I bought a Parker Hale Hussar built on a Brno ZG-47 action in .270 at the Cabela's in Glendale Arizona last month. Someone had piled shellac on the stock and it looked horrible. I got the rifle for $299. I've since refinished the stock with oil, repointed the checkering, re-blued the metalwork, repaired cracks with Acraglass, put a half inch Decelerator recoil pad on it, added a new scope, an Amish handcrafted leather sling, and glass bed the action. Somehow classic turn bolts still do it for me...
I have one in 300WM, brand new from the shop, got it home took the carrier out and the trigger mechanism fired and would not reset, both the hammer and the locking arm would not lock back. I removed the trigger group, and noticed a small tab on the side, if I pressed on the tab it would lock, but at the slightest bump would fire. After about a dozen attempts, I managed to re-insert the trigger group and carrier into the rifle. On cycling the action, it did it again. I then packed it up and went back to the shop, they were good enough to replace the trigger group with another they had in stock. The original trigger group was actually slightly different to the second one, I think there are different versions. However, the assembly looks cheap, I hope Beretta, like the upmarket stock makes an improved trigger assembly available. I was going to buy a Merkel, in hindsight I think I should of.
If you mount the scope further back and increase the length of the stock by adding another spacer does this solve the problem of the bolt clearing your cheek?
@@Ian-v3y7w it's still excessively long bolt travel for a 308 and that might work for you, but not all shooters will want to have any additional extensions
What a zhane such a good rifle and such a bad barrel in my country everyone whi bought one is selling it straight after. I guess only other budget option for straight pool is savage Impulse light barrels and quality remains for top spenders having blaser R8 with a loads of barrels to choose from and good lenghts for target groupings. Not supprising tho good stuff is sold in a different shop.
Had one in 308..very accurate and easy to load for however the safety mechanism failed....when cycling the bolt it was knocking the safety on....had to leave it back but regrettably...
Good review as always. But getting a bit tired of a lot of reviews on the 6.5 creedmoor. What about 22.250, 6.5x55 (which i have in tikka and brilliant), 243 and 308.
That bolt does not look like the slickest thing to use. And having to move your head is not ideal but I guess if you're hunting it will tend to be a single shot.
Its a Gun for Driven Hunts nothing more nothing less (standing freehand in motion you dont need the most accurate Gun for Driven Hunts 30-50m max) i have shot it twice now in a Shooting Cinema for Training loan there cause i dont do that to my own Rifle 😜 100 Shots in around 45 Minutes you can Cook on the Barrel after this thats why i allways take a Rifle from the Cinema and not my own.... I never had Problems with opening the Bolt or ejection it just worked, in standing Position with a 1-6x24 Scope or Reddot my Head stays on the stock like on my Steel Action HS the Bolt never touched my Face when standing i had really good Sessions with it in the Cinema (the Gun has over 10k Rounds through it in 308 .... )
I think if Beretta could make a turn bolt option of the Brx1 that would be very popular. Not everyone needs a straight pull. It would be less complicated and cheaper, quieter to action.

Looks great! The aluminium chassis with walnut stock and fore-end puts one in mind of the Woox chassis; which can host an ordinary bolt action.

I love mine in 308. I have it setup so I don't even have to come off of my site alignment.
Great review once again Chris nice rifle but for me it's bolt action that I prefer 👍
Very nice 👍👍👍
Looks sweet with the walnut stock.
Handsome looking in the walnut stock

Rossi made one of these slide bolts long ago. But it didn't take off .. idk why .
