he or rather the lady in the add is talking about egg biriyani, not chicken biriyani with an egg. Egg biriyani has one or two eggs along with a piece of potato depending on place and price.

Hello Farrukh !! 9:10 ... So its about the Biryani topic.
In India there are different versions of biryanis, the taste , presentation , complementary items (salan/raita) and ingredients differ according to the respective regions. The Biryani from Hyderabad is presented with mirchi ka salan and raita , and top of it is the boiled egg. Its signature Hyderabadi biryani style. Then again there are some subgroups like "kacche gosht ki biryani" , hyderabadi dum biryani and others as well.
I also like Bombay biryani and Awadhi biryani from Lucknow. They have different flavours/ingredients.
Sorry your experience of hyd biryani wasn't nice. I can not say about the biryani you ate in that restaurant, may be it wasn't cooked well, but Hyderabadi biryani is the Top most one(At least for me). I ma not from Hyderabad but lived there for 4 years and enjoyed every single day of that beautiful city with amazing people and super yumm HYDERABADI BIRYANI !!
P.S.- I never liked mirchi ka salan but I am crazy about hyd biryani. I hope someday you find a nice Hyderabadi biryani place or just visit hyderabad and go to "Bavarchi" or any other good restaurants. Or just ask Hyderanabi people.. they are very nice and they know which place to go for a nice biryani and don't forget having faluda after that.

True . Idk why ppl from other places say Hyderabadi biryani is kind of fake.... And many more. As a Hyderabadi, I know what Hyderabadi biryani is. Alag alag tharika hothe hai yaar biryani banane mai. I personally feel u can get that essence of Hyderabadi biryani only in Hyderabad, especially in areas like old city.

@@32spy No, the reason india is what it is, is because we don't believe in the one absolute way of doing something. Everybody is different and their taste palettes are different. It's obvious then that there will be many different variations of the one dish, especially because it's so popular!

Btw, egg is the closest that most Indians come to having animal protein, and necessity is the mother of invention, soo... And the (spicy) saalan you described typically accompanies the Hyderabadi biryani.. There's also Awadhi / Lucknowi biryani, and that comes with raita.. And then there's Kolkata Biryani (my personal fav) that has a whole boiled aloo in it. Give it time, har ek ke liye dheere dheere taste develop ho jaayega - yahi maza hai alag alag cultures ke logon ke saath rehne ka :)

Biryani is prepared in different ways. In Hyderabad , Biryani (chicken or mutton) is served with egg , Raita and mirchi ka salan. It gives a whole different taste. In Hyderabad , mirchi ka salan is must with biryani.

Just like everything Indian, Biryani is also diverse. You'd get mirch ka saalan with a Hyderabadi biryani. But not with a Lakhnawi biryani. Idk how it is with the Sindhi Biryani (the most popular one from Pak) but if you really love biryani then please also respect the vast diversity it entails.

I dont know if u know it or not but actually when the britisher annexed awadh (curremt lucknow) the nawab of awadh fleed to kolkata and lived there with allied nawab of kolkata.
But his taste of biryani n nawabi food didnt go, so as per to fulfill his guest's need the nawab of kolkata made additions to biryani by adding boiled egg and potato(considered as an ingredient for rich people then) in biryani to fulfill his cravings
Hence this is the history why there are lot of biryani places in india especially in kolkata which serves boiled egg in the biryani

In Hyderabadi Dum Biriyani you will get a boiled egg & in Kolkata Biriyani you will get potato along with Biriyani.
That's the speciality.
Here in India a good majority of people are eggitarian(do not eat meat but eggs) ...this egg biryani is invention for them and quite popular in indian trains as a meal..

Actually the amazing fevicol ads are because of the ad agency Ogilvy and Mather .. and especially their creative head Piyush Pande who has been making these fevicol ads since mid 90s, if I'm not mistaken. Also he wrote the successful Acche din aane wale hain ad campaign for modi in the 2014 campaign.

That Flipkart ad didn't copy any concept from any American ad. There was no online shopping culture in India before Flipkart. eBay was there but people were not convinced about online shopping because of frauds. Not many people had credit or debit cards back then either. Flipkart revolutionized the online shopping in India by their cash-on-Delivery system. So when Flipkart started their campaign to attract customers, they used kids as adults, implying that online shopping is now like a child’s play. Since then they have been using kids in all of their ads.
That is the way Biryani is served in Hyderabad. Biryani is eaten almost all over India and every region has a slight twist. Hakeem for example is not popular accompaniment in most of India.

Listen..I agreed wht u said about biryani..biryani itself z a complete dish..that notion u found here in North India...In my house my father n every body else always say the same words..but the version u ate z south Indian kind of biryani n more I can say it's Andhra style biryani there they serve with Mirchi ka salan n that's the taste of Indian that's the uniqueness of India n I really proud of it..it has a large range of diversity in taste n even in cuisine every state z different from other that's the same case with biryani of India..
You don't even know bro. In India there's atleast five prominent, I repeat, *prominent* kinds of Biryani.
1. Hyderabadi
2. Lucknowee
3. Kolkata (bengali)
4. Malabar ( malayalam)
5. Andhra (from telegu continent)
- also dhakai (from dhaka Bangladesh), tamil, north indian and what not. And I assure you all of them are different in taste.
Add irani, kashmiri to that list so the list is long.

Bhai I'm from Hyderabad and the eggs are just an addition and not all of the restaurants include them. Now about the raita, Hyderabad is famous for biryani and we do eat it with raita (curd) and sometimes we add mirchi ka salan which complements the taste of biryani. I live in canada now so I have tried biryani from Pakistani, Bangladeshi, delhi and other restaurants but they were not even close to hyderabadi biryani in taste.
Ps. Not all of us eat biryani with raita or salan. I prefer to eat it without mixing anything but it's just nice to have options.
There are many regional variations of Biryani in different regions. Hyderabad wale me mirchi salan sath me hota hai. Aloo in Biryani is from Kolkata. I know this even without being a fan of Biryani.
