That's just literally how regulated power supplies work. They target an output voltage, and changing the input voltage will cause the power supply to correct for the difference.

Thing would not boot upon clicking the power button and would just start up after some time by its own after clicking the button 😂 my stupid ass thought switching that button on psu, will give it a sort of „kick” and the pc will start up. Next thing I see after doing that and switching power button is loud bang, white smoke 😂😂 I thought i fucking died or something lmao

@@gamertechlive1780Don't you understand that this is only an experiment? It likes you want to see what happen if you flip the power supply voltage mode when the PC still in running condition. That's the point here.
And that isn't shorting the power supply, he just changing the voltage switch 230/110v, he flip it with the screwdriver thing to 110v while he plug the power supply to the 240v source. So the thing is overvoltage.

The reason is that you reduced the voltage from 220 to 110, and this is a feature found in HP and Dell old models.
This "feature" is in basically every Passive PFC Power supply
