Now THAT is what I am talking about for GOOD comic artwork. I wasn't even aware of Cesar Spadari's work. That is truly beautiful to look at. Meanwhile, us poor Americans have to make do with a Defenders of the Earth comic book with really shabby, low-grade artwork -- and if it sells poorly, which it really ought to since they aren't putting the quality on the page, then we will probably not get another opportunity to see a Defenders of the Earth comic book. It is incredibly frustrating for us Americans who love The Phantom, Flash Gordon, and Mandrake & Lothar, because their popularity in the very country of their origin has been so eclipsed by later characters and the general public here barely recognizes or cares about these pioneering icons, these titans in the history of adventure comic strips. At least the Phantom is being treated in other countries of the world with the respect he truly deserves, and I am SO envious because I can't read the language.
Hello @dennisroy6282. These stories have been published by Frew (Australia publisher) in English but not in singular comics and not as a collected works like this. If you want to find out more about Cesar Spadari, we suggest this interview that we conducted with his step son www.chroniclechamber.com/post/cesar-spadari
