Great! Found video by accident. I wish it had a better title (leather or Chinese patch machine ) so people could find it and that you could get more likes. Good product. thank you for sharing

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll also consider the title suggestion. Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. 🥹

Practical and functional; really helps sewing straight lines along the edges. This is indeed a good alternative than the magnetic guide which will cause problems to the bobbin movement due to the magnetic force. Again, thanks for this useful trick.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll also post a DIY edge guide made from leather for those who do not have access to a 3D printer.

Nice idea think I'll build one with a strong magnet to hold in place.

That’s a great idea. Just be careful on the placement for the magnet. I have a video here as well using a DIY guide (I think I got it from a car cellphone holder) but switched to fridge magnets as stronger magnets have a tendency to lift the bobbin. Thanks for the feedback.

Love how you show the full process. Would you happen to know what size screw you used for the plate?

Great idea and concept. But, I don’t think the roller is necessary, since it didn’t seem to move in most of the video. Just a flat plate or bar would do, but great idea.

Good feedback. This was an attempt to create an edge guide posted in an FB group for CLSP users. I made a personal DIY version (version 2) in another video. Kept the roller since it is still useful for thicker grade leather projects.

I made one of these and for the wheel I used a sealed ball bearing of the kind that is on a woodworking router bit.

I’d love to see how that turned out. I agree with using ball bearings since this makes for a smoother experience. Thanks for the feedback.

wow really cool!, what type of needle and thread are you using? thanks

    • @VP4TD

Thanks for the feedback. For this video, I was using Tkt 30 (thin) .35mm (approx) bonded nylon thread with the default factory needle HA x 1 21

I like the idea, would be better if it had a lower profile, and if the clamp that holds the needle didn’t hit the guide, otherwise it’s a good concept

Thanks! Excellent suggestion and feedback. I got the 3D print file from an FB group and gave it a go. It inspired me to create a DIY version with leather materials, a Starbucks card and other bits and pieces.

How do you sew closer to the guide? I'm looking to sew a 1/8 edge on my work. A different foot?

    • @VP4TD
      @VP4TD  2 ปีที่แล้ว

That’s a great question. The closest I can get is around 1/4th of an inch using the edge guides I make. A technique I also use is to sew it as close as possible and then trim off the excess. This is especially handy for Watch straps and smaller leather projects. For the foot, I still try to work mostly with stock settings.

Did you tool this yourself, or can it be on AMAZON?

Hi, thanks for watching the video. I joined an FB group dedicated to CLSP owners as I too had many questions. I came across a file from the group that can be 3D printed and I gave it a go to see how it works. It’s a pretty good solution especially if you want to have consistent stitching on small leather projects. I’m not sure if someone else makes this on Amazon.

There's a very helpful Facebook group for CLSP owners. The post and 3D print file can be found here: m.facebook.com/groups/1646031288779869/permalink/2851168391599480/
