    Thanks for the help. I got stuck at a gas station 125 miles from home bc the belt suddenly shredded off. Very fortunately there was an autoparts store in the same lot and they lent me tools, and your video told me what to do with them 👍🏻

      Nothing like a good old parts store parking lot repair! Nice guys for lending tools to let you get home!

    Thanks for the information. My belt had been complaining severely and finally failed tonight. Made it to the parts store on the battery and then home and with your videos help. Done and done. Thanks again.

    Mine broke on my way to work. It was dangerous, but I was able to pull it over and walk the rest of the way. Picking up the belt after work,thanks for the quick tutorial.

      Was it noisy before or did it just let go with no warning?

    Bro mine the bolt snapped that goes from the alternator to the alternator tensioner. The battery light was on because the belt was off due to the tensioner snapping the bolt. Now I have a broken bolt inside my alternator. Trying to see if I can remove the bolt because that is a heavy duty metal bolt. Couple of my bits snapped trying to remove it.
    I do have the alternator out of the car. Just trying to not have to spend hundreds on an alternator over a stupid broken bolt.

    How did you verify correct tension? How is that jacking the belt helps with that? Thanks

    Help! I’m doing this at the car parts place now and need to buy the tools. What size are the bolts? 13 mm?

    • @ResearchDesignBuild
      @ResearchDesignBuild  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      10mm, 12mm, 13mm, 14mm and 17 mm and you can do almost anything on an import car

    Does anybody have an idea how long the bolt is supposed to be? My belt came loose while driving and I was able to tighten it back up. Unfortunately the next day or so I was driving to work and it came loose again!
    I would greatly appreciate if somebody had an answer!

    • @ResearchDesignBuild

      I'm not sure how long the bolt it but you should be able to get 5 or more full rotations of the bolt when tightening it. There should be good thread engagement. If you are only getting a couple turns before it is tight then maybe the bolt go swapped out by someone and it is too short. Generally these bolts don't need lock-tite and if torqued correctly will not come loose.

    how do you adjust the belt tension?

    • @hahaimslow
      @hahaimslow ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Loosen the tall looking bolt on the bracket in between the alternator and the power steering pump along with the bolt that intersects it on the bottom of the bracket.

    This video should be in the children's section not to be confused with adults so already know how to change belts i was great Could you do it again but slower so I could get every detail exaggerating when you're looking for something technical and all you get is child's play
