Love the Japanese books, the story you didn’t know with the girl and the match sticks is called the Little Match Stick Girl, by Hans Christian Andersen. I had that story in a book of Christmas tales as a kid. It is a really sad story but a good one that doesn’t shy away from things that happen in real life. I have Aeppols 3rd book in the Japanese Edition from Amazon Japan as ages ago before it was on book depository it was super expensive and I found that they had in Amazon Japan so got it from there.
Ahh right!! Thank you, I will have to check out this story as I definitely don’t remember it. Also, how is the Japanese edition of the Aeppol book?? ☺️💗
@@shelscolouringjourney so sorry for the late reply. I find it good. It’s the same as the Korean version of the first one for me. So I would recommend, just have to be careful not to put too much water on it if using wet mediums as it might buckle the page if you don’t like that kinda thing.
I currently only have Kerby Rosanes in my colouring book collection and am looking to splurge on some new artists. I really appreciate you sharing your collection from Japan because it's giving me new ideas of what to buy. ;) I also love your colouring style by the way. It's so cosy and dreamy.
Glad you enjoyed watching this video. I hope you have managed to build your book collection with a few new books you like the look of....and hope you are enjoying your colouring journey 🤗💗
Beautiful Eriey books :) so tempted to get a few myself, but I color so slow so I am trying to resist lol. I think with the Fairy tales books, she might have a few fairytales repeating on other pages. Not sure, could be wrong lol. But I adore the illustrations from that book :) so pretty. All of the pages are beautiful, colored and un-colored.
Those are beautiful books and I agree the Japanese paper is just so good. I have most of those books too and will always go to Amazon Japan to get them first if I can. The only ones you have I don't have apart from the Menuet de Bonheur and Secret Invitation, are the Eriy books. I only have the second tale, none of of her others, and like you, I got it early in my colouring journey and got it on the UK site before I even knew about using Amazon Japan! Ken Matsuda's book is just beautiful! I am looking forward to seeing you colour in that.... along with the Briar one 😜
😂😂 thank you! I will definitely build the courage to tackle a briar page very soon hopefully and it may take a little bit more for me to tackle Ken Matsuda’s lol!! 💗
❤ thanks for sharing your Japanese colouring books collection. I've always wanted to buy the Doming book but this particular one you have was always out of stock. It looks very lovely and I really like the art style 😊
The only one I own is Kanoko's Minuet, and it's the US edition. I bought it before I realized the paper was inferior to the Japanese..I saw that page with the kittens bedtime story and the sleeping baby squirrels on the opposite and just ran and bought it on Amazon US because I was overwhelmed by the cuteness overload lol... and I haven't colored in it. I keep debating whether or not to just pass it on and get the nicer edition. There is so much work involved in filling a book.. may as well get the good stuff. I also simply don't color often in two sided books, I tend to go for my alcohol markers the majority of the time and they are not possible. I just placed an order for about 25 open stock Tombows.. all the lighter/pastel shades I didn't own.. so perhaps that will encourage me to get back into my double sided books. I curated my own set of pastel/midtone only alcohol markers and just adore them, so I was thinking doing the same with the Tombows might do the trick. I am intimidated by Amazon Japan.. I've ordered from Europe quite a lot but of course we share an alphabet if not a language so I can figure out exactly what I'm looking for. I can't understand anything on the Japanese site lol. I'm not even sure how to find what I want, or make out what it actually is or how much it costs. I guess I need to figure out how to translate.
Ah, it's great you decided to go for some Tombows, it will definitely be more versatile with regards to double sided books. Ordering from Amazon Japan is really easy and the delivery is fantastic! I would definitely recommend trying it out 🤗💗
A little bit off-topic Shel, but I wanted to make sure you knew. R.J. Hampson has come out with hardcover versions of his books with better paper! I guess it's not as good as say Hanna Karlzon, but I guess it is better! I just wanted to share.
Hi Shel,, I love your channel very much. You mention "a dog of flanders" in one of the books. Flanders is a region in the North of Belgium. Belgium is "split in two language parts. In the North (above Brussels on the map) we speak Dutch and this region is "Flanders" In th south the speak French. so I think a dog of Flanders means a breed of a dog. Just FYI. Keep on doing such a good job and thank you !
Too bad the shipping to Canada from Amazon Japan costs more than twice as much as the product! :( that's never going to happen for me. oh well! Glad you get to enjoy!
Oh no! Sorry to hear that….that’s what I find with Etsy, which is why I avoid it. But fortunately Amazon Japan is better shipping to the UK. Hope you manage to find a different source ☺️💗
I love the Cotolie - A Rabbit Coloring Book but it is sooooo expensive to ship to Belgium. I think I have to pay €30 for the book on Etsy and on Amazon Japan. So I thought to buy 2-3 books but the shippings just raises 🙄🤑
Oh dear! I know what you mean....but if you are buying a few books and you just total up the books including shipping, on Amazon Japan, it usually comes to approx what some books are going for now days on Amazon UK. Maybe it is more expensive to Belgium? I hope you managed to get the book in the end though 🤗💗
Best way is to google Amazon Japan and it should take you to Amazon Japan. You will have the option of changing language to English. And yes, you will need to create a new account with Amazon Japan and sign in. I hope this helps ☺️💗

I cannot figure out how to order from Amazon Japan or any other countries! Someone mentioned to me that I might need to make an account on Amazon Japan since my account is linked to Amazon US. So I tried but I couldn't read it because it was in Japanese and when I click on English it just takes me right back to Amazon US. So I would love to order many books from Amazon Japan but I just can't figure it out on my own!
I have ordered from the US and Googled Amazon Japan in English and that link takes you there then you can set up the account when you are ready to order

I love your selection of Japanese coloring books! Maybe we have similar taste? If so I’d also really recommend 世界の童話塗り絵 ( fairytales around the world ) by Katogi Mari and 夢の国への旅 (Coloring Book of Secret Dream Story ) by Sekiguchi Yoshimi!

Or, you could practice your media and styles in your US edition and only colour whole pages in the Japanese version?!

Can you use alcohol markers in these books without them bleeding through to the next page?
Sadly not -the alcohol markers will definitely bleed through. Waterbased markers work fine though. 💗
