Fun fact: I am playing the vanilla disc install (no Xbox live updates) and when you set your pawn quest to get 9 all heals or 9 ferrystones, at some point the game will just complete your pawn quest and give you the high amount of stones and heals. I currently have 19 ferrystones and 14 all heals by cheesing this. I only needed one in my inventory to acquire them. My reward is set at 1 gold for completing this and it eventually completes it for me. I am going to test it with wakestones and see if I can get 9 from the pawn quest and I'll let you know if I'm successful. My Xbox isn't connected to the Internet, no updates have been installed.
Perpetuation only extends the duration of buffs applied to the target WITH the augment. Eg: Mage casts Celerity. Mage has Perpetuation equipped, you do not. Your buff will always wear off sooner. (Tested it ingame and confirmed it works that way. Beattitude may work the same too, making it kinda bad.)
This is how it worked in the first game so it’s not very surprising, albeit disappointing. What a shame. I used to always have perpetuation on my mystic knight in the first game so that my buffs would last longer. Looks like I’ve gotta do that again in this game. Lol
Yaaaay you made this video! I like the way round you did these two videos. The other feels like good context watching to help keep this one slick. Thanks!
I climb on big enemies so often and my main pawn learned to Meteoron spam while I climb on large creatures xD I don't know how it learned to do that but I'll take it.
FYI there are some augments that are clearly the best for ALL vocations. Mettle - Adds a 30% increase (percent, not just +30) defense. Defense is not exclusive to a Fighter. Everyone can use it, and the ones who actually need it the most are those with few defensive options. Constancy - Adds 30% knockdown resistance. Same as above. Why on Earth would you replace this for Detection? Give me a break. Mettle and Constancy are the two most important augments for any vocation other than maybe a Thief and shield spamming Spearhand. Upgrade all of your armor with Dwarven and this augment makes a big difference even on Mages and Sorcerers. Athleticism - Reduces stamina drain by 10% when dashing. Useful for all vocations except Thief, who can get around the map faster than sprinting for zero stamina cost. Sorcerer gets slightly less value, but it's still helpful even on them. Zeal - for skill spammers. 5% stamina reduction cost when using skills. Detection - mandatory if you want to find all of the tokens without a guide.
This is my golden aug list that I use with most vocation: Mettle, Apotropaism, Exaltation, Constancy, Dynamism, Thew. These imo are the most substantial buff to a character since they are big % or make meaningful changes. Thew is the most swappable one but I would argue that carrying weight is one of those stat that scale the least in late game go having extra 10kg is godsent for loot goblin like me. Last Aug can be anything you feel like it, for me I play mostly warrior so Dominance is great.
Amazing video as always, can you please do a video explaining best skills and behavior for panws? I'm having a difficult time with my sorcerer, he dies a lot 😢 he was a great fighter but as mage or sorcerer it simply sucks. Thank you so much.
I'm very curious how much stamina buffs actually help pawns, such as mages. Especially given the infinite stamina buff they can drop during a long fight. I'm surprised that isn't touched on here considering every party needs a mage 100% and some of us go that extra mile to get them their ultimate. I would ultimately weigh those augments lower when considering certain classes and use subtlety on a mage over stamina buffs.
For my warrior, i took up increased defense, increased threat, increased knockdown, reduce stam cost of skills, one that reduces hp reduce when taking hits. Last one I wing it. The increased stam recovery doesnt help much when you use arc of might and ur character just passes out.
Perpetuation and Beatitude only works on the target with the augment slotted. Specifically says health recovered, not healing done. Opposite of DDDA. Knockdown resistance and power are both kings in this game, same as DDDA. Augments provide 30% and 15% respectively. Combined with the 90% of fully dwarven enchanted gear you're looking at 1300ish kockdown power on Dragon's Flight. Knockdown power also affects spells as well so it's not a wasted stat on sorcerers.
Best arguments for Warfarer! lol Currently combining fighter, warrior, thief with archer (for range when I need it). I liked main gameplay as fighter and enjoyed warrior.
Anodyne second rank is Mage stamina recovery even if you don't need the heal, it recovers stamina quite a bit so casting before you start spamming or use it before a big hit.
as a thief I've learned a good spam is using formless faint then just spaming tf out of blades of pyre. since formless faint allows for u to using pyre with taking damage and getting burned so for big enemies you just decimate there health bar especially ones that are weak to fire 😆
Am I better off using a smaller character to eventually get enough strength to use warrior class effectively? Or am I better off making a bigger character and just deal with the hindrances it comes with when using thief? I love thief but I also love heavy weapons. Or am I better off being a medium sized build? Any input would be helpful
My weapon buffs like, extremely rarely need to be extended or whatever. Mages in my experience will cast that shit immediately even when you’re fighting enemies strong to that elemental buff.
Any chance of getting all the BIS informationals on the wiki pages for each class? Would love to have all these resources pulled up rather than scanning the vids.
I would have thought the ability to decrease weapon skill cost by 10% might be better than the increased cap of stamina or even the stamina regen rate? That way you can use more combat skills and all stamina regen perks would help that much more?
Players would worry less about stamina if they level-up with a vocation with bonus stamina. Players that want more nockdown resistance should just use equipment that were purely upgraded using Dwarven smithing instead of wasting a precious Augment slot. Fighters should strive to Perfect Block enemy attacks. This needs skill but if you know how to parry in DD1 or in Dark Souls, it should be easy to Perfect Block.
It’s 5% in a game with basically no percentage damage increases. So yes. It adds more damage the higher level you get and the better weapons you have. While flat bonuses become worse as you get stronger.
Nothing is more useful than the knockdown resistance. Your character is like one of those clumsy people that sprain their ankles and stumbles and fall down from anything.
Beatitude and Perpetuation ONLY effect the character who has those augments enabled. Your Mage Pawn using them does nothing for you or your other Pawns. I noticed this when my Mage Pawns buffs were lasting much longer then mine and she was healing faster than me. So I took off both and tested it and our times were the same for both healing and buffs. Pretty sad because the alternative is just putting basic Augments on them like Knockdown and Damage resistance.
ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE FOR ALL CHARACTERS: More stamina and stamina regeneration Dependent on character you’ll most likely want more physical defense Everything else is class dependent
Lets be honest true build is all damage increase and stamina recovery been using the same build forever until the game adds mounts I will buy it if it is a DLC.😂
That's really just preference. It affects carry capacity (heavy) and stamina recovery (light). It might be better overall to have ranged characters and thieves light as they tend to have lighter gear, and fighters + warriors heavy as they have heavier gear. Or somewhere in the middle for a balance of the two. Keep in mind you'll be looting in the world and can grow overburdened and slower as well if your carry capacity is low.
I’ll also note that the payment is only required for pawns that are a higher level than you. I always do an advanced search for pawns that are my level.
The answer is - the augment that reduces being attacked while on an oxcart or camping - its BIS always. Also, the extra light when using your latern is a must.
Gotta get back into dragons dogma 2, been playing a lot of Rise of the Ronin. Two decent games. Not too bad, not too great, but decent enough to be entertained
I started dragons dogma 2 Saturday. Hopefully I'll be able to play after work throughout the week on the days my son doesn't have baseball practice/games. Still learning the game abd there is a lot.

Knockdown resistence is the most important thing in the game. You spend so much time helpless because of being knocked down.
For what Vocation?

No way, really? If this is true I'm going to be making some changes to my mage pawn.
Yeah came here to say this. I want to know about Beatitude, but it's very likely that's how it works too which is disappointing.
i have beatitude on my fighter pawn, thinking it increases its healing taken - but the tooltip is vague enough that it's unclear indeed lol

Thew on every class no exception. And the increased stamina augment is pretty ass past the earliest stages of the game. It's a flat 100.
