Hi there, I´m Bill the Geek, and this is the Bill Dallas Lewis Channel. Glad to have you here.
Currently, I am living in Mazatlan. I have only been here for forty eight hours. I just rented and apartment here. So if you are planning your move to Mexico, you will hear a couple of tips about how I found my apartment and you will be able to see what the apartment looks like. I you have questions about living in Mexico then this video will give you a couple of tips.
Many people ask me about, ¨How to rent an apartment in Mexico?¨ Or I talk to them about how to move to Mexico. And some people ask me about living in Mazatlan Mexico. I have done many videos about moving to Mazatlan Mexico and this is one of those videos.
So if you are planning a move to Mexico, then you might want to watch the entire video because I will tell you how I looked for my apartment and how I used Facebook to find a place. I used Facebook and found a great realtor that got me just what I was looking for. I am so happy now. I found a great place and it is only three blocks from the beach. PRICELESS.
So in this video, I am going to give you just a couple of tips about moving to Mexico.

Yeap, I am paying $650 per month. That is a bit more than I wanted to pay but it is like a new place with all of the furnishing, security and a pool and two blocks from the beach. I signed a 2 year lease. I could have paid a lot less but then I would have been sorry down the road.

Welcome to Sabalo Country, I have lived in Mazatlan off and on for 14 years, most of that in Sabalo Country, I love being so close to the beach. There is a great community of expats there. You will find lots of them hang out at a local watering hole called Casa de Camaron, just head north down Pulpo and right after you cross Del Atun look for the goat on your left in the parking lot. Lots of events happening there and the owners Brian and Ale are awesome. Currently travelling in South America but looking forward to coming back there this winter. I call it home and say that there is always a furnished place somewhere in the area I can rent. I like that every bus on the main street will take you down to the big Soriana store (old Mega) on Rafeal Buelna. Enjoy Mazatlan, hope to see you around this winter.

Hi Bill, glad you made it safely. I guess I could also say hello, neighbor. I have walked past your community a few times and see your building from the living room window of my condo. Small world indeed. The Oxxo closest to you also has an HSBC ATM, which is convenient. The heat is real (thankfully, it doesn't stay this hot year-round), so you won't need those hoodies for quite a while. LOL
My arrival experience sounds very similar, and my team was fantastic! Maz truly knows how to roll out the welcome mat. I'm on the 3rd floor, and the elevator is outside my unit, and I could not be more pleased. Of course, I made sure I had elevator access. LOL, I love it here. As previously shared, I'm a block from the ocean and can even see the beach from our rooftop pool, so it's pretty lovely. My beach walks generally happen very early before it heats up too much, but once inside, the air is nice and cool, and I spend the day working in great comfort.
It's a fabulous neighborhood and quieter over here, yet still close enough to the action. There is a lot of access to restaurants and things, extraordinary walkable excitement, and beach access.
The Walmart that is nearby is also excellent. The energy here is vibrant and certainly more my speed. Again, glad your arrival was seamless; now, enjoy your new home and life. See ya around! Eventually. LOL.

Ha, ha!!! So many say that's it's cooler in Mazatlan; however, I KNOW it's hotter there from being there!!!! It's because the skies are clear there and it's in a more arid climate than PV. You can, however, get more for your money on rentals there. Mazatlan is more of a Mexican driven resort town - they had a bit of a collapse due to crime years back, but it's better there today. It's easier to find a nice place there!!!!

It is hotter than hell here. But, tell you what, this is the same as Ohio in the summer believe it or not. Got AC, I´m fine. No snow in the winter. I have only been in Mazatlan for one year. It is an addicting place. I love it.

@@BillDallasLewis I do like your pool - I am a lap swimmer and enjoy having a pool available. If my wife gets her passport, I'll try to drive south. She's thinking more about returning to visit family in Brazil. If I drive, I take the dogs with me.
Congrats. My son is moving to Cabo in August and I plan to visit him and then head over to Mazatlan, and also check out other places in Mexico. A neighbor of mine has a house in La Paz, so I am going to check out that area also.

She can tell you about my apartment complex as well as many more that are much better. She live in a great place, but she pays $1,500 per month. But it is right across the street from the ocean, with the view.

Yes, the place is very nice. I pay $650 US per month and that includes internet, cable, water, garbage, parking, everything except electric. Last month my electric bill was $25 US. So, the place is good for my first place in Mazatlan.

Nope, they only have 2 beds, 2 baths. They have put a lot of money into this place, but there are too many retired people living here. I will very happy to move to a place where there is a mixture of ages and mostly Mexicans. If you are looking at Mazatlan, look for a place very near El Centro, or Playa del Sur. that´s what I think.

For my place now, internet is included as well as garbage. No where have I had to pay for garbage. Over all where ever I have lived, electric has not been bad. Living here in Mazatlan the most I ever paid in a month was $60 US, last month I paid $25 US.

I live in a place called Sabalo Country. It is north of downtown about 10 minutes in a taxi. It is about a half mile south of the Marina here in Maz. The apartments mostly rent in 6 month blocks. I got a two year lease. I don't know anyone in here renting month to month.

Hi Claudia, there is a market about 4 blocks from Roberts Bed and Breakfast, they have all kinds of T shirts. If you can make to the old town plaza, it is about 2 blocks from there. All you have to do is some one where is the Market.
I’m going to move to mazatlan in the next month I don’t know anybody there that can help me with my move so looking for someone to. Help me with my move I am willing to compensate for the time and effort that it’s taking to make my move
Join Mazatlan Facebook groups and ask lots of questions. People will tell you all that you need to know. That is how I found my apartment and my way around.

First of all, every person on the planet that is willing so share love with other people on the planet is my friend. But,,,,,,,,, I only know about 2 people here and they are about a 15 minute drive from me. So, I will be meeting new wonderful loving people as I go. Is the pool heated. LOL!!!!!
It is very hot here. There is no need for a heated pool. Or, a heated beach. Thank God for air conditioning.

Tell you what, I had never been to this apartment. The pictures looked great and all of that. When I got here I fell in love with the place. But, on the way here, driving, I was thinking, those pictures make it look like this apartment is on about the 5th or 6th floor. Then I thought, ¨I really hope this place has an elevator.¨. Well, when I got here, sure enough there is an elevator. Thank God.

I don´t think that finding a 1 bed and 1 bath would be a problem. I was walking around this week and I met a guy named Mike. He is an expat, he said that there were all kinds of places for rent for $150 US to $400 US in the neighborhood that I am in.

Ty Bill! My husband and I have been researching places 2 live in Mexico. The 3 that we've been really studying are Mazatlan, Huatulco and Lake Chapala. Curious if you're familiar with the other 2 places and what your thoughts are about them. My biggest concern is really whether or not we can afford 2 live on our small savings until we qualify 4 our SS in a few years. I've read so much conflicting information on rental prices, bills, where 2 live, etc etc. It begins 2 be confusing 2 know who 2 believe/trust so 2 speak.
I have 2 tell you that your videos really have been a blessing 2 me. As I watch more and more of them I feel more and more confident that retiring in Mexico will be the right decision 4 us. Now we just have 2 find the right place 2 start our Mexico journey.

BTW, I don't think I heard you mention the price for your rental? Unlike Lake Chapala prices here are in pesos not the U.S. price they scam at Chapala.

Hi Junk, I got in at a very good time. This was 7 months ago. I signed a two year lease at $650 US per month. Now they are charging $800 US per month.

The realtor said that the Electric would be about $50 US per month. The great thing is there is a separate AC unit in each room, so I can close one door, turn it off and in the next room, turn it on. It actually only takes about 4 minutes to cool down a room then I can turn it off for about 40 minutes

The Chapala area is a great place. Ajijic and Chapala, but after I went to Mazatlan, it just called me. It´s a big city with a different, ¨Good Vide.¨ I really like it here. I have only been here for two days now so after making the move, now I can go out an enjoy the Good Vides.

Thank you for your question. In this complex I am in, the rents range from $650 US to $800 US. There you go. There are many places for rent in the neighborhood that are less and for places just as nice or nicer. Hope that helps.

Hi Zhou, I live in I guess you would call it a suburb of Mazatlan. The place is called Sabalo Country. It is just north of the Gold coast in Mazatlan. I live two blocks from the beach. If you do a search in google for Mazatlan, and click the map they show you will see it. It is on the northern tip of Mazatlan.
