I’ve found this super helpful because real rolling doesn’t look exactly like drilling. The concepts are the same but the positions get murky. So seeing the system work under pressure over and over with variation introduced is so engaging and illuminating. Thank you and keep it up!!!

I'm a blue belt and this might be the best side control escape video I've watched. You accurately show just how difficult it is to escape side control while narrating your way through your escapes. Very well done! I have a greater appreciation for underhooks now.

Brilliant. Definitely need the GI version with Alex. Maybe even escaping different variations of side control too as this is my least favorite position and hardest to escape especially when the guy is bigger/stronger. Thanks again man!!!

I see side control I clicked. I've learnt so much escape of side control from Andre Galvao, Marcelo Garcia, Brian Peterson, Rener Gracie, Alexander Ribeiro, but there's one thing I miss. All the escape I've learnt is from same size opponent not bigger stronger and more skill. The last time I got in side mount position a 265lbs dude pinned me and I can't move All the techniques I've learnt gone in seconds. Any tips for me sir?

3:43 Huge revelation for me. Losing control of your arm caused a huge chain reaction of trying to scramble out of a submission attempt only to have your back taken. Whenever you post live rolling videos you are almost never having to fight out of a submission attempt. That tells me that keeping control of your arms is absolutely critical. But then again, you always tell us this. Just good to see a live example.

I like this style of informational video!! Very cool! Good audio. I am a purple belt and struggling to get to the next level by understanding how to off balance my partner to be more offensive in guard.

Thank you! 🙏 And ya, purple belt is a difficult one lol. Try to focus on one position/technique chain for a prolonged period of time, try to nail it. And then move on to something else. That way, you'll progress faster. 🙂

Yes yes and yes definitely need a Gi version! Something I'm trying to work on! It would be nice to get an in depth side control guide done by you! 🙏

Number one challenge for the last 8 months since I started is being stuck under a strong side control, thanks for the video!
