I lived in Wellington in the late 80s to mid 90's and went to a few Supergroove gigs. Loud funky, made me jump up and down. my mate and i must have been 10 years older than many in the room. good times
Dude my boy from New Zealand introduced me to Suoergroove when we snowboard and ski teched at this ski resort in BC canada named Apex Mountain Resort back in 98 . I covered like 3 tracks off their biggest album and we rocked resorts allover it was the funniest times of my music career. Even so we played all covers. We played obscure covers nobody new in canada really. But they were funked out tracks. Lol We called ourselves. The Cartoon Phat Cats lol hahaha. we rocked that until 2000. I was obsessed with Supergroove. We covered 311, Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger, Supergroove, Sublime, Rage Against The Machine, Cake, fuckin Men Without Hats lol the memories to this era of music
Brisbane Livid Festival..1995..Davies Park....River Stage...Sun going down over the river...Supergroove layering the crowd with the most lucious of grooves...A moment in my life....
Good one chaitrali. You might like to type Che Fu in the You Tube search and you will see the lead singer and how he has progressed over time, please check him out, his dad is a great musician and Che was around music ALL his life. Kids got Game, i must say. Hope you like.
They hosted Jimmy Barnes about 25 years ago, they had a member who had a pad next door to where the gig was gunna be, Athletic Park and hooked up after a sound check in the day before the gig. A GREAT time was had by ALL...i heard. They of course whacked a Hangi down in his honour (and their munchies pangs) that Jimmy and his mates loved up a storm.
I think there was about a week or three , where new zealand kids were listening to nothing else but SUPERGROOVE. I remember being a part of that, it was so cool.
Love how this band defies the norm and has a trumpet and sax with the ordinary array of musical instruments. Makes the song that much better to listen to.
Saw these guys live today at Marlborough Wine & Food Fest. What they do musically makes no sense - but somehow it works.22 years down the track and they were bloody amazing!
This is nothing but COOL! This band does New Zealand proud ! :D :D :D I wish more newer bands would take some inspiration from these guys. We'd get some goood music!
Saw these guys live in Auckland in the 90s. My sister and I were right up the front getting squashed, and were so close to the speakers we fully lost our hearing for 2 days 😁😂 Good Times 😁
Saw these guys live with Shihad, The Feelers, The Exponents at Hawea one new year, they all got up together and cranked this song. Best New Years gig ever!
I whored the ever loving shit out this song when I was 8 it was simply that good. This and "Cruise Control" were on repeat for like a year after they came out.
Luv it! Brings back memories of seeing them in a pub in Nelson way back when...and to think they put Che out...guess they laughed on the other side of their face when he hit the big time! LOL
Well I was kind of wondering, wondering Whether you could help me out With a problem that will kind of a make you go scream and shout It's a problem that I face, of time and time or place and place Whenever they're coming they're bringing it back And hippity-hoppiting and jumping the bass, say Yoko Ono Do you wanna go-go, quick Jumping a back into my groove, like my brother Sticker, flicker, flicker to a flavor Beats are rocking harder than a brick to a layer Ease up, ease up, brother brown put your knees up Begin to be flipping and kicking like a Bruce Lee feature 'Cos teacher wanna tickity-tick the shallow preacher funk Eat ya like a cream puff, 'cos I can't get enough Can't get enough Can't get enough, can't get enough, no [4 times] Here it is for hers or his For his, for hers, for better, for worse For what it's worth, the second verse, the verse gets funnier Mixing up a storm, brewing up a tornado Having an abundance of platonic relationships Reminiscent of my man, Mike Plato I was running down the street, just screaming I was blind But I lost my voice, like I lost my mind and I Couldn't get another [5 times] NO Sworn, to conform, to the norm, yawn, like a lawn Born, I was born, to reform, war torn And I was breakin' indeed An' runnin' an' singin' an' making 'em off the cuff, woo uh uh uh uh, 'cos I can't get enough Can't get enough Can't get enough, can't get enough, no [8 times] So high, can't get over it So low, can't get under it So wide, can't get round it Oh rock my soul Star steery steps now, stowing it, still sticky People stop picking now, makin' people picky Tricky Micky had a hickey, maybe he went for a quickie What the thingamejig, watchamecallit, doohickey The rain in spain falls mainly on the rapper My, my, my, my, M.C. One of NZs most musically talented groups that ever existed. Che Fu is a very good vocalist too with a great range.

Describes my life...my fave song...
I appreciate that they didn't try to hide their accents. Like Americanize their song, etc. like a lot of artists.
They deserved an international fame...👍👌
I lived in Wellington in the late 80s to mid 90's and went to a few Supergroove gigs. Loud funky, made me jump up and down. my mate and i must have been 10 years older than many in the room. good times

That second verse... nasal NZ accent white boy rap - so glorious :D
Haha I’m from India and I fell in love with this song as soon as I heard it for the first time. ❤️

Saw these guys live today at Marlborough Wine & Food Fest. What they do musically makes no sense - but somehow it works.22 years down the track and they were bloody amazing!
Kinda reminds me of Queen or Black Eyed Peas' mixing of genres.
This is nothing but COOL! This band does New Zealand proud ! :D :D :D I wish more newer bands would take some inspiration from these guys. We'd get some goood music!

Motueka?
Way back 90's till now listening to this group❤❤❤
My all time favorite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The guy in the black shirt was the best out of the whole group
Che Fu
I prefer the guy wearing the black pants, or the guy with the shades, the one preforming music was really good too.
The second guy is awesome live. So much energy. He never stays still. Gets the crowd going
Supersong❤❤❤❤
They STILL sound good after all this time. thought I'd be cringing as I listened, but not at all. I was about 15 when this came out! So long ago now.
Eat ya like a cream puff, 'cos I can't get enough of supergroove! xD
they rock. so damn great song and great vid, indeed.
now that's what I call music

Same here. I think you're cool, let's be friends. Add me on messenger m.me/emmanuel.micul
Well I was kind of wondering, wondering
Whether you could help me out
With a problem that will kind of a make you go scream and shout
It's a problem that I face, of time and time or place and place
Whenever they're coming they're bringing it back
And hippity-hoppiting and jumping the bass, say Yoko Ono
Do you wanna go-go, quick
Jumping a back into my groove, like my brother
Sticker, flicker, flicker to a flavor
Beats are rocking harder than a brick to a layer
Ease up, ease up, brother brown put your knees up
Begin to be flipping and kicking like a Bruce Lee feature
'Cos teacher wanna tickity-tick the shallow preacher funk
Eat ya like a cream puff, 'cos I can't get enough
Can't get enough
Can't get enough, can't get enough, no [4 times]
Here it is for hers or his
For his, for hers, for better, for worse
For what it's worth, the second verse, the verse gets funnier
Mixing up a storm, brewing up a tornado
Having an abundance of platonic relationships
Reminiscent of my man, Mike Plato
I was running down the street, just screaming I was blind
But I lost my voice, like I lost my mind and I
Couldn't get another [5 times]
NO
Sworn, to conform, to the norm, yawn, like a lawn
Born, I was born, to reform, war torn
And I was breakin' indeed
An' runnin' an' singin' an' making 'em off the cuff, woo
uh uh uh uh, 'cos I can't get enough
Can't get enough
Can't get enough, can't get enough, no [8 times]
So high, can't get over it
So low, can't get under it
So wide, can't get round it
Oh rock my soul
Star steery steps now, stowing it, still sticky
People stop picking now, makin' people picky
Tricky Micky had a hickey, maybe he went for a quickie
What the thingamejig, watchamecallit, doohickey
The rain in spain falls mainly on the rapper
My, my, my, my, M.C. Hammer
Euh, euh, euh, stammer
D-d d-d d-d d-d d-d, jackhammer
Can't get enough, can't get enough, no
