man god bless you..... you r doing a great job
+lovepreet singh Thanks
Thanks guru......
Sir, the water table you mentioned is parallel to slope. does it happen because in earthen dam the phreautic line is not like that sir?
A canal with depth 7 m and side
slopes 1:1 has the following
properties :
cohesion 10 kN/m2, angle of
internal friction 20, voids ratio
0.6 and specific gravity 2.7.
Stability numbers for a slope 1:1
with angle of internal frictions 20
and 10.3 are 0.062 and 0.125
respectively. Factor of safety of
the slope with respect to cohesion
when the canal runs full is ?
answer factor of safety = 2.2 sir can you give data ad farmula how to solve this question?
Thankyou sir
What about cohesive slopes with seepage when h is different from z?
Sir please explain the term mobilized...
good one bro keep it up
thank you so much sir your videos are really helpful
That's good to hear Babita. Do let your friends also know about the channel.
I have already told them to watch your videos
That's great :)
@Rajat Verma 😂😂Tu v Ladki Ki id bna le
in the case of seepage, you are taking unit weight as a (Gamma) for whole height, which is not true... soil will have different value of (Gamma) above and below the water table.
At 7:41maximum angle of internal friction is not mobilised- what is the meaning of that please explane it
At 9:27 in submerged condition u have taken bulk unit weight but u have to take saturated unit weight I think please correct if I m wrong
i think up to (z-h) depth it would be bulk unit wt of soil and after then we have to consider saturated unit wt of soil.
Yes!
We have to use saturated unit weight in the calculation of shear stress
it is the average unit weight because there are two condition exist up to depth h bulk unit weight saturated and (z-h) is dry soil mass .there is formula to calculating the avg unit weight.
Thsnks
sir where r u post the new video on fluid mechanics
hindi me bhi video banao soil stability ka
9:27 what is gamma here?... saturated or average pls clarify
I think it's Saturated
On sudden drawdown why slope fails.
Even effective stress is increase...
Is it helpful for ssc je
Yes indeed
Sir pen copy me smjhate toh jada better hota
At 9:25 why did u decrease the normal stress
The normal stress which is taken here is effective normal stress and effective stress is given as total stress-pore pressure.
APSED thank you so much sir
And why u take phai' instead of phai.
you are getting 95% traffic from india so why not teach in hindi..jo maza hindi mei hai wo kisi aur mein nahi..
Because not everyone from India knows or understands Hindi. Thanks for understanding.
gama sub merged in u have to take
Sigma z value is should be getting divided w by area...i. e b should be eliminated... Plzz don't give wrong information
Bhai gaali likhne ka mann kr raha hai bohhot saari
Padhata accha hai par bhai likha acche kar tu
Tau ko z z ko tau bol rahe ho yrr
bhai tu bol hindi raha hai to likh urdu ku raha hai?
unlogical lecture👎
Kya bhangar writting hai...
haha ...
