‘Third-world stuff’: ‘Unbelievably dangerous precedent’ being set in New York

- Sky News Australia host James Morrow has declared the jury selection for Donald Trump’s ongoing hush money trial as a “stitch up” which is more commonly seen in “third world” justice systems.
"They don’t really care if this case is so ridiculous that it gets thrown out on appeal,” Mr Morrow said.
“The point of this whole case against Trump is that the process is punishment, keeping him there, keeping him off the campaign trail for weeks and weeks.
“What is going on in New York, this is really third-world stuff here, in no sane universe should a guy with such an obvious axe to grind, to say nothing of ridiculous conflicts of interest like this judge, be presiding over this trial.
“Were this any other defendant, what would have been a misdemeanour at most, should never even have gone on, except for the fact they need it to discredit Trump, damage his name, and keep him off the campaign trail.
“Partisan Democrats, who have turned Trump into this sort of hate figure like the monster in a German children’s fairy tale, are setting an unbelievably dangerous precedent here.”

So did he falsify business records? Cuz if he did, and it’s against the law, does he get a pass because he’s running for president? I do that, I go to jail. He’s not special.
So does he have a problem with the law? It’s on the books right? Like, it exists as a law to punish the alleged offence. If he’s innocent then he’s fine. They’re spending all this time weeding out bias in the jurors and he didn’t do anything wrong, and he’s getting wall to wall coverage for free that beats any campaign speech so isn’t this a win? Good thing his daughter is presiding over the case. Could you imagine if we judged trump on what his kids did? We would be looking at whether they ran their business in accordance the law. Which they didn’t. But we can’t bring that up.
