The outside of the house was so depressing before. What a strange entrance. It looks much better now. I like the light, bright, airy look inside. And the deck is AMAZING!! What a great transformation!! I'm noticing a theme here with this couple. While upon first glance certain things look really neat, sometimes they aren't very practical. Imagine changing the bedding in that loft bed. Also, the wall easels look fun, but you can already tell the paper doesn't come through very easily and they're super tall. I don't know how old the grandkids are, but they'd have to be about 6' tall in order to reach. Lol. The rest of the house is beautiful though.
Love Dave and Jenny and the house is beautiful. For me, the floors are too yellow and the whitewashed fireplace is still a no-go. The kids room is very creative, but from the photo, they are going to be too small to reach the wall-easel. The bunk bed is cute, but so impractical for adults, bed making, etc. More traditional bunks with the tree log, shake trim and cottage details would have been my preference.
I think I would have made the garage side of the carport wider and the entryway side narrower than they did. It'd be easier to park a car in a wider bay. (Maybe the carport roof structure made this impossible so they had to work with what they had.)
