If only I had as easy a fix as him! Born with several genetic disorders that are guaranteed to cause pain and by definition cannot be treated. I have no idea what it's like to not be in pain. Maybe it's better this way. People who gain chronic illnesses later in life are always so depressed. It's better that I don't know what I'm missing.
Ten years ago, I herniated my L4-L5 disc with a left side protrusion shown on MRI. Symptoms were all left leg pain and loss of power. Developed right hip pain, right SI joint pain, right IT band pain, right ASIS pain, right adductor tightness, ever since. Started massage therapy 1 month ago that is giving some relief. Started some of the specific drills described by Connor and with some relief. Any further suggestions are welcome.
Yup. Just had my 3rd visit with my PRI guy 2 or so weeks ago and he had a hunch vision was playing a significant role in hindering my progression. We played around with a few exercises while looking left and even provided stimulation to the left eye only. Lo and behold I tested neutral minutes after I had initially failed the adductor drop test. Super weird.
Same story here, had a guy playing church-organ develop terrible issues after they changed his prescription... and nobody picked up on that. (I asked him to play wearing his " old glasses" and he had no issues -> out of the fysio, back to opto!)
I have Left AIC Right BC pattern. On my first visit in PRI physio, I got some pri exercises to feel my left side more grounded. Next visit was address to improve my pelvis position so right glute, left inner thigh, hamstring, left abs etc. The PRI physio told me to go check my eyesight by optometrist and when I put on the relax lenses it was complete game changer. After few days I felt my body more relaxed and also the feeling of the left shoulder higher then the other decreased a lot. Eyes are huge deal in PRI when your are in pattern for years...
did you see a regular eye doctor or a behavioral one? I saw a regular one and got a normal pair of glasses and my PRI therapist said they opened me up more but it seems like everyone needed prism glasses for eye dominance (my left eye is very dominant)
This is quite a timely video for me. I have been trying so hard to figure out my left side issues and lately have been thinking that there must be some connection to my vision. I have amblyopia - and an actual black spot/hole in my vision in my left eye. This video makes me feel like that was not such a stretch to think that. I don't know if there is anything that can be done about that but I'm certainly going to try to figure it out.
@@teerae1670 since I literally just found out on wed...its a cheap one that the pt gave me. Since it works while I'm doing these exercises, I'm using that. Once my body is fixed, we'll have to figure out what to do. I might need braces at 40. We'll see. Once step at a time.
I did these exercises with a PT for 6 months and zero internal rotation. Saw a new PT..who saw my jaw and teeth..said put this on your lower teeth and then the hook line exercise...and oh look..now I have 20 degrees...one day. Shrugs.
This sounds a lot like my situation. I've been working with a PRI PT for about a year and a half, with progress but very slow in some respects and still dealing with right foot pain. I got a mandibular splint a few weeks ago but she thinks there's also a visual component. We played around with it in my last session a few days ago, and it did make a difference in my testing. Now I have to figure out how to explain this to my Walmart optometrist for contacts because there aren't any PRI ones around here and I don't want to have to drive across the state to where my PRI PT is to get an eye exam... I wish the concepts of PRI were not so "underground" in the health world!
do you have the contact of the person doing the testimonial in this video? I have the same exact thing. my left eye is worse than my right, and when i cover my right eye, boom, I can actually belly breathe, and my left shoulder drops significantly. I'd like to talk to him about what he changed exactly.
I developed really bad pelvic tilt and left side tightness from constantly straining and turning to the right to see the rear view mirror. Tried using an eye patch like he did so i wouldn't turn to my right. It's taking lots of practice to learn to relax and look straight ahead as my "default" posture :/
I’m a golfer with the same symptoms left eye dominant one day I was unsafe to see the ball through the air and was diagnosed with wet macular degeneration I was seeing double and my eyes were not aiming centrally my swing went into shambles
Do you have any examples of where something psychological was the upstream problem? Like a specific trauma leading to a specific anxious posture, like rounded shoulders or something
The issue is an eye-muscle, laser is only to correct a tiny bit of the cornea, so (just mho) I do not think that would make a big difference in how the eye moves.
I've got +8 on both eyes with rather thick frames. Have always accidentally walked into chairs, tablelegs, toddlers... I'm guessing my peripheral vision is poor
Hey Conor, I really fixed my hip in pretty much 6 months including a lot of your exercises.. but I really can't get any improvenent on my shoulder, especially the left. I cant get over 90degree of flexion no matter what drills I try and I'm pretty sure I'm not doing them completely wrong since they worked great at my hip. Would love to hear any advice! Thank you so much for your work! Oh yeah and I have a winged scapula that is getting a lot better with low trap strengthening but no inprovement at all in ROM
the numbness was a byproduct of my muscles being so tight - effectively constricting the lumbar nerves. The glasses allowed my muscles to relax, thus easing tension, thus releiving numbness
I started the basic pri exercises and my left eye feels much more relaxed ( i have less of a squint and strain in my left eye now). How do i find out if my problem is originating from my eyes/jaw or my hips. I have been wearing glasses since i was 9 years old(astigmatism).
What do you do about this if your vision is already decent enough to not warrant glasses? My vision on my right side upon investigation is seemingly slightly weaker than the other side (which explains me having tension issues on my right side), but I don’t have issues with my vision overall. Vision on my right side isn’t bad but it is significantly darker than on my left… and when I do the opposite exercise to the one you demonstrated I feel so free…. Is this a nervous system issue?
Hi Connor, I sent you an email, I would like to come to your gym even for a week. Im suffering from so much pain.. or even an online coaching from one of your trusted practitioners..
I wish there was pri in India, here stupid physios only recommend stretching and strengthening, they don't even know what posture is and how it can be influenced by vision, dental issues, etc. They don't want to explore their field and that's quite sad for many people like us suffering from postural issues.
I really understand that guy and sympathise with him. Its close to 7 years now for me, where everyday is pain and uncomfortable.
I’m over 35 years of pain. I don’t even know what not having pain feels like. Or what waking up feeling refreshed ready to slay the day feels like.
I am so sorry. I hope you all heal ASAP with these methods.

Its amazing how certain videos just come at the right time. I see this issue in myself and with one of my clients. Thank you for your great videos.

This is profound. I treat vertigo, balance issues with CranioSacral therapy. I’m always recommending functional ophthalmologists to my clients.
I know how you feel..14 years for me..every therapy possible..tried so many excersises..
Wonderful, great to hear that. As yourself said, the Guy is incredible! Conor thank you so much for all your help with my job.!
So happy for this guy
Awesome stuff! I’m so impressed that people like you can figure this stuff out

Amazing stuff. I suspect my Long-sightedness contributed to anxiety and panic attacks as I was constantly straining my eyes.
Nope
Just found out my teeth and jaw was my cause of all these problems. I have to wear a guard while doing these exercises to turn off my teeth sensers.
We're you get the mouth guard?

Following this thread in hopes there’s an answer!
How does this work with laser eye surgery, would it then be recommended?
