jules keeps getting better and better as a technical singer. I used to think he was only average in that department, making up for it by having the coolest voice in the world, but its obvious that he's gotten really good at singing now.
I think that's what sells me as a fan. So many bands out there that have to make up for their music with stage presence. I love the idea of a band that is extremely intricate in their timing, transitions, precision, etc., and let the music completely speak for itself. The Strokes style is a futuristic-vintage sound, and their stage presence perfectly suits the style I think.
Great crowd! Nice job to everyone that was there. I saw em at acl last year and they were amazing! if anyone on here hasnt seen this band play live and the opportunity arises, take it because you definately wont regret it

I feel like he naturally is just a low energy person, but I do prefer that they're so laid back. It just adds to the persona of the band. They kind of have this "just focus on the music" approach.
There's that and the fact that Julian is drunk in almost every performance and music video..... Especially in the music video for "Last Nite"..... He was SERIOUSLY stoned.....
Oh god, the things I would do to see them in concert! Too bad I won't put up with all the crazy fans who trample over you for a view. But hey, who can blame them? They're the Strokes!
You do understand they pretty much write the anthem for stoners and soft rockers right? They should act stoned almost all the time. They have to have this "i could give less of a fuck" presence on stage, and they totally do! And they're fucking awesome!
i always feel like the strokes lack so much energy live. They're awesome musicians and kick ass, and this perticular performance is pretty good, but i just think they could do so much more. I know julian has the cool chill style, but he sometimes just seems to lack motivation and energy. I'd love to see a bit more stage presence!!

@MzUrieAtTheDisco It's because he stopped smoking/drinking. Technically, his voice is in better shape now but I actually prefer the way it used to sound, lol. He's healthier now though, so that's all that matters!
