You're proof that if you can play, you can play well on any type of gear. You sir just knocked down a bunch of losers and posers that think they have to have $3,000 les pauls and fenders to sound good.... You did it all in this video :)
got me one of these for a christmas present for myself and honestly its one of the best guitars ive played, such a nice feel and sound i love it the necks my favourite part so smooth and easy to play
I've never seen one with a stock white pick up guard. Very classy! Great demo vid! I especially love the 'Trane licks in the beginning. You really show how versatile a Tele is. I bought mine a few months ago and it is truly one of my faves I own. God Bless!!
Fantastic sounding I bought 1 about 3 weeks ago and I can’t leave down! If it wernt for sentimental value I would be selling all my £1000 + guitars and filling my empty stands with more of these, spending big money on guitars nowadays is crazy
Last year, I bought used 2015 Affinity Telecaster for $99. It is dinged pretty good on the lower back edge ;hence the low price. But the price and how it felt sold me. I am just pleased that I get that Tele twang out of it and plays well for what I paid.
I bought one recently. Love the satin feel of the neck. Frets are smaller than the usual medium jumbos which I like. Tuners seem good and workmanship is perfect on mine. Tone is definitely Tele and with a selling price of $200 you can install fancy pickups if you like and still have a moderate investment. Only worry is that it lacks the string through the body type of bridge that more expensive Teles have. Whether that hurts the tone or playability is for advanced players to judge -- I wouldn't know. Strong recommendation or beginners or anyone on a tight budget.
I used to have a USA Strat. After years of not playing and after selling the Strat I got a Squire Affinity Tele and must say that, by memory, the quality isn't different from the USA Strat. Only the price is and the guitar is definately is worth the price. A great instrument, not only for beginners.
I just bought one in blonde with a white 3 ply gaurd on it and it's so sexy...the neck on mine isn't as stark white as some I've seen wich is nice and from what I understand there are oils that can be used to darken it a bit more. I may also put a black pick gaurd on her, to me a blonde tele looks great that way. The fret ends were crazy sharp but the shop filed them down at no extra cost and it plays just great now!...stays in tune too!..im loving it!
The white pickguard is different. I got one of these and it quickly became one of my favorite guitars. A good player, pretty hot pickups, though I replaced mine with Seymour Duncan Vintage Tele and it made it much quieter, Nice playing!
I thought this video was going to suck because you played "Good Love Is On The Way" wrongly at the beggining... but after seeing you naturally slide throughout these jazzy blues scales I noticed how wrong I was. You are a phenomenal player.
What I really like about this guitar is that it has an alder body and a fat, satin finish neck. I like the neck better than the classic vibe. You can mod the pickups, tuners, nut and electronics easy. You end up with a more solid neck on a nice body.
There are two versions of the Affinity Tele. The one in the starter pack is a "string through", with 22 frets and a fatter neck than the "regular" Affinity sow in the video here. I bought one even though I certainly did not need the amp or the other accessories. Great guitar, even with the ceramic pickups. I feel like I stole something.
i have one of these and its a solid guitar the only gripe i had was the bridge pickup so i replaced it with a seymour duncan pro alnico 2 and a basic setup and it is good to go!!! still sounds like a tele just better
I'd recommend spending an extra 100-150 and getting the Squier Classic Vibe. I have both and the Classic Vibe is just lightyears ahead in feel, look, sound and construction.
I am a lefty. so I struggled on for40 years never being able to reach my potential, I spent years playing rubbish guitars. When I got one of these it was a bit of a shock, I'm a tone man and a blues bender, all those wasted years, this guitar re-paid all those years of struggle. This is the first time, me and the guitar have been on the same side, we are now on a journey (I hate that phrase) together. The only way I'm going to outgrow this thing is I start to think logos are more important than the feeling, this thing is pulling me to be better
For $179.00 you can't go wrong . I've seen used ones for around $125 .00 . I have one , nice satin finish on the back of the neck , plays well and sounds good . Really nice guitar for the money .
Tele is so versatile that you can play ANYTHING on it. Check TH-cam and see for yourself. Just need a good effect/pedal/combo for it. The first solid body electric and still the king of them all. :D
Where did you find the orange with maple fb? Ive been wanting one exactly like this so bad, but all the orange bodies i have found only come with a rosewood fb. Great picking!
Whats the name of the mic you used to mic your amp ? I want to buy one for my line 6 spider IV 15 but it should cost max. 50€ so i want to know what good mics there are...
where did you buy this from? the white scratch plate/pickup gaurd is so nice, but I can only find this model with a black plate. would rather not order a white plate separately
I'm having trouble finding this exact model with the white pickguard - it's beautiful! Did you get it standard with the pickguard, or did you have to add it yourself? Thanks!
No, lol. Only practice. If Keith Richards played this, he would make it sound awesome. If a beginner plays a top Fender Telecaster, it will still sound like a beginner. But I highly recommend this guitar and the Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster if you have the money. They sound good.
Saujanya Sthapit There should be a little "Affinity Series" logo on the headstock; also it will identify the model as simply "Tele" rather than "Telecaster". Older Affinity models have an all- black Squier logo, higher level models have Squier in gold outlined in black. Other clues: slightly thinner body than a regular Telecaster, top loading bridge, single-ply pickguard, Les Paul-style jack plate held on by four screws, and a very light colored matte finish neck. Basically, in the details the Affinity has an overall more stripped down and "cheaper" look, while the nicer ones are more nicely finished and luxurious--they cut certain corners to make it less expensive.
Anybody mind helping me out and letting me know how i could get the type of sound he has at 0:20 i'd really appreciate it if somebody would help me out and let me know
Hector Herrera it's better if you go to a shop and try it yourself.. play some songs that you love.. your hands, ears, and body will pick it up for you.. i won't go for any Epi LesPaul below Studio tho
These are seriously killer teles...they do exactly what teles were intentionally intended to do, just play the notes, nothing fancy...teles were designed to travel with musicians and be bulletproof, and you don't need to pay a shitload for one to get a decent one...ya never did way back when and don't need to now,...it's a working tele, sounds good and plays good.get it if you're thinking telecaster....
No worries. SSS (3 single coils). HSS (humbucker/single/single). Teles have two single coils (bridge/neck) with a 3 way selector switch. When the switch is in the 2nd position, it activates both pickups, which act as a hum canceling (or hum "bucking") pickup. The Tele, in its simple design, really is versatile guitar. Hot and twangy in the bridge, heavy humbucker in the middle position, warm jazz tones in the neck position. Plus, there's no trem bar to knock the strings out of tune. I highly recommend this model by Squier. It's inexpensive, made very well in Indonesia, and a joy to play. There are more expensive models with better woods/electronics. But you get a lot of bang for your buck with this. Hope that helps!
Yes, but for the price you just can't beat it. I would just swap the pickups but you don't have to. It stays in tune pretty decent too. A lot of people puck squier over fender, as american fenders are much higher priced.

+Rafael Squier use different woods depending on series, the Affinity is Alder, Standard is Agathis, Vintage Modified is Basswood, Classic Vibe is Alder and the Bullet series is Basswood, none are made of plywood. Personally though, I don't really care what wood is used, I've had a VM series Strat made from Basswood and it sounded great, I have an Affinity Telecaster and it's a lot of guitar for the money, mine needed a minor adjustment to the bridge but other than that, it's been great, I bought it as a knock around guitar to play Rocksmith on but it is my go to guitar, it's stayed with me even though I've owned and sold much more expensive guitars.
+David Mcque actually the Affinity body is Alder..not Basswood......that is why I prefer them to other models I have moded several Affinity guitars and basses they sound fantastic...I'm moding an Affinity white JP bass right now and it is going to be awesome...the alder body makes the difference
You're proof that if you can play, you can play well on any type of gear. You sir just knocked down a bunch of losers and posers that think they have to have $3,000 les pauls and fenders to sound good.... You did it all in this video :)
Brock Davisson and he is a fuckin kid. Its the music gene man. They're just born with it
got me one of these for a christmas present for myself and honestly its one of the best guitars ive played, such a nice feel and sound i love it the necks my favourite part so smooth and easy to play
Aidan CJ unbelievablely nice necks. So comfortable. Brilliant for money no one can moan.
I've never seen one with a stock white pick up guard. Very classy!
Great demo vid! I especially love the 'Trane licks in the beginning. You really show how versatile a Tele is.
I bought mine a few months ago and it is truly one of my faves I own.

Yeaah right
Fantastic sounding I bought 1 about 3 weeks ago and I can’t leave down! If it wernt for sentimental value I would be selling all my £1000 + guitars and filling my empty stands with more of these, spending big money on guitars nowadays is crazy
Agreed ! Got myself one 2 months ago ! Love my Affinity Tele !
I love how the video started out with John Mayer's Good Love Is One The Way. Instantly reconnized the riff
Nice demo! I've owned a Squier Affinity Tele since 1999. Love it. Just an incredible guitar for the price.
Last year, I bought used 2015 Affinity Telecaster for $99. It is dinged pretty good on the lower back edge ;hence the low price. But the price and how it felt sold me.

+DucksDeLucks The one made in indonessia has the strings going through the back style.
bob hp Interesting! Is that one still on the market? Mine was made in China though the workmanship seems to be excellent.
+DucksDeLucks yes it is. It is the one that comes in that starter pack.
mine is string thru body and is made in indonesia

Well this just goes to show that the guitar is never the limiting factor!
You're doing well on that thing young man. Practice. For you, it will be worth the effort.
I just bought one in blonde with a white 3 ply gaurd on it and it's so sexy...the neck on mine isn't as stark white as some I've seen wich is nice and from what I understand there are oils that can be used to darken it a bit more. I agree. Well played, well demo'ed and overall well done. I'm sold

Thanks mate!
I used a Nikon D3100 with a 50mm f1.8g lens.
i love your video. I watch hit everyday since i got a telecaster. I want a learn to play as good as you did in this video
Diggin' the Squire Tele and awesome chops brother!
Great playing and nice guitar.

Getting one of these today in the same coloer :)
i have one of these and its a solid guitar the only gripe i had was the bridge pickup so i replaced it with a seymour duncan pro alnico 2 and a basic setup and it is good to go!!! still sounds like a tele just better
I'd recommend spending an extra 100-150 and getting the Squier Classic Vibe. I have both and the Classic Vibe is just lightyears ahead in feel, look, sound and construction.
Hella old comment but just wanna say that they sound quite different due to affinity having ceramic pickups and a more bassy sound
great video! Great review!
Well played sir! This video just goes to show folks that they do not need a $2000 guitar and amp to sound good.
The best guitarra Squier Telecaster affinity
Sound from Awesome skill

For $179.00 you can't go wrong . I've seen used ones for around $125 .00 .
I have one , nice satin finish on the back of the neck , plays well and sounds good . Really nice guitar for the money .
Go to Guitar Center.com and read HUNDREDS of reviews. They RAVE and many swear it's better than the Fender American. Just ordered mine.
Tele is so versatile that you can play ANYTHING on it. Check TH-cam and see for yourself. Just need a good effect/pedal/combo for it. The first solid body electric and still the king of them all. :D
machia0705 0
é essa guitarra que eu quero Fender Telecaster Squie
Thanks, im actually using the garageband amp simulator on my ipod touch for this this video!
Where did you find the orange with maple fb? Ive been wanting one exactly like this so bad, but all the orange bodies i have found only come with a rosewood fb. Great picking!
Maybe he take the maple fb from the other squier telecaster neck
Kudos! Fantastic playing and well recorded, not to mention shot at 24fps in film grade. Quality video and demo on all accounts. Nicely done!

where did you buy this from? the white scratch plate/pickup gaurd is so nice, but I can only find this model with a black plate. would rather not order a white plate separately

Naima by John Coltrane
Wow bravo !
this thing sounds good.. what's the amp ?
What's your amp setting for that clean tone?

What amp are you using? It sounds fender-y clean, nice!
I'm having trouble finding this exact model with the white pickguard - it's beautiful! Did you get it standard with the pickguard, or did you have to add it yourself? Thanks!
Ysabel Woody that's an add on it comes with a black one to resemble the 50s
Louise Pearce thank you!
If I buy one of these will I sound this good? Will I be able to play as well as you? Awesome playing, man.
No, lol. Only practice. If Keith Richards played this, he would make it sound awesome. If a beginner plays a top Fender Telecaster, it will still sound like a beginner. But I highly recommend this guitar and the Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster if you have the money. They sound good.

Good Love Is On The Way - John Mayer
Jee Salazar Thank you Jee, it was another one named "Naima" by John Coltrane. Ta ta!
What amp did you use? Thanks,...great playing!
Hey Simon what type of painting is it? BTB?
Guys what do u think? Which one is better? Affinity or classic vibe 50’s?
Rvdcsn classic vibe of course, but they cost the double of price of an affinity, just get a Mexican used
Best Demo on the Tube!
how do i know if its affinity or j5 or classic vibe just by looking?

You play the shit I'm trying to play..Nice..
Good for pop punk?
Did you changed your Pickguard? Black to White?
Makes you wonder why we need anything else.
what amp are you using in this vid
Anybody mind helping me out and letting me know how i could get the type of sound he has at 0:20 i'd really appreciate it if somebody would help me out and let me know
Use the vox amp sim on garageband :)
Simon Dass Sweet thanks i was able to get it to sound similar to the video but mine had a humbucker ;D Thanks a lot!
Simon Dass How do you connect your guitar to garageband? Sorry, Im a noob lol
theghostunderyourbed They make cords that can connect your guitar to your computer/laptop
Bardock Uchiha Do i just need a wire? is that all i need
For classic rock, this or epiphone les paul lp100?
Hector Herrera it's better if you go to a shop and try it yourself.. play some songs that you love.. your hands, ears, and body will pick it up for you..
i won't go for any Epi LesPaul below Studio tho
Ok thank you so much
produced in china?
Is this guitar good for light overdrive and finger playing?
yes it is
but don't buy this for metal playing😂😂
+tiemen bosma Funny enough, you can, if you know your stuff
Jim Root and John 5 uses Telecasters, why not a Squire?
+Daniel Dudular thats true indeed😀
th-cam.com/video/ckma864jT5g/w-d-xo.html
What is your amp?
What amp do you use??

What amp are you using?
Naima!

Nope, white pickguard came stock.

is this model SSS or HSS?
Clearly SSS lol
Clearly neither. Those terms are for Strats.
Mike Scrivens I'm such an idiot xD whoops
No worries. SSS (3 single coils). HSS (humbucker/single/single). Teles have two single coils (bridge/neck) with a 3 way selector switch. When the switch is in the 2nd position, it activates both pickups, which act as a hum canceling (or hum "bucking") pickup.

Hope that helps!
Mike Scrivens haha I'm aware man ;) thanks for explaining!
Ahh Yes Even the Cheap Telecasters sound great.
price please?
Google please
Mario Rios I mean street selleing price. it differs in google.
My bad, about 180$ new
is it made in china?
Yes, but for the price you just can't beat it. I would just swap the pickups but you don't have to. It stays in tune pretty decent too. A lot of people puck squier over fender, as american fenders are much higher priced.
wowwee much views
roadman
I heard you must not buye afinitty series, it's crap.
It didn't sound too bad in the video... Squier do sometimes have QC issues on their lower end guitars (from experience) and the Affinity is not a high spec model. But I had an older Affinity Tele with rosewood board and string through body (Indonesia) and it was an epic guitar! Just try before you buy.
Thank you, ben inglis. I actually bought a semi-hollow Condor. And Im really happy with its sound.
I have an Affinity telecaster, bought 3 years ago, I've bought and sold Gibsons and American and Mexican Fender Strats in that time but the Telecaster has stayed with me, it does everything I want, it stays in tune and plays extremely nicely after a few minor tweeks to the bridge, some say the pick ups are a little weak but they sound fine to me played through a Blackstar HT5
Are those guitars made of plywood? Squier tells us they're made of Alder, is it truth?
Yep. Alder is strong but nice and cheap to obtain.
They are made of Basswood, an Asian version of alder, I have one of these, and 7 other Telecasters. Strangely enough this is my "go to" Guitar, always the first one out of the rack. Lovely light responsive Guitar, lots of fun to play. At £150, a gift!!!
+Rafael Squier use different woods depending on series, the Affinity is Alder, Standard is Agathis, Vintage Modified is Basswood, Classic Vibe is Alder and the Bullet series is Basswood, none are made of plywood. +David Mcque actually the Affinity body is Alder..not Basswood......that is why I prefer them to other models I have moded several Affinity guitars and basses they sound fantastic...I'm moding an Affinity white JP bass right now and it is going to be awesome...the alder body makes the difference
+StringTherapy My question is how do you modify guitars? Is there a limitation or anything?
what is this crapp???
what amp r u using?
