A solo drive through this route was my long day dream, eventhough I had some fear in me, I had to overcome this fear.
Finally I made my mind to start my trip, the steep roads starts from Soudha view point which is around 3050mters above sea level on of the highest view points in Saudi Arabia.
In fact this very road is listed amongst the most dangerous roads in the world- stiff, curvy, narrow with the sharpest turns I’ve ever seen in all my travels, but nonetheless it also has one of the most stunning views.
A good car with well maintained braking system & a cautious driver is a must for a safer drive through this route.
The dangerous nerve recking terrain in around 13kms.

I made a solo trip down that winding road last year and it was white knuckles all the way down to Rijal Alma. But well worth it---You just need to have a good car(I had a Hyundai Rental), take your time, and stop occasionally to give the brakes time to cool off. The scenery is awesome, and there's a hypnotic effect due to the constant curvature and feel of gravity

This province has some of the best roads in Saudi...one more interesting road is the on from Al Baha to Al Ayn Village
