Mr. Burt Lancaster was an excellent, versatile actor. He became a legend. As an activist for equal civil rights and for environmental issues. I’d say he was an excellent man. I thank his spirit for his existence and his contributions. Thank you Mr Lancaster.

One of my favorites, anything he was in was enjoyable. He always played a character that you could relate to. The smile and grin where contagious, phenomenal talent, I always wondered would the real Burt measure up to the on screen persona.

He was unique in every respect. Talent, physical ability, good look and physical acumen . He had charm .wit, showed sensitivity and vulnerability as well as superior strength. These qualities are rare or even absent in today’s “ stars”. His personal life was his own and no body’s business. He was a champion for racial equality, equal right for everyone. And an environmentalist before it became fashionable. He was dedicated to his craft and produced work to a high standard . He was a risk taker. Daring in his choices of roles.
His reputation is untarnished and and he was loved by many who knew him. His films entertainment even today.
You gave me many hour of enjoyment and happiness watching your performance. RIP.
A classic physique with amazing grace and talent. Trapeze is one of his best! Always have been a fan. Whatever he did, he did perfectly. He was a star the minute he stepped onto a set. From Here to Eternity is a classic. What an actor!!!

GREAT MAN PERFORMER, ACTOR, ATHLETE, ACTIVIST, BURT LANCASTER WAS JIM THORPE! Greatest movies! That’s a hard one! “YOUNG SAVAGES”, BRILLIANT, riveting PERFORMANCE! “COME BACK LITTLE SHEBA”, this was hard for BURT, because he had to give a CALM DOWN PERFORMANCE with SHIRLEY BOOTH! STILL GAVE A RIVETING PERFORMANCE as an alcoholic!
I remember seeing him as a guest on Sesame Street when he modeled physical fitness for the audience. He must have been in the 60's.

Burt Lancaster was one of the pioneers who designed the American cinema but I think he was of the second generation !

BL's achievements as actor, director, contributor toward screenplays such as THE SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS, acrobat, and his perseverance in pursuing his career goals interest me far more than his affairs and political actions, and I really detest this trend to label dead actors racist, non-racist, communist-leaning, gay, and whatever else, made even worse by the fact that more and more often the deceased's sons and daughters are quoted as confirming the worst rumors about former living humans now unable to defend their good name.
