2 years later and this video is still helping people. I just upgraded to gt350 axles and your video was spot on. Worked amazing and was able to geterdone fast. I did disconnect the brake line bracket from the sway bar end link just to give me a few more inches of lift, but not totally necassary.
Thank you for the content I just broke one of mine and it’s the ford performance one and now I understand why and can change myself now. I appreciate this video
thanks for the video mississippi boys yall showed me enough that i think i can fix my 01 svt cobras IRS. I believe im having the same issue. thanks for the info
Should’ve place a jack stand under the lower control are to simulate a load on suspension. The bushings only rotate very limited motion.the suspension will now be off in the rear when launching causing a left or right deflection. Good luck holding it straight.
You know what, you're right lol. What would be your recommendation to get it back correct? I've had some squeaks and on a hard launch it does pull some.
@@R3VIVALGT with the wheels off. Loosen all the bolts on the pivot points with a floor jack under the lower control arms, then retorq the bolts, all set. The jack simulates the suspension under load .
@@PierceFlorine on the big cylindrical chunk sitting against the diff, put the chisel punch against that and then smack it with a hanheld sledge. That’s how I got mine out. Home Depot sells a nice punch that has a nice grip and flat area that protects your hand from the hammer. It’s pretty hard if you’re on jacks, but it can be done

Should’ve added. Do not loosen the inner upper control arm or the inner lower tow link. Basically every thing you had removed
@@MustangGuru thanks, I put jackstands under the springs on each side, loosened and retorqued those 3 bolts and I no longer have the butt wiggle
Honestly I think I’d rather the half shaft be the week link if they’re this “easy” (relatively speaking compared to other parts) to change.
Shout out Mississippi👌
Doesn't look like the Ford garage would be able to charge a lot of hours worth of Labor to do a axle swap then nicely done guys
My half shaft is not this easy. Its stuck in there. Should I put my car in neutral to make it easier? Anyone with some information?
Did u get it fixed?
Was it stuck in the diff side? I did this swap and had some issues but eventually got it out. I’ll be glad to give advice
@@TexasBornAgainTrucker hey mine is stuck in the diff like youre saying its, can i hear your advice for getting it out
@@PierceFlorine get a chisel punch and a small sledge hammer and go to town lol. Treat it with some pb blaster first.
