British keyboards have a # button you can press without needing shift already. For US keyboards it might be a thing, but its completely and utterly useless on British keyboards. However you can already buy 3 and 6 key USB keyboards for a third of the price for which you can assign any key or macro. Very high quality 6 key keyboards with customizable mechanical Cherry MX keys. That hashtag keyboard is an embarrassment for all of Britain.

1. Open a new tab.
2. Google "Hash".
3. Get some rad weed brownie recipes.
4. Make some and eat them all.
While this doesn't solve your problem quite as well as this dedicated # keyboard. You will forget what you were doing, and won't need it anymore. You're welcome.
