I love my ratio rite cup I use it for my 1/5 rc cars and chain saws and weed eaters and stuff, the only thing I can say is I dump a little gas back in the cup to clean it and get the exact amount of oil but thats just me being fussy lol.

I no longer mix my fuel because I am not as mechanically inclined as I wish. I have found that the Stihl pre mix enables me to crank my Stihl trimmer and edger after 1 or 2 pulls EVERYTIME. I realize it costs 10 times as much but I use very little pre mix per year and the lack of frustration and aggravation of hard starting has dropped to nil.
Larry, I sincerely appreciate your comments! Yes, that pre-mix fuel is pretty awesome and definitely is a great solution for a lot of people. Too bad I use so much that i can’t feasibly use it, or I would.
Larry, for 10 years or more, I have been using Pro-Mix 2-Cycle oil and non-ethanol gas for all of my 2-stroke equipment. There is a line on the bowl for 32:1. this is good for all called for fuel gas ratios. I have even had the mix sit for more than one year. I put it into the empty tank and the engine fires within 2-3 pulls. I am not kidding. No aptitude for mechanics is needed, just fill to the line and add to one gallon of non-ethanol gas. If you choose to use regular gas, you will end up having to replace your fuel lines. This is why I changed how I do things.

In Canada here we have Pop bottles in 710ml. Buy a 20 ml syringe, put 14ml of Stihl approved oil and put it in the empty pop bottle. Fill the remainder of the pop bottle with ethanol free hi test. You now have a perfect tank full, so be thankful for this tip.

1985 mercury 115hp is this used 2 stroke mix with gas?
If you were a TRUE GANGSTER, you would have poured some of the final fuel mixture into the cup, swirled the cup a little bit and pour it back in to the fuel jug. This would kill two birds with 1 stone, it would clean out the ratio rite cup and it would have added the left over oil into the main mix.. Just Kidding Bro, I had no idea how to use this cup, I purchased it as a measuring cup and I have mistakenly measured liquid for the past two years!
Even easier with a dollar stor measure cup and metric system. If mixing 10 litres convert that to milliliters so you get 10000ml. 10000 divide by ratio you want so for 32:1 it is 10000÷32=312 so just measure 312ml oil and ad to the 10L of gas and done

25 ml 2 stroke Oil per 1 Liter fuel. I use Motul 800 off road 2t.

Say there was already 1 gallon of premix in my jug and I wanted to add another 2 gallons to it. Can I just go to the pump and put in 2 gallons, then add the oil for the 2 gallons of fuel and shake it up?
Yes exactly. The premixed gas already in there is cancelled since it's already mixed. It's like a empty can again.
Just bought a KX 85 that was freshly rebuilt. Seller recommended that I use 40:1 but didn’t say for how long? Is that for a few hours in and then change to 32:1 ?
Run it 32:1 all the time you'll never have a problem

How do you mix 4 in a half gallons for a 2 stroke kx100
You first want to convert your gasoline amount into ounces. 1gal = 128fluid ounces. So you have 4gals at 128fl ounces then a .5gal at 64fl ounces so a total of 576fl ounces. If you want to mix at 40:1. You divide 576 by 40 and get 14.4 fluid ounces. That’s How much you would put in to get 40:1.

About a year if you used regular gas and no stabilizer. Longer if you have ethonal free fuel

No you do not have to

It needs a tightly sealing lid... Otherwise you would have to keep it in a plastic bag and get oil all over your hands or clean it out after every use...

Each oil has a different mix ratio so I wouldn’t totally go off this videos instructions
One thing you failed to mention is how many ounces you pour it in there
The amount 100% varies on the oil and what ratio you are wanting

You’re measuring weight VS fluid volume. Ounces in this case is Fluid Ounces. There are 128 fluid ounces in a gallon, thus 40:1 is 3.2 fluid ounces X 40 = 128 fluid ounces. 40:1.
Pro tip gas metering gauges aren’t accurate use the marks on your can

It's fine as long it's not like a year. But a fewobths is fine if storing a year use non ethanol gas to store. Don't use stabilizer that shit doesn't do anything at all.
Ethanol free stays fresh for year or longer.

@@virginia7125 gas additives are not good in general. You should just use fresh gas or use non ethanol gas if storing vehicle for winter
I dont use pump gasoline made for vehicles. I use nonethanol gasoline. Nonethanol is good for 2 stroke engines like your chainsaw. Your chainsaws will love you, if you switched to nonethanol fuel.
