They called me after Lee's Slot Cars turned them down but, I've got the Sunday Slot Car Session' live stream commitments and couldn't make it either - I gave them Rob Sale's number 🤣🤣. Great tip on the maintenance, I've ordered one of those tubes as my garage is like yours, it's not sealed and has high, high moisture content! Great video, nice one - I'm sharing this!
Hi again Mate, are you familiar with Ballistol Oil? It is mainly used to cleam weapons, but you can use it for most applications. You can even use it as a nutrition, because it is prooved for that, too. If you put a littl drop of it onto the braids and run the slotcar, you clean the braids and the track as well. You can use it, to clean the track-rails and this way, you can also secures the electrical flow. Leave a light film on the rails and no more corrosion. You can get it as Spray, or in a Bottle, which I use both. For the track and my slotcar bearings I use the Oil in the bottle. I can highly recomend it to you. It is from Germany, but sold world wide. Try it out. Greetings to Wales from Germany :-)
@@SlotCar2021 You are welcome. Like I mentioned, you could use the Ballistol for cooking, but I would not do it. Smells strange, but in poor times, this could do it. lol That oil is very helpful in many ways. To clean the braids, just poor a small drop of it onto them and let the sclotcar do its rounds. If you do it once in a while, all is fine and keeps the braids clean and smears the track rails. In wet conditions, put a little bit on a rag and smear it on the rails around the track. It also helps to prevent all metals from corrosion. I smear it on my Tools and what not. On a bike chain, I would not use it. There are better oils for that. But for my slotcar bearings it works brilliant. No use to buy special oil for that application. That is all rubbish, unless you are a serious racer and fall into the trap of commercial promises.
