I will say themes and symbolism to Musashi
Well themes is subjective , but symbolism no , in the exhibition chapter musashi litterely talks about enlightenment , which is the most superior thing , he symbolizes how he got close to the absolute divinity , all we expirence is nothing but a path to reach the inevitable absolute , but musashi is the one who got close to it , none in anime manga have such a feat , maybe it's not shown completely in the manga , but it does show that to some degree in exhibition chapter , the real musashi has extremely well developed philosophy , before he died he wrote the 21 principles of life which are so deep and line perfectly with how one is when getting close to the absolute
Mori dont talk about symbolism, but Author show symbolism through manga (through Mori), Literally the only author who does that (Conveys meaning/atmosphere/symbolism/emotion through pictures without words)
