Those who know this track well will know that there is so much improv, remixing and adjustments live on the fly here. It's technical genius how they crafted this and I love to see how much they enjoyed performing it!
I can't agree more with you. That's exactly my thoughts, too. We have two genius here fully enjoying their amazing art. Look at them ! They're totally possessed by their music, and so am I ! I'm just sad about one thing : i discovered this masterpiece only 2 months ago. Shame on me !
I remember reading a quote from Olafur that it became somewhat boring making house music, and I get that in comparison to the more subtle palette of his other work. But there is an incredible power in how crossover Kiasmos is - the soul and emotion in this, the shifts in mood during this epic track ... it's like being hugged while you dance and swoon all at the same time. Of all the Kiasmos songs, 'Bent' has this phenomenal edge with the heaviness of the beats, the distortion on the synth sound and the elegance of the piano riff. It feels like everything in being alive all comes together in that mix.
The synth layers before the ending climax are absolute perfection. I'm totally gobsmacked by such sensitivity, musicality. This is a taste of heaven, guys ! That masterpiece should be shared all over the world !
This is incredibly intense. I used to say that djs aren't real musicians but over the years I learnt to appreciate pieces of art like this and shit, there is a lot of passion and feelings on what these guys are doing. Thank you Kiasmos (and all the other amazing producers) for changing my mind
I'm listening now after that 2016 performance, but really they're amazing every time. My favourite performance of this will always be witnessing it live in 2015, at 4 in the morning, the last song of the whole festival while high on molly.
Authentic sleeping pill. You don't want it to ever finish! An explosion of emotions in one single track. Thare's nothing much to say after you listen to a masterpiece like this.
Indeed. Always gives me cold shivers with a warm twist. An amazing track. Maybe try this... First heard about 9 months ago and think it deserves more recognition. m.th-cam.com/channels/nIBRfSLBI32Y3ru56tndHA.html
This track is very good. The live version is epic and last 30 seconds you killed the time in space. It works like clockwork - I hear the end and my body is shaking in that powerful energy. Nice and strong. Hmmmm....
Man, they work together sometimes; check out this improvisation of Nils Frahm's "says" th-cam.com/video/acSdnfyIVaE/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=SorinPricop Enjoy!
They should make a visualitazion or a certain short movie with two people not speaking or a build up too something. this is soo good! (Like two lovers who are searching for eachother, and a tension when they meet eachother, or in a slowmotion move too eachother).
Oh... my.... god.... the jam after the formal "arrangement" was so intense ... it moved me. Guys, you can't stop this project, please, we need more intense emotions like that! On the technical side, that monster bass in Bent is from a bass station???!!! omg..!
This song is one of my guilty pleasures. It's essentially a sad hipster EDM. I think the whole concept is actually cheesy as hell but I can't help but be convinced and moved by it!!
Hey, nice $3,000 Juno-60. I guess it's more impressive looking than if you came out with 2 iphones and did 100% of this same sound, because most, if not all, of it is coming out of that $125 Novation Launch Control.
lmao - my favorite part is when the strings sample is happening at the rousing finale and he's frantically doing that bullshit "i'm reaching for knobs but not actually moving them" like he's playing the notes.
It's a masterpiece.
12:51 you can see his hands trembling. Probably so full of emotion and adrenaline. What a brilliant performance!
That means passion and love for music.
My favourite version of Bent

One of my favorite electronic pieces ever

This is moreso sound composition/sound engineering than it is DJing, but I agree - both are extremely skilled practices on the higher end of things
Man is not a dj, is fkn olafur
It's because it's not DJing at all... People have to understand that electronic music can be real music with a lot of instruments.
@@ignasisellartcombalia2259 ^^
they says djs arn't real people. unless its Olafur Arnolds. Also how is that djing??????
They came two years later to replace my favorite Bent live performance, thank you for existing
saaame
Are you guys talking about the Paris one?

The build-up of the Intro sounds like a whale calling as it passes you by.
A whale calling out, falling from space

Was hoping for more new stuff or more songs from the Album Blurred. Still good stuff :).

I'm not sure... The BS is capable of this, but Oli mostly use it in the shows as a midi controller.
Anyone know how to produce this sound with VSTs?
11:20 ❤😢
i am late but.its GREAT!
WWWOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW !

Where can i get this version???????
Wow, Olafur Arnalds!

Hello guys, please tell me what genre this is ? I totally love this space mood
minimal techno
@@samitpaudel7886 Its not that, this is Kiasmos...
There ain't a specfic genre that has Kiasmos sound, they make experimental electronic music with some organic melodic techno vibes
