  • Two years ago I made an image of Guts, Thorfinn and Musashi talking in a campfire, no fight, just talking. I don't know why I forget about this image, it's true that in this two years my life has changed a lot, and when I was thinking about my next video I remember it. The edit was kinda meh, I'm not gonna lie, but the idea was cool, so cool to make a video about it.
But how I will do it? I never made a video like this. First of all I made the image again, it's the miniature of the video. Ok, looks good, I colored a little. This looks much better, maybe I have to make the video all colored. Worst decision of my life, I spent hours painting, erasing and cutting the characters (especially the hair, oh man, I hated with all my life)...
It would be cool that the characters speak, but I'm not a english native and I don't have friends to ask, so I only could make subtitles. I know it isn't the best way, but it's the only thing I can do. The video has to have sound, and music if it's possible. I'm so lucky to have a friend who is a sound designer, all the sound you hear in the video has been made by him, his name is below this text.
And now the video is finished, it was a hell. I don't know if people is gonna like it or hate it (I would rather prefer the first one) but I'm happy with the result. It was time for these 3 amazing characters to meet.
Just a fan project, I don't own the music, the images and the sounds on the video.
Mangas: Berserk from Kentaro Miura, Vagabond from Takehiko Inoue and Vinland Saga from Makoto Yukimura.

@@wudez Gottfried "Götz" von Berlichingen (1480 - 23 July 1562), also known as Götz of the Iron Hand, was a German (Franconian) Imperial Knight (Reichsritter), mercenary, and poet. He was born around 1480 into the noble family of Berlichingen in modern-day Baden-Württemberg. Götz bought Hornberg Castle (Neckarzimmern) in 1517, and lived there until his death in 1562.
Also he literally had iron prosthetics hand.
His name became famous as a euphemism for a vulgar expression (Er kann mich am Arsch lecken - "He can lick my ass")
So even though Miura actually didn't know there was an actual historic figure that had similarities like Guts, I think it I am pretty sure that Guts nationality or ethnicity was German. Maybe he spoke other language like old French considering 100 years of war between Chuder against Midland was likely inspired by actual hundreds years of war between French against British. So maybe Midland was like France in our world, but we don't know where Gambino found him and raised him. So I believe his native tongue was German

@@ryanfebrianto8973 you are right we can consider that the midland kingdom has the same borders as the Carolingian empire of Charlemagne and we can even push a little further by saying that Gaiseric is very historically inspired by Clovis the first king of the franks (even if the king of the vandals was also called Gaiseric, the geographical location does not really correspond, but I think that the two inspired the character), indeed Clovis was the first king to federate all the tribal clans under a single banner (small detail that do not deceive in chapter 53 ''the millennial stronghold'' Charlotte explains the little she knows about Gaiseric and we see a small battle scene between barbarian tribes with carnyxes, musical instruments used during battles by the Gauls ) all that to say that yes guts must surely speak Old French / German or Frankish a language spoken in all countries under the influence of the Carolingians

And about Gottfried, his born date just decades off from hundreds years of war timeline. If there was anything that summed up Guts' pain, it's that line right there.
It's important to note that Guts' reasons for hating Griffith have changed. Originally, he wanted revenge against Griffith for the wrongs he committed against him. It was a line of thought driven by his isolation, and fed the Hellhound in his soul. Now, he hates Griffith because he wants protect the people he loves.

But, even though I feel that, when it comes to Guts' need for revenge, I feel like his need for that revenge is very well justified. Not to say that others' revenge isn't, but more of what Griffith did is an unspeakable level of betrayal to a friend and his whole band. But in some way, I hope that Guts can overcome his trauma as well to not end up like the Skull Knight. Maybe Guts need his farm arc. That being said, great video! [The crackling fire lights up the night as the three warriors sit in a circle, the stars twinkling above. Musashi, Thorfinn, and Guts begin to open up about their experiences, their innermost thoughts, and their shared struggles.]
Musashi: [Gazing into the flames] You know, sometimes I wonder if my quest for strength has been worth the sacrifices. The battles I've fought, the lives I've taken... it all feels like an endless cycle of violence.
Guts: [Sharpening his sword] I understand that feeling all too well. The Brand of Sacrifice... a curse that binds me to an eternity of bloodshed. But even in the darkest moments, I hold onto the flicker of hope that drives me forward.
Thorfinn: [Looking up at the stars] My childhood was marked by revenge, consumed by the need to avenge my father's death. But as I traveled, I realized there's more to life than just seeking vengeance. There's a world beyond the shadows of hatred, and I want to find my place in it.
Musashi: [Nodding] It's true, isn't it? Despite our pasts, we continue to strive for something greater. I've come to understand that true strength lies not just in the sword, but in one's spirit and resolve.
Guts: [Gazing into the distance] For me, it's about finding a place where I belong, where I can finally rest. My journey has been one of survival, but I've met people along the way who've shown me the power of camaraderie and trust. It's a rare gem in a world full of treachery.
Thorfinn: [Softly] Yes, camaraderie... it's something I've come to value as well. I've learned that forging bonds with others can mend even the deepest wounds.
Musashi: [Smiling faintly] Bonds that endure the trials of life... they are what give us the strength to keep moving forward, to face the demons that haunt us.
Guts: [Exhales deeply] Demons we all carry within, both metaphorical and literal. But it's how we confront them that defines us.
Thorfinn: [Eyes gleaming with determination] Indeed. It's about transcending our own limitations and becoming more than the sum of our pasts.
[As the embers dim, the three warriors continue to share their stories, finding solace and understanding in each other's struggles, dreams, and the enduring spark of hope that flickers within.]

I hope someone can make a part 2, maybe it can start with Thorfinn introducing Vinland as the final destination of his journey, followed by Guts sharing his days on Elfhelm where he was able to restore Casca's memories and find a moment of peace(both Thorfinn and Guts did have a concrete destination in their dreams). Musashi can share his journey towards Kokura in Japan to show his growth in character, which echoes with Guts' experience as well(both are veterans who set out on a journey to re-discover themselves after military campaigns). However, I think Thorfinn will be more suitable to become the facilitator in this case as he is kind of a dreamer. This will br another dream dialogue which would focus about their purposes of life if it can be animated

The first time I was here,I only read Berserk and watched Vinland Saga season 1. I had no Idea how much impact this video really had.
Then I came back here again after finishing Vagabond. I got goosebumvs watching this and it felt like I was watching this video for the first time again. Follwing Musashi journey and how he developed was such an incredible story to read.
I didn't believed that Vinland Saga could top this, even though the anime is in my top 10.
Now I'm back after finishing Chapter 100 of Vinland Saga (after Thorfinn and Canute negotiate at the farm.)
I didn't wanted to believe it at first, but this was truly one of the best, if not THE best, Manga Arc I ever read. The developement Thorfinn has gone through is something I never in my life would've expected. He is a way different person now. This video already showed me a bit of his new self back then, but I never knew how and how much he will change.
I'm geniunly happy I started reading Berserk and didn't stopped, even though those dark themes are not really my cup of tea. Thanks to Berserk I discovered other Seinen masterpieces. I wouldn't really say "Oh I read these and now I'm a way different person.", but I definitely see some things in another perspective now.
"Rage and revenge is bad" is something I heard pretty much before and knew what it means and I read or watched other stuff, but nowhere I think I have seen a better way of learning this in Vinland Saga.
"Just keep going" is also something you hear pretty often see in stories how people push through. Be it with the "power of friendship" or just dedication. And Berserk is another great example what it means to keep pushing forward, to keep struggling. I'm seriously excited how his character will develop further after the recent chapter.
And for Vagabond,oh boy. When I first "Invincible is just a word." , I thought "Well duh, but it's also a title to show how powerful you are.". At the end I guess I got more of an idea what he meant with that and I loved how Musashi became a more calmer person and not someone who is "hunting down" one fighter after another.
    Enough rambling.
I will definitely come back to this video when I finish Vinland saga and I hope it will again feel line I would watch it for the first time :)
So for now I just wanted to share my thoughts at 2:30am :)
    ------ Checkpoint 4.11.2022 ------
Already finished Vinland Saga at the end of November, but anyway. Just wanted to come back because I didn't watched the second part yet and just wanted to let my last opinion on Vinland Saga here.
I absolutly loved what Thorfinn did in and with Vinland and how he proceeds to try building a good relationship with the natives. The arc isn't finished yet, but I hope Thorfinn can prove his ideals to the others, even though it looks like the others of the village slowly turn away from that peaceful ideal and man I have to talk about that scene with Hild and Thorfinn. Hild was a character I liked from the first chapter she appeared in, because she resembled Thorfinn so much in what he was before and I wanted to see how it turns out if Thorfinns dark past is catching up to him. Hild and Thorfinn meeting felt like young and old Thorfinn meeting. And then that one scene in Vinland where Hild and Thofrinn talk... god it brought a tear to my eye.
Don't want to talk too much and continue reading. I'm glad I finished reading the Big 3 of Seinen and I hope there will be more amazing stories in the future :,) Just 2 more days till an amazing Arc will be brought to anime :)

Regarding the part 3(which may be the final part), I have two different scenarios regarding the themes, but in both scenarios Guts would be the facilitator of the discussion:
    1) Importance of friends/companions
This scenario will start with Thorfinn recalling his memory of meeting Canute, his first and the dearest comrade he have ever met who inspired him to pick up his true self and a new purpose of life. When he was introducing Canute, his appearance and ambition reminded Guts of Griffith, so Guts followed by recalling how he became the closest friend of Griffith and Griffith being his first true friend to put his back on, how he inspired Guts to find his own purpose of life for the first time yet took away everything away from him for his sake of own dream. Musashi comforted him by telling his own story with his arch-enemy Kojiro, while Thorfinn understood why he held that much grudges and empathised with him by telling his feeling when he was first sent to the farmland by Canute, but he met his first companion Einar there and how he helped him rediscover himself and let go of his loneliness, even find more to form his own expedition team. Guts replied by continuing his story of how he was able to find the light again by reluctantly gathering a dozen of nakamas to form Black Swordsman Party to Elfhelm. Musashi also recalled how he made friends with Iori and Toyozaemon and set off towards Kokura. Guts finally concluded with how he was grateful about meeting these friends as he don't need to take this all alone and change to a better person while he influenced them, while the sun is rising. Thorfinn heard the call from Einar while Iori and Toyozaemon were calling Musashi and Schierke and Farnese were calling Guts. Realising that they have to soon continue their own journeys, the three protagonists bid a farewell, promising they will talk more about their adventures if they meet in the future.
    2) Struggling against the odds
This scenario will start with Guts telling that there was always odds in their ways, like how the brand attracted a lot of evil spirits, depriving him of his sleep every night to fight against them. As he was talking about this, the evil spirits surrounded all three of them, frightening Thorfinn and Musashi. They drive their weapons(knives and katana) towards the spirits but found the effort futile as the spirits have no physical body. When they waver even start being possessed by the evil spirits, guts saved them by throwing knives as the only one who is still standing. Guts encouraged them by saying, "You’re right, we are mortal and fragile. But even if we are tortured or wounded, we’ll fight to survive. The winner in each battle is always the last man standing.", then roar and slash the evil spirits again. After guts told them that fire and light are their weaknesses, their fighting spirits are lit up and struggled together through the night around the campfire until the sunrise. As the evil spirits dispelled, the exhausted trio became very close comrades, thanking Guts for saving their lives. Understanding what kind of world Guts has been into, Thorfinn and Musashi are astonished and convinced by Guts' indomitable will and his philosophy of keeping on struggling no matter how screwed up life is until there is a glimpse of hope. As they heard the calls from their respective comrades, they bid their farewell and thank each other for an unforgettable night. Talking around the campfire may not be Guts' thing, but it would be a better situation for him to deliver his own philosophy during the battle.

it's cool how they all fit in the same video since their mangaka's styles are so realistic they actually look real (and that leads to them fitting the same image)

A escuridão

I’m glad you like it! I like to think that they spent hours talking about their lives and eventually become friends. ¡ I hope we can see the end of these 3 stories sometime!
