I worked on a truck with a rear hydraulic lift platform and one of the guys I worked with had no toes. Evidently his foot was caught in the lift as it closed and scissored off the top of his foot. May I advise putting warning tape on the area where the lift meets the floor and a sticker that shows a foot being severed. This was a great video with some terrific ideas for DIY van builders. And these industrial railings for the storage are actually something that could be used more often in smaller houses, RVs. A differently coloured electrical outlets, a separate smaller switch for the red lighting - all "user friendly". And all of that with great artistic design. Wow.
i just love the ingenuity and problem solving they did to make this space theirs, from the customs made bed and sheets to the "murphy shower" lol. I think this project goes to show how efficient and comfortable you can get if you problem solve for your own needs in a space. Brava to Susan and Scott
This is my favorite episode yet! Love the "Camper"! Love all the wonderful ideas that produced the finished product. And I love the couple! And as always, you guys did an excellent job, with the questions and filming! Thank you for the quality shows! 💕
GENIUS - I have been trying to design a “Murphy shower” system to use in a micro apartment I’m designing/building next year. I’ve been looking at the RV flip down bathroom sinks & thinking/wondering how something similar could be used for a shower, I’ve even been looking into the marine sector as they have some excellent things for small spaces etc. It’s marvellous to finally see something this close to what I’ve been scouring the internet for. Also would be perfect for a van build!
And part of it tells them when to clean the solar panels? As @nikoTJ said, "Mind officially blown." But if they are a "Microsoft couple", that may help explain their way of problem solving? The truck came from Microsoft, but did they?
Regarding the shower, it's an ingenuous solution but I wonder if just having a large area that is designed to get wet and runs to a floor drain would be easier.
@@juandenz2008 good thought but as the shower area is a ‘thoroughfare’ you would either get your feet wet walking through or have to get down and dry the area before walking through which takes time & makes another cloth that needs drying - where as with this Murphy shower system you just close it up and any water/moisture is ‘gone’ off running/evaporating while all closed away
@@juandenz2008 Good Question. what @A J says below is spot on. Plus, the drain to the grey tank in under the sink (rookie mistake). If we had to do it again we would have put the drain by the shower. We would still use the shower pan. But, the pan would sit on the ground and not need legs. Make sense?

I'm grateful our trailer came w/ awesome features but eventually there are minimal changes I'd like to make; lipstick and rouge to make it 100% our own. Beyond that I also noticed a lot of RVs, trailers, 5th wheels, toy haulers, etc. come w/ those swooping paint designs. About a month ago I was talking to a guy staying in the lot next to me about it, asking why this was. He had no idea but he commented on my paint design. I told him I wanted to eventually change it but until then it was conscience effort to not have any of the "typical" swoops; I'm silver, matte black & blue with different thicknesses of pinstripes.

I’ve been designing work vans for my company for years now. I went from a full size Mercedes Sprinter van to a Ford Transit Connect. The sprinter was full of equipment. I was able to fit it all in the transit connect. Took me months if minor changes daily but I eventually got it super functional. Even more so then the large Sprinter. Learning to maximize space is a must. These guys did such a good job of it. Downsizing from a house to an RV. Really impressive. Early morning think time. I do something similar. But I’ll sit at the work vans open them up completely look at everything and think of ways to make them more efficient.
Amazing!! This took a lot of thinking and making. But, the result is so worth it.. stunning beauty and such comfort. Congrats to these lovely people and thank you for sharing, Kirsten.
After watching the first few minutes showing a quick overview of the video, I was close to turning off, glad I did not, what a great couple and a great home.
The creativity & use of space is impressive! The murphy shower is such a great small idea. I’ve been trying to figure out how to add a shower to my 30 ft. sailboat, this is a possibility. Knowing that they built a boat, they used so many features that are of a boat. This is very impressive.
Wow the coach is really a work of art the shower is brilliant just brilliant. And he's right water is weird it goes where it wants but it looks pretty solid the whole job on the coach is well done. Thanks for sharing.

First of all I’m a log cabin guy. Really don’t like that modern look, but that is by far the best thought out set up I’ve ever seen. I have gone back and forth on how to have a full size shower (or tub) in the trailer I’m about to start on. Personally I’d would have put it further back towards the bed/toilet area, otherwise I’m sold. I’m gonna see if I can make a tub adapt to that idea with a shower. Of course you could only use it if in a park due to water capacity, but nothings better than a super hot bath after a freezing cold hike or hunt. The Murphy bed was an idea I adopted quite a few videos ago, and it’ll have a drop down back wall that makes a porch with an awning. Pretty sure this just answered a few remaining questions. Great video. And although the design isn’t my thing, the set up is freakin awesome. And the kids room is genius 🤣😂😅
Reminds me of how much fun it was to work with people like these at Microsoft. Thoughtful, inventive, attentive. Loved it. And love to see what they've done and their thought process.

So clever, in the multi-usable features throughout the Rig. They really put a lot of thought into their Creation - "Clyde"! Keep Rolling!

Learning to maximize space is a must. These guys did such a good job of it. Downsizing from a house to an RV. Really impressive. Early morning think time. I do something similar. But I’ll sit at the work vans open them up completely look at everything and think of ways to make them more efficient.
This has got to be one of the best conversations I've ever seen. Beautiful job that's absolutely amazing.
The first thing I noticed on the video was the awesome paint scheme!!
I love the ingenuity that people put into these!
Awesome build. The Murphy shower is awesome.
Man oh man! What a fabulously excellent Rig & Home! Impressive. Congratulations on a job well done. ✨👏😁💐☀️
This is really well-done. BRAVO. Dozens of commercial RV designers will steal a lot of these wonderful ideas.
That design has some brilliant ideas incorporated into it.! Loved your shower as bd sink!
The man is a genius. I have watched many videos about people going off grid in a camper but none matches these people who built their own rig. WOW!!!
I just passed them on the freeway recently and wondered what the vehicle was. What a surprise to see them here in your channel! Clyde's decoration is the opposite of camouflage for me. It caught my eye and intrigued me. What an amazing project! Bravo!!
AnnickGR So glad you spotted Clyde. Where were you when you saw Clyde? We are attending the Northwest Tandem Rally this Memorial Day weekend in Sequim WA. So nice to attend the event in Clyde and have all the comforts of home at the end of each day of riding.
Bravo Scott and Susan! You are both amazing people. Thank you Kirsten and your family for bringing us these wonderful, professional and down to earth stories about real people. The planet Earth needs more people like you. Have a very beautiful day!
Amazingly clever engineering! Simply genius design. I've never seen anything like it. It's aesthetic, & pragmatic at the same time.
This was heart warming and mind blowing from an engineering standpoint. Thanks!
Reminds me of how much fun it was to work with people like these at Microsoft. Thoughtful, inventive, attentive. Loved it. And love to see what they've done and their thought process.
Loved the video & what they did to Clyde. It looks like they addressed every necessary need. The Dehydrator closest & shower especially intrigued me.
I love the owner of that bus how he is talking so comfortably wow love it 💖
It is amazing what people can accomplish with a "can do" attitude. Thanks for sharing!
And GIGANTIC TALENT! I have can do attitude but no real expertise.
This was very well thought out !! Thank you for providing this content !!!
Genius, great concepts put into play! Love it! You have nailed a quality R.V. into a package that 'works' for you. As they say: "Ta-DA"! Well done, Scott & Susan Burbank are incredibly talented! So clever, in the multi-usable features throughout the Rig. They really put a lot of thought into their Creation - "Clyde"! Keep Rolling!
Amazing. So complex. There are ideas here for everyone.
Very impressive! I so would love to see our country and visit our beautiful parks like that!!! Way to go!!👍🏼🇺🇸
Homes with "soul", thanks Kirsten for the amazing people you search for. Long life for this couple.
