Oscar, I have been watching your videos from the start as I would also like to build my own expedition vehicle soon. I have some questions and maybe you can make some videos for them... 1) what is your background that you are able to build like this, 2) what tools are necessary and their cost, 3) when you made the body panels, why was expansion such an issue and why don't we see that in other videos of expedition trucks, is it because you used steel instead of aluminum? Will you be building a back spare tire/ cargo box, and bike(s) rack & lift?
@@livingworkingoutsidebox yes I will build a rack for spare wheel and bike, but after I placed the box on the truck. In case of the truck as higher the loading capacity is the stiffer the springs will be, you be the judge if this is needed.

Traveling around the Florida coastline then going up the East coast. Mostly enjoying water sports. Our daughter surfs 🏄♀️. I no longer can. So I do the bobbing in the water with the GoPro. 🤣😅👣🌊
I'm talking with some water sports companies for incorporating a jet surfboard and foil board with some jetskis. This way I can still enjoy the water with my daughter. 👍🎥🎬
So we will need to figure out how to carry a couple of jetskis and all the boards. Luckily the boards are easier to carry.👍💪😉

I am considering to get the same Truck (MB 1222 AF) as a base for a travelling/camping expedition truck, my father had a similar one (1422) and the distinctive NA V6 Sound has burned in my ears, even when a 1224 with a much smaller I6 Turbo would not be that high in fuel consumption and more reliable. Planning to get it within 3-5 Years (maybe earlier, depends how fast the private family plans will success).
I have the luck to get one easier, in Germany I sit in the source of these trucks.
My plan is to keep the large cabin as it is, me, my wife and at least two kids should be able to come with, maybe in future a dog and so on, so enough space for everyone. And when it is not used as seats, the cabin could be used as a livingroom and bedroom, too. The isolation and heating must be taking care of due to changing climate conditions (well, typical for Europe), but there will be a solution.
As an 'old' firefighter and fan of old and distingtive original looking vehicles and reusing of old things I will try to keep the back storage space of equipment, pump and watertank in an exterior original look and bulid in kitchen/toilet/shower etc. what is necessary to be independent in case. Surely there will be compromises, but I guess the result will be great for me and my family.
Even when I'm not an expert & haven't began yet, I am excited!

Things like searching for and bidding on your truck, collection in Germany and preparation for shipment, choosing a shipping company, bonded transportation from Seattle to BC, importation into Canada... did you have friends in Germany to help at the beginning? Or did you contract an agent/company for this work?
