William, I had the same issue with the push washer falling off. My solution was to drill the pin and insert a cotter pin. Its kind of a field fix but it works.

Alright. This was a great video.
I replaced my board! But. It didn’t fix my problem.
    Symptoms:
    1. Doesn’t pair with foot petal or remote
    2. Only the power light is on when the motor is deployed and I plug it into the battery. When I push down the buttons per the owners manual for pairing I do not hear the low tone.
Eventually, the GPS light will turn on and make a beep.
Then all I can do is unplug it and try again.
I already replaced the control board. But the same issues.
    Any ideas?
Other thoughts are the batteries, GPS module, or needing to re calibrate the GPS.
Let me know what you think

I have the Xi3 with pinpoint gps would this video be good for replacing the Xi3 mother board? Also would it be the mother board if the prop comes on but the unit does not turn either direction and makes a humming sound when the direction buttons are pushed? Any help would be great

Thank you for the video, very informative. I have a question please about the universal board. Would that means I don’t have to replace the board if I change the motor from 24 volts to 36 volts ?

Hoping you'll see this. If I wanted to quiet the beep so it's not so pronounced every time I turn the motor on and off, could I just put a piece of electric tape over what appears to be the beep speaker on the circuit board (that round thing sitting by itself next to the ribbon cable connection)? It's so annoying because I am often pulsing the motor in wind.

I just put a new control board in. Very simple process, especially with this video. HOWEVER one in and I plug in my power light is blinking even when motor is NOT deployed. Read somewhere that maybe that is a new Standby feature? Also my remote won't sync and has brand new batteries. Any thoght wold be appreciated.

    Hi guys,
Think my board might be busted but not 100% sure. So I've got power to the two points on the board + and - but nothing happening. Tried hard reset.... nothing.... no beeps no nothing. Is there any other troubleshooting you recommend before committing to either a new motor or new board?

How do you know the control board needs replacement. Having trouble with my xi3, shots off and also gets a red battery charge indicator light red or blinking red. Check battery wiring, etc and all checks correct. Any Help?

Hey there. I’m having the same issue. All my connections are fine and I even have the same issue when directly wiring the motor to a battery with no breaker in-between. I saw a forum post online that someone had the same issue and found out that there was no thermal grease under the control panel and once they applied some, it stopped having the issue. My motor keeps shutting off with a blinking red light when I go at the higher speeds. Is it the same with yours?

@@xndyh Long story short. I solved the problem when I replaced the 30 year old trolling motor wiring on my 95 Tracker. Went from the 10 gage original wire to a 6 gage. The motor works like it never did since I installed 3-4 years ago. Now, all this after I replaced control box, plug, plug receptacle. By the way I got the 5' trolling motor wiring Kit from Tiny boat Nation.

Hi, I bought a boat with a Xi5 trolling motor. I preferred to use the remote controller but some day I tried to use the foot pedal and it doesn’t turn left, like something is damaged with its system. I tried sync again but I couldn’t.
Are there any parts to replace available ? Or something I should do to make it work correctly?
    Thanks

      @trollingmotorparts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Unfortunately, Motor Guide does not offer replacement parts for the Xi5 Foot Pedal. You would have to replace the Foot Pedal.

Had the same thing happen over the weekend unit powers up rotates left and right using wireless controller beeps as expected when motor turned on and when you hit the increase and decrease speed buttons but the prop doesn’t spin and subsequently the anchor lock doesn’t work. Prop spins freely by hand. Any help identifying the issue would be most appreciated.

Do you know where I could get a control board for the remote, they are not water proof, I live in North Queensland and the tropical rain damages them....

Unfortunately, Motor Guide does not offer the control board for the remote separately. You’d have to replace the entire remote.

I have a motorguude xi5 24v salt water w/ gps. I was fishing and had my trolling motor deployed and working. I had it on spotlock as I was fishing. 10 min later I was almost into the rocks. The motor had stopped working, I have full power to the unit also the unit will turn left and right after the motor stopped working. Can you give me any advice on how to fix? Or if you have heard of this problem before and what the fix would be? Thank you
