  • Nathan Millard was like many people who come to Baton Rouge, to spend one night in Baton Rouge for work. The husband and father was in BR for work. But his visit is full of mystery clouded in darkness. Twists and turns have unraveled insecurities of the city we call home.

agree. Everything is everyone else's fault. What happened to this man is terrible and should not have happened. For the life of me though, and I say this as someone who was married to an addict, I cannot imagine why he made some of the decisions he made. From the strip joint on, it is a descent into real danger, especially in a city that he was not familiar with. It is great he has a lot of friends and family who cared deeply, but let's be real here, this is not the first time this man acted this way

    • @Jenn_80

That's probably why he married her. His first wife probably left him because of his addiction and then he married his second wife because she was willing to be in denial about it.
I feel sorry for his grown kids reading on the internet about his behavior and he died naked because he was with prostitutes in a crack house and shooting up drugs and died for it.

I agree. And I hope he had been sober for 15 months like he told his good friend. I think he got caught up in being with a client that he liked, thought he could have "a few drinks" on fun night that included a basketball game but his addiction kicked in. We won't know if he asked anyone about a prostitute or if he was aware he was taking drugs or if he asked to buy drugs initially. Just a tragic story and ending.

Derrick Perkins has already given the Police a report on the cause of death, which was an accidental drug overdose and the drugs that were used during his last hours, prior to death... This will help Forensics experts determine what drugs to test for in his system and make their jobs much easier when determining the cause & manner of death... Derrick Perkins was at the wrong place at the wrong time when allegedly flagged down by an unidentified man, because he was a known Drug Dealer; and another man introduced Nathan Millard to a prostitute... Police documents say Millard refused help from a security guard at the bus station, with him allegedly telling the worker he was looking for "something to make him feel better" and "a girl to take back to his room."

He shouldn't had acted so irresponsibly during a business trip out of state... He was more interested in finding drugs & a prostitute, rather than finding his phone to call his wife and let her know that he was o.k. He had a business meeting that morning at 8:00 a.m but was in the car with a drug dealer, prostitutes & a homeless man, at 4:30 a.m the morning of 23 Feb 2023... His priorities were in the wrong place at that time...

I live close to Baton Rouge and If that man really cared about his family, he wouldn't have found the drugs that killed him. Along with 2 prostitutes and the dealer that rolled him up on plastic than a rug. When I first heard about this and where he was staying I knew at was drugs. Cuz they have an ATM at that Hotel. What he put his family through is heart wrenching.

Personally he could have done drugs or even just completely drunk to the point he stripped off, got cold and just found anything to keep warm and died from the elements, it doesn't state he was wrapped in a rug like a jam roly poly then wrapped in plastic the same, he could have just thrown the rug around himself on the floor and used the plastic to stay dry too. He was obviously lost

First thing they said they don't suspect foul play was involved really did they think he wrapped himself up in the carpet or did they think that it means nothing if somebody moves the body? baton Rouge screwed the pooch on this one 2nd red flag the witness who found the body called and 3 am did they even investigate the caller to see if he knew more then he was letting on? Did they think that a phone which had his locations information call logs and text messages that could've placed him at locations were unimportant? He is seen in a stolen car with random people a low life and a prostitute really no connection there? His family needs to hire a pi and sue the s*** out of baton Rouge police. Dude was a recovering alcoholic not a drug addiction so anyone questioned why all of a sudden he wanted drugs instead of going to another bar? Even though all his friends and family said he was very charismatic and easy going on alcohol? Why didn't they take the rug that they could've pulled DNA off of to identify the responsible party? Very lazy detective work and someone needs to lose there job got it

The Police is getting their information from the Coroner, based on autopsy report and after speaking with witnesses... Based on that evidence, it has been determined that no foul play took place... He should've went back to his Hotel room after leaving the Pub, which was a 2 minute walk away... Instead, he chose to hang out all night on Florida Boulevard near the Greyhound Bus Station looking for drugs and a prostitute per witnesses...

Nathan was a doting husband and father yeah, but i think he got some silly-ass ideas once he hit the town. I mean, the hotel he was staying at was sure to have a bar, so why after hanging with his friend, did he venture out into the town, alone, Sounds like he was fishing for action, loitering.. probly checked out Craigslist to meet fishy chicks... WOAH, 4:11 A gentlemans club?? Nathan fell into temptation and ran into people, places and situations he couldnt control.

10 weeks toxicology test but you can get a DWI even with refusing a breath test by way of a blood draw that day.

They need an independent autopsy although this doctor seems very competent. Also, I’m wondering if Millard was looking for drugs? A woman? A guy? Did the bartender who kicked him out spike his drink? An accomplice? Blood work oughta be interesting.

If he had went straight to his Hotel room which was a 2 minute walk from the Pub, this wouldn't have happened... Instead he decided to hang out all night on Florida Boulevard near the Greyhound Bus Station looking for drugs & a prostitute, per several witnesses statements & Police reports... It doesn't appear that anyone was targeting him... He willing got in the car with Derrick Perkins, the homeless guy & prostitute(s) on Florida Boulevard and at the gas station...

A well dressed out of town business man under the influence but not “Under Distress” (how does he know?! He’s inebriated!) wanders out of the safe downtown area and she doesn’t think it’s her business to call the police. He’s lost his phone. Hes asking where his hotel is. He hides his debit card like he’s being followed Smh 🤦‍♀️ I don’t care if he did go down there looking for drugs. (And I don’t believe that he was) She should have done something!

If that man was to drunk to walk then how the hell could he go buy drugs from a homeless guy,who then find to prostitutes, come on now make it make sense why would that man break his sobriety,on a business trip, somewhere in another state, were he don't nowhere to go, he's drunk, but his buddy leaves him, then he ended up dead, I'm really starting to think that his homie set him up allegedly, but everybody sitting up here saying oh I guess he lived a double life, the man was so f-uck up he ended up at the greyhound station saying he think someone was following him, in the lady at the greyhound station had to help him find his way back to the hotel,in she lets him leaves out the back door,So do that sounds like someone that wanna get high,if he was so dizzing in drunk, we're is they he almost got hit buy a car, sounds like someone drugged him at the bar allegedly, in another thing how they keep saying drugs , when the man had a alcohol problem

You would think that since he was in Baton Rouge, LA on a business trip, his employer would be making a big issue about his death, as well, and demanding a big investigation into this case...
