Thank you!! This does work. If your PC freezes, don't kill the program, let it sit for a few minutes. It will eventually go back to your desktop. It doesn't look like anything happens, but reboot your PC and then things will work again!

Here's another way: Network/Sharing Center -> Local Area Connection (pick any network) -> Properties -> Configure -> 'Advanced' tab -> Property list: Network Address -> Value: deselect 'Not Present' and select the option above it -> OK. Then rinse and repeat steps. Except now, change Network Address back to 'Not Present'. The UI Network should be gone and you can connect with your original Network again. But it's only a temporary solution though. The problem comes back after shut down/restart.

I had this problem and nothing worked for me. I tried everything! customer service is useless to. All I did was re install my Windows 7 and BAM back on the internet. So if your using an older version of windows and you tried everything and nothing worked? upgrade to the next one and it should work. Worked for me, thanks for listening.
i am running a Nvidia Nforce Networking controller and when i diagnose it it cant find a problem it says my driver installed correctly but yet i still get (Unidentified Network) & (No Network Access) ive tried Manually adding the ipv4 configuration and that did not do anything ... i have another ethernet card that i installed into the computer and it clearly says that its running fine in Device Manager but when i plug a ethernet cable into it it does not recognize it atall and says that there is no ethernet cord connected ... PLEASE SOMONE HELP and if theres any further info please let me know ive invested too much money into this computer to find out i cant connect to the internet -.-

This didnt work for me, I already have the Reliable Multicast Protocol thing you mentioned, still cant connect.

It seems to be working on Windows 8.1 when you in that protocol, under advanced, in Wins, click on Aktivate NetBIOS over TCP/IP.
