This is exactly the same advice I give everyone. But do I always do it? I’m just again refocusing on the Chopin prelude 18, measures 12-13. Got to first admit you’ve got a problem, before you can fix it.
Slow down enough to make no mistakes. Then, speed up the metronome one notch at a time. Don't use pedal. I totally agree, maestro. When I get the section fixed I back up a couple of measures.
yes, celebrate, but replicate the correct passage... and again... and again... when you get it right the first time, that is when the practicing really starts. Now... if I could only follow my own advice.
