Hey joe, about what you told about straw prices/cost. We order it all in trade, comes from germany or northern france to us in the Netherlands. Costs so far 115euro/ton delivered, probably goes up to 125 for the next couple loads. But at that price we barely can buy, bale and transport it locally. And less weather stress too 😅.

With your impending staff shortages you could sell some straw as it’s making good money and cut your stock numbers slightly you haven’t even got to the shed straw and it six months and harvest.
Cut stock numbers.... never! We have a lot of straw because we return it to the arable farmers as muck, so its not really an option, if we wanted it to be.
