- The Brazil Carnival 2023 was held from February 15 to 25, 2023 in the capital city, Rio de Janeiro after two years of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Carnival is usually celebrated five days preceding Ash Wednesday, which is the start of Lent in the Catholic calendar. At the heart of the Carnival is the samba, which is the perfect illustration of the Afro-European blend that defines Brazilian culture.
The Carnival has drawn criticisms from many religious groups and individuals all over the world who condemned the event as offensive and sacrilegious Many have also expressed shock and anger at the performances, saying it was distasteful and contentious.

Bem, a escola de samba (Gaviões da Fiel) foi um pouco longe demais (isso eu concordo). Segundo a escola, a ideia era mostrar a luta entre o bem e o mal, e que essa luta é contínua e difícil. Disseram que a intenção era mostrar que apesar dos "testes" era importante persistir e que no final o bem vence. Mas como a escola fez isso de forma muito bruta, perdeu muito o sentido. O restante do vídeo é uma mistura de um monte de coisa doida que não tem muito a ver com a escola de samba. O desfile de carnaval (tem vários tipos, esse que você viu são as escolas de samba do Rio de Janeiro) é um festival misto. Tem coisa boa e ruim também, mas a intenção é mostrar a cultura do Brasil ou de outros países, contar histórias, e fazer críticas a sociedade - sobre povos indígenas, meio ambiente e mídias (o que acho muito interessante, já o festival tem alcance no país todo). Muito dinheiro é gasto, mas muito dinheiro entra também por causa do turismo. Se fosse apenas pra gastar esse evento nunca ia acontecer. Quanto à religião, no Brasil existe liberdade religiosa mas tem que ter respeito pela outra também. Não tem essa de satanismo não, a maioria é católico ou cristão. Inclusive a escola recebeu várias críticas pela apresentação (das pessoas em geral que afirmaram ser preconceito e escárnio) e na pontuação (dos jurados, já que são escolas competindo) perdeu pontos. Desde esse carnaval (2019) temas similares não ocorreram, e acredito que não irão porque houve muita repercussão.

I feel sorry for the innocent people who lost their lives and who had nothing to do with the Carnival at all. So much money that was spent on celebrating the event went mostly into the pockets of the organizers and when God's wrath came upon them, the poor people also suffered. This is the case with politicians also. God will judge them.

Surat Ya-Sin [verses 60-61] - Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan - [for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy ... Adam and Hawa never ate any fruit. What they did was to taste/experience the central nervous system, the senses of the earthly body (jasad) - see Qur'an 7:22. So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?" .. They tried the senses of the physical body, after they were deceived by Iblis (Ta Ha v. 120). When Adam and Hawa entered into the jasad and tasted the senses of the body, they lost their spiritual state, and became earthly mortals. This is the Fall of Man, and since they chose to listen to the Iblis and chose to be earthly creatures, their fitting place is that of planet earth, to where they were sent. This is how we all end up here on earth. Our purpose of life is to return to the spiritual state, our original state. If we cannot attain the spiritual state while on this earth, then the spiritual will only be attained in the afterlife, after we die. This is our return journey.
That is ignorance of the highest order may Allah guide them to right path.
