I hope you continue doing what you love doing and I am more than certain you are a loving and caring father. Let's hope that we can continue to live and feel life as best as we can, our best wishes to you.
Aidan Montondon I highly doubt that he'll believe now that he loses someone he loves. And I'm positive he didn't do anything that may have 'angered someone up there'.
I adore this piece so much. I am recovering from a serious car accident and listening to this always makes the pain just a little more bearable. Thank you so much!
When I had my stroke, I lived in a world full of hazey circumstances and when words failed me, God brought me a melody of hope. This reminds me of that beautiful journey of overcoming the impossible. Learning to read, write, walk and talk again and now running 7 miles in 70 cities and doing photography, painting, poetry and martial arts demonstrations. Nothing is impossible with God's grace. Bless you all and never ever give up!
The original comment is in Korean: This song must be left in history FOREVER Jon Schmidt, you made an amazing song. You might not be able to read this comment(because it's in Korean), but this song really made my day. Thank You!
This was my dads most favourite piano song in the world, I’ve made it my mission to learn how to play it. I know it would have made him proud. What a brilliant piece of music!
I chose to learn this song last year even though I knew it would be incredibly challenging, but it is still, by far, my favorite song I have ever played. Every time someone asks me to play them a song I always play this one. This song is the most challenging song I have ever played, but by far the most rewarding. It has been months since I performed it and I still get people congratulating me on this song. So if you play the piano, I would definitely recommend that you learn this song. It is challenging, takes lots of time and patience to learn, but is well worth hearing the incredible sound coming out of that piano, and the reaction when people think you are trying to kill the piano with your forearm. I am incredibly thankful for Jon Schmidt, and I will always remember this song as the song that broke me down and built me up again, and this song takes (as the name implies) all of you to learn and play correctly, but also makes you feel accomplished.
+Eric Mailes Right on! This is one the most intelligent comments I've ever seen on TH-cam- I hope Jon reads it. I also hope these fine men continue to do what they're doing for a very long time- their work is nothing short of extraordinary and absolutely inspiring, especially to musicians (including this aging piano hack) Personally, I am building my way up to tackling this song for the reasons you mentioned above- I look forward to the day when I can join the ranks of those who not only can play this song, but play it well!
When you work hard and put in effort, it's called skill. When you're born with it, it's called talent. Clearly the piano is an extension of Jon's body, and music flows through his veins. I watch this once a week at least and never get tired of it. I'm attempting to learn it, but have zero interest in the sheet music. I want to play it like he does, and there's no sheet music for that. It will be a long process, but I feel the more I brainwash it into me, the easier it will become. In the meantime, I enjoy watching Jon play it over and over and over. Truly inspiring...
Michaela B It's not hard to come up with basic chord progressions or one note melodies. This has a simple melody, and a simple chord progression. He probably just came up with those. Then to help organize his thoughts, he'd write down the melody and decide what he wanted to do with the rest of the chords, where to play the various parts, etc. Then to play it fast and with dynamics, all it takes is practice. Where Jon excels is in his expression. You look at America's got talent and there are three year olds playing flight of the bumblebee incredibly fast. But they don't express themselves at all. That's why Jon is amazing.
i’ve always loved this song but recently me and my dad were doing homework at our university together (he takes online classes but he came to visit) and someone started playing this song in the cafeteria so we went over to listen and it was definitely a core memory that i’ll always have with my dad. i love that music can create such beautiful memories and moments in our lives❤
Because of this video I started to gain interest in playing the piano. Now I am doing a masters in piano and I give a big thanks to you guys because without this video I wouldn't have discovered how beautiful playing the piano is. I'm simply in love with you thank you so much for your inspiration you give to people like me.

It was the summer of 1993. I went to EFY up at "Ricks" and Jon was one of the nights' entertainment events. I remember the paper bag trick, playing under the keyboard hands crossed, and I remember loving "Waterfall" more than any song I had ever heard. I was hooked. It has meant so much watching Jon throughout his career. And yes, Jon, I still listen to August End and Walk in the Woods on CD to this day. So do my kids. Their kids will too. Thanks for the music, Jon. God Bless.
Just played this at a recital. Never felt this good during a performance. Something about this piece just gets your heart beating . Edit: playing this tonight in my senior recital as my last song ever in highschool. Thanks Jon, for everything.
Found this song in 2008/2009, and it is still the best piece of music I have heard. I have played it on my familys piano ever since, and I dream of a day where I can play it even close to Jons level. Still one of the most inspiring people in my life today❤
My brother played this to end his senior recital and he had so much passion he brought everyone including my dad to tears. This song is just amazing to listen to and it is one of my favorite piano songs ever.
I have been learning the piano for over 3 years. This was one of the songs that made me want to learn. Today I can play it, thanks for the inspiration to pursue a dream John
I have watched this video at least 50 times to be honest, it gets better every time. Thank you Jon for your inspiring musical abilities. It keeps me going and wanting to do more.
I had a piano recital today, and a 14 boy played this exact song! It was beautiful and amazing!!! I now have a goal to be able to play this song to make people feel the same joy I felt today!
Really incredible. I just had to sit in silence for a little while after hearing it. This seems like what would play at the end of the most epic movie of all time. Right after the climax. This would have to be one of the times when the visuals adapt to the music, instead of the other way around.
I will be in Kentucky to hear the most heartfelt and inspirational music on the planet (IMHO). I will be honored to sit, listen and weep with joy. Thank you, great talents.
I've known this song for around 20 years, and it's still my favorite piano solo piece. So much raw emotion able to be conveyed thru its playing or even thru listening to it. Jon Schmidt is a master.
I fell in love with this song but I knew I was not even close enough to play this song. So I actually started to remember my lessons from 11 years old and started playing any music I could get more at my level. I trained myself to read regular c major chord music and to train my left hand and eyes to fluently read music for both hands. After a year of training of many fast paced music with a lot of painful flats, I was near tears yesterday when I could read the sheet music and play it easily with my right hand. I really feel accomplished after this one year of self training just for this one lovely song. Yesterday was just the start, I hope to practice enough to play the song with both my hands completely!! Thank you so much Jon for giving me a goal and motivation to play the piano for the first time in 7 years!!! I am know in love with the piano thanks to this song. A thousand gratitudes and loves my hero!!!
Luc Sapthu I have grade 8 piano and have learned 3/4 of this piece is a week without a teacher. It’s really easy to read and fun to play so practicing it’s a breeze, you’ll find it’s not as intimidating as it sounds
I was actually moved to tears hearing this. It is so sad that we as people can be so amazingly gifting in doing such astounding works, yet the world is tearing apart with hate and war. If only everyone would pick up an instrument instead of a gun....
Man, I keep coming back to this song so often. It's amazing how such a compiled masterpiece is executed to perfection. 🤯 Hats off and kudos to him! Hope he's doing well right now. 🙌🏻
I just watched this with my two daughters. A-mazing! I never get tired of hearing this song, and that is very rare for me with any other group but the Piano Guys!
I watched that ages ago. But I keep coming back to it. I'm 37 and I regret that my family hadn't got enough money to send me to next stage music school. I couldn't afford my instrument. I couldn't afford private secondary music school. Today I'm watching him and first time in my life - I'm jealous. I know I could be as him as my teachers told me many times I'm very talented person. But... I wasn't lucky to grow it. Now because I had to choose different way in my life, my hands are done. Carpal tunnel syndrome with permanent nerve damage. Well, at least my hearing is ok and I can still listen to you, with my eyes wet... Thanks for all you're doing ❤❤❤

It's been years I've been watching and listen this video. I never get bored of it. It always given me energy after I watch and listen. Hope someday I could met this guys in person. Thanks guys ... you helped me so much.
i’m almost sixteen and have been playing since i was nearly six, and this has been my favorite piece to play for more than two years now. it’s not the hardest or the most impressive, but it’s the happiest and the most beautiful, and when i play it, i feel like i can breathe :)
I love this piece. Found it way back searching for Jon Legend's song. As time has passed I come back to this again and again, and never Jon Legend lol.
This song was the song that began my intense love for music. I was 9, in grade four, and my teacher would play this on the piano when we were being too loud. I went home and watched this video, and I’ve been playing/writing music for 10 years now. I even auditioned for AGT! I owe it all to Jon Schmidt…
I feel like this piece is one of a kind. When I first heard it, I thought it sounded very unique, no other piano piece I had heard at that time sounded like this one. Amazing, will definitely learn this.
I love this song so much, I learned it when I was playing piano only 1.5 years and after 8 years I still think its the most impressive song I can show people. It is the most fun to play out of any I've learned, I'll never get sick of it. Thank you Jon, you are a huge inspiration to me!
Jon, once again, I am in awe of the talents God has bestowed upon you. You render each note with such intense passion and yet an indescribable tenderness that I, as one who so appreciates your giftedness, can feel with every fiber of my being. You have an innate sense which encapsulates your thoughts and innermost feelings of your heart allowing them to flow through your graceful hands onto a keyboard in the most unique way. I wish we could meet sometime so I could give you a big “hug” of thanksgiving for sharing yourself with the world. The “Works of your Hands” touch me like no other. God Bless you Jon! ~Sherry
Frithjof Edwardsen that's actually just an expression, meaning "this is how I feel, if you drew a picture of me draw my face in a shocked expression" However I can see how you would make that mistake seeing how it is a colloquial term used only everywhere
jellogirl2010 Are you kidding? Just for you to know, this song was composed only by Jon, it has nothing to do with the other All of me by John Legend....
This is one of my favorite Jon Schmidt songs along with "Waterfall" from his days before he joined The Piano Guys. I made a New Years Resolution for 2021 to try and finally learn how to play it. I have been playing piano for over 20 years but havent been able to master this song yet. It's extremely difficult to play and is so fun to listen to.
+Marika Raines I have little hands, the most I can do in 1 hand is an octave. If I try really hard I can make a 9th. I'm learning it right now, and I substitute the 9th's with 8th's. Keep going! You can do it!
It's heartbreaking that a man who inspires with his music has to endure such devastating loss. Searches teams were called off recently for his missing daughter.
I have listened to this piece so many times, and it never fails to blow me away! Such talent and a beautiful thing to hear. This makes me think about God, and everything wonderful comes from Him! 🙏🏻

I love how he isn't even concentrating! He is just feeling it and going with the flow. Very talented musician right there!
Just played this at a recital. Never felt this good during a performance. Something about this piece just gets your heart beating
.
@Hamza Boughaleb don’t put this horrible comment in such a beautiful comment

I have been learning the piano for over 3 years. This was one of the songs that made me want to learn. Today I can play it, thanks for the inspiration to pursue a dream John
I have watched this video at least 50 times to be honest, it gets better every time. Thank you Jon for your inspiring musical abilities. It keeps me going and wanting to do more.
I have never felt so much emotion from a form of art. No words and yet it speaks so clearly.
I had a piano recital today, and a 14 boy played this exact song! It was beautiful and amazing!!! I now have a goal to be able to play this song to make people feel the same joy I felt today!
This is my favorite example of being in the zone. Pure joy. Super talented.
Really incredible. I just had to sit in silence for a little while after hearing it. This seems like what would play at the end of the most epic movie of all time. Right after the climax. This would have to be one of the times when the visuals adapt to the music, instead of the other way around.
I've never heard the John Legend song but I've listened to this 5 to 10 times at least.
Its not a John Legend song though, its by Jon Schmidt (the person performing it)
Muen Wang He's Jon "The Legend" Schmidt
Muen Wang
If you read it again you'll see that this person already knew it wasn't the song by John Legend
***** I know, I get that. I was making an allusion to Jon Schmidt, because he is almost a legend!
Raphael Cozzi
i was talking to Muen Wang not you lol
*The very best about this song is how alive and dedicated this guy is!*
It's basically the quintessence of a musician. So beautiful to witness!
Seeing him play brings tears of joy in my eyes! You just feel his love for the music through the screen :)
Luc Sapthu Especially the rythm Part with the interference of left and right AT the beginning is Hard... Thats were i always strggle
Make a cover video
I was actually moved to tears hearing this. It is so sad that we as people can be so amazingly gifting in doing such astounding works, yet the world is tearing apart with hate and war. If only everyone would pick up an instrument instead of a gun....
So amazingly beautiful !
I first of all dont understand why you are crying like wut. Next humans invented musical instruments and weapons
A firearm is an instrument, Not only for war but for defense and providing food on the table.
and i was moved by this comment.
@Reed Richards ok
Man, I keep coming back to this song so often. It's amazing how such a compiled masterpiece is executed to perfection. 🤯 Hats off and kudos to him! Hope he's doing well right now. 🙌🏻
Absolutely love hearing this song and waterfall over and over again. The piano Guys are amazing
I just watched this with my two daughters. A-mazing! I never get tired of hearing this song, and that is very rare for me with any other group but the Piano Guys!
2020 quarantaine gang listening to some old good music👇
Yeah, started learning this to fill time!
My menthor ❤❤❤❤
You know what’s good
I think I'll never get tired of this video
Me too
I watched that ages ago. Thanks for all you're doing ❤❤❤
summer, river flows in you,
@@Kko_Nyang_ 감사합니다..
Even years after I first saw this, I still love it. Such a great piece.
This just makes me happy!!!
Playing the piano has never looked so blissful nor exciting. This guy literally rocks.

He seems to be very happy on his piano.I wish every musician could be like him.
Super cool... He`s really enjoing it
I love this piece. Found it way back searching for Jon Legend's song. As time has passed I come back to this again and again, and never Jon Legend lol.
I still play this song on a regular basis. Thank you for teaching it to me in person, Jon! Your originals will always be my favorites.

It only gets better to come back and experience this gift of yours again. I thank you very much for living it.
Brilliant pianist and wonderful recording. He makes it so fun to watch him play! 👏🏼 lots of enthusiasm and talent.
No one is this perfect but Jon.
there's something wrong with this video... YOU CAN JUST LIKE IT ONCE!!!! i wanna give this video a many many thumbs up!!!!! this is sooo gooodd!!!!
Jon Schmidt has won the internet.
I love this song so much, I learned it when I was playing piano only 1.5 years and after 8 years I still think its the most impressive song I can show people. It is the most fun to play out of any I've learned, I'll never get sick of it. Thank you Jon, you are a huge inspiration to me!
god bless jon and his family for there dear loss off his daughter annie may god be with yous and never give up.
~Sherry

I was 17 when I first heard this Song that made me fall in love with the piano now I am 26.
Oh no. What happened? Why did you have to change your name??😝
Now I am 16,this song is made me fall in love with the piano, too.
I HAD NO FREAKING CLUE HE HELPED COMPOSE IT! COLOR ME SHOCKED!

that's actually just an expression, meaning "this is how I feel, if you drew a picture of me draw my face in a shocked expression" However I can see how you would make that mistake seeing how it is a colloquial term used only everywhere
Josie Peare Boom! nice one xD
jellogirl2010 Are you kidding? Just for you to know, this song was composed only by Jon, it has nothing to do with the other All of me by John Legend....
Kristof is the only nice one in this comments in this chat box
This is one of my favorite Jon Schmidt songs along with "Waterfall" from his days before he joined The Piano Guys. I made a New Years Resolution for 2021 to try and finally learn how to play it. I have been playing piano for over 20 years but havent been able to master this song yet. It's extremely difficult to play and is so fun to listen to.
Forever wishing I could play this good..
I live in Australia so it's practice lol,
But I don't have time to practice and I have little hands :'(
+Marika Raines I have little hands, the most I can do in 1 hand is an octave. If I try really hard I can make a 9th. I'm learning it right now, and I substitute the 9th's with 8th's. Keep going! You can do it!
This man is in love with music,,,,,,, sweet
It's heartbreaking that a man who inspires with his music has to endure such devastating loss. Searches teams were called off recently for his missing daughter.
Sonia Coelho i agree . i can see. he is just in music . i love this song
justdecember That makes me cry thinking about it
I entered this video thinking that it would be a John Legend cover. I was disappointed…& then thrilled. This is a beautiful song. Good work, sir :)

I know right? I'm taking piano so I watch other people play instruments to keep me going with my own studies.
