Yeah... Totally agree with everything you said most especially to leftover food 😂.
When we have leftover food, we usually take it home for the people at home who weren't with us. It's more of like thinking of them even we are eating outside without them.
Moreover, if we have leftover bones of chicken, pork or beef when we eat in restaurants, we also take it home for the dogs 😂 or if we ate in a seafood restaurant, we still bring home leftover of our cats at home 😂😃

Well you don't need to go to Philippines for that. Just go to mid-southern States. I exactly know what you were saying as I stayed/vacationed in California albeit just a month but my limited exposure jibes with what you said. Many friendly and nice Americans here in mid-south who always greet "How do you do" or, in their local verse "howdy". :)

In the Philippines, we have a laid-back stress-free life. Driving in all sorts of vehicles is an organized chaos but we have less accidents. We care so much for our family and love nature. Sharing food and pure delight in making visitors feel at home is a norm in a family. We are a happy but a resilient people smiling even in adversity. Patient and hopeful of a better future for everyone.

  • @pebsstonesteel1424

Roads connecting to different provinces are really what we lack. This is the reason why development of rural areas are slow and why the population is concentrated in the metro cities due to job opportunities.
You discussed your insights of our culture well. 😊
The pace of life here is slow. It could be because of our climate. Being fast paced in a hot and humid country is rather uncomfortable and so we take our time. And yeah... you'll learn patience, which I think is a good virtue. It will lessen your stress level and would be good for your health.
Be safe, healthy and happy! 😄

We have sort of railway system. You can take a train from Manila all the way to Legaspi. When it comes to tunnels underwater that is nearly impossible since Philippines takes care of the marine lifes corals and everything. Even building a bridge from one island to another they need to take into consideration the marine life.

There’s also ongoing construction of modern international airport in Bulacan. There’s also ongoing construction of LRT to Cavite which will pass through NAIA.
LRT and MRT will soon be interconnected.

I appreciate your comment. Let me help you understand. First, Filipino time is one influence of the Spanish colonisation for 400 years and our hot & humid tropical climate. When you go to the province you'll experience siesta/afternoon nap which is the same in Mexico and in Spain. Everything stops after lunch. Second, touching and sharing food with friends is vital because Filipino culture is collective than individualistic. Children are taught to get along, take care of younger siblings and respect their elders. We take care of our seniors. It is not acceptable behaviour to put your parents in homes for the aged. Thus, we have multi-generational households. It helps us recover fast in times of disaster, natural calamities, deaths and war. It's a security blanket. Third, our country is still in the process of development. Thus, public transport is not reliable and readily available particularly in the province. If you drive, it is better to rent a car and use Waze or Google maps in your travels.
Note: Majority of Filipinos have Spanish beliefs, American educated, tri-lingual, reads Japanese anime, fans of Korean stars, and an international palate.

About the development, to be fair, the Philippines is a very young country. We’ve only been fully independent in 1946… so that’s 76 years. Our political system is not yet mature, which really slows down progress. The UK has been much more ahead for centuries now, had been at the forefront during the industrial revolution, and have gained a lot from their colonies. The Philippines has a lot of catching up to do 😊

If you are going to Batangas, you should plan first what part you will go since Batangas province is big and there are different routes depending on what part of the province you'll go. You must know your bus route coz there are Pinoys who don't know that Batangas City (Capital of Batangas)is different from Batangas (the province) and might point you to other route like Lemery or Nasugbu etc. This already happened while we were on a trip to Nasugbu, some guys boarded Nasugbu route coz it is what pointed to them when they said they are going to Batangas City and it was too late when they found out that they should've boarded Batangas City route.😅

Thank you for appreciating and staying long here in the Philippines but about what you said about needing a guide is true so you can go to places here that are really beautiful that is not very much known and for safety as well 😊

If you want to experience the real life in the Philippines, you should come to the country side which its totally different from the metro even the life big cities in the province is also totally different.
