Idk about the rest of you but I find New Years Eve to be the most depressing day of the year for a Nostalgic-minded person. It’s an inescapable reminder that time continues to move forward and what you once had you can never get back.
I completely feel you. I had an early flight on New Year’s Day and managed to sleep through New Year’s Eve particularly the celebration part and it was amazing.
I'm right with you. I was depressed too. I feel the same way.

Was the Teddy Ruxpin ad as creepy then as it is now? Was it meant to be? It seems like it's saying 'hey parents we're not Transformers or the A-Team and that's a good thing' but it's such a jarring combination of (now TTS sounding) deadpan narration and stark studio lighting, strange horror style fogged silhouette intro and those close-ups! Weird!
