As a bit of a world traveler myself ahem... i would also recommend Besalu. Beautiful historic town with a bridge at the entrance. Great place to escape the crowds.

I’m looking to go to Barcelona in the fall and the Dali museum is on my bucket list to see. Can you recommend any tour companies that does the Dali museum?

@@lushvalley we went without a tour company - if you can find one, I’d recommend it. It’s a little tricky organizing the trip.
If you can’t find one, start by researching transportation first. We went by train. Find the times for departure and arrival (and when your return trip will be if you do it in one day.)
Then visit the museum website and get your tickets. Admission is timed, so you’ll want to coordinate your museum ticket time with your train schedule.
The town is very small and otherwise uninteresting so I wouldn’t recommend an overnight stay. No matter, the museum is absolutely amazing.

I was going to suggest this too! when we spent a week in Barcelona, a day trip one day was train to Girona, and after a few hours there, it is a short train ride to Figueres, to see the Salvador Dali museum. The Dali museum was absolutely amazing! It shows you how brilliant he was; he did much more than paintings of melting clocks ;)

You can take the R3 train up to the Pyrenees. There are a few options, depending on the time you travel, that can include VIC (midway between Barcelona and the Pyrenees), get to Vall de Núria, a valley up in the Pyrenees that is only accessible by cog railway, that you catch from the train Ribas de Freser train station. It's a beautiful place with plenty of hiking routs and in the winter it's a ski resort. You can get a combo ticket that includes a return trip on the train, the cog railway and, in winter, a day ski pass.
You can also continue ll the way up to Puigcerdá. a lovely town on the boarder with France, that you can easily cross. On the French side you can catch the yellow train, an anamzing ride along the French Pyrenees, you can either catch itin the nearby town (check in advance details on wher you can do that) or catch one of the few R3 trains that continue from Puigcerdá into France to the Latour-de-Carol-Enveitg where the Yellow Train starts.
As for Andorra, I've been too many times and it's more and more like a shopping mall and might be full of people but it is beautiful, especially if you go out of the central area up to the mountains.
Just remember, Andorra is not part of the EU so if you have a limited visa you might not be able to go back in.
Also, your phone plan might not include it .
And last thing, It might be "duty free" but you do need to go back into Spain (or France) and they might check you and charge you for it, or even fine you if you did not declared something you should have. Even if no one stops you at the boarder you might be stopped along the road )happened to me once, but I did not have something that I needed to declare).

This was the perfect video for me, we are going to Barcelona in June. We have 4 extra nights and I'm debating staying in the Costa Brava area and Girona for the 4 days or splitting the time up and driving to Valencia as well seeing the sights mentioned.

A day trip is something that you can do a return trip and still have time to see the major places and Valencia is worth more than one day (at least 2-3 days). It's also too far as the train ride is 3h so you'll basically spend most of the time traveling.

The best thing is not to come!

    1. Taking a gondola ride in Venice and shared the cost equally among your friends/family
    2. Santorini especially Oia, you should come during winter months. Lesser tourists with little bit cheaper during these months.
    3. Went to Acropolis during Jan 2024 where at that time was cold and stormy in the last admission hour. Little tourists until I was left the only tourist taking pictures in the strong winds.
    4. Eifel tower in Paris, I just took a selfie from a not close distance but still worth taking the photo.
Another tourist trap is the little statue of the Little Mermaid in Copenhagen. Since it was challenging taking photos especially solo traveller I went twice just to take the best angle shot and it was totally worth it 😂. Just avoid the people and take swift action when there was no people around in the winter.

Please stop coming to Barcelona 😢 it is extremely packed, to the point that you don't even see a single local anywhere, it's just tourists collapsing every infrastructure we have here! Plus it's not even that pretty, just go to any other beach from literally anywhere around the Mediterranean and you will have the same but with less people. It's so sad to see local old people having to leave the houses they grew up in because of the loud, obnoxious and drunk tourists (specially the American ones) yelling everywhere and being super noisy. We love you guys, just don't come here so often for so many days pleaseeeeeee 😅
