Just a tip from years of working with resin, keep contact between the stir stick and bottom of the cup while stirring. Continually picking up the stick, especially by pulling it out of the resin, presents more air and therefore more bubbles. I do love the soap dishes!

Are there any fumes to be worried about after the resin is mixed? Also have you figured out your cost to make them? I love them, so beautiful and I love the it is a project my daughter could help with.

Yes! Since I work with resin I'll answer. There are a lot of safety concerns. Resin truly isn't something kids should be doing unless they are all suited up with PPE

These are so adorable, but resin is not something kids should be doing unless they are all suited up with PPE and know how to handle this toxic product. I work with resin and there are a lot of safety concerns

Hi :) Thanks for sharing this. I'm actually in the process of trying to buy the items to share this type of project with my two littles. I think this is something fun and interesting that we can do as a family. We are always looking for new crafty projects :) The link to the molds gives me a mixed lot of 5 molds. I would really like to find molds that are all the rectangle shape to fit soaps (Momma is a soap crafter!). Do you have a link to the molds that you are using that would come in one size or multiples of the same size?
    Thank you!
    Tracy

The only place I am able to find ONLY rectangle molds is on eBay, and they come from China (so it takes awhile). You can search on eBay perhaps?

Awesome idea! But you wash the pebbles first, right? Did you try some natural dye with the resin, would be interesting how the resin reacts...

Yes, we pre rinsed them. We have used alcohol inks in resin coasters and it was amazing! We tried in a soap dish and it wasn't stellar, but that was user error. :)

I use the TH-cam audio library and I also order songs off of audio jungle. Kind of expensive, but potentially worth it.

I think these are excellent and would like to make some to accompany my artisan soaps. So far though I have only been able to find molds that come in a variety pack (lots of shapes/sizes I don't want and one I do). Your link above goes to one of those variety packs. Do you by any chance still have the name of the supplier you bought them from? Also would you be willing to post the dimensions of the mold you are using? Thanks so much for sharing this!

Hi Julie, would you mind sharing where to get those stones? I'd like to get a nice amount so bulk is better :) Loved the video.

The child who took the time to place one in at a time was following instruction and getting the bigger ones on the outside. That is a sign of a quality craftsperson.

Would washedbeach sand at the bottom and pebble art work above it with this type of resin?
I am assuming you want some of the pebbles to stick out slightly above the resin layer so the soap does not slide off?

Is this food grade resin? As in the one used for cookware or dishes
