What's the craziest thing you've seen at a yard sale?
This isn't a "crazy item", but I find it rather funny when I see the 50" flat screens at a yard sale. Which, many years ago probably cost thousands of dollars to buy new, and they can't even get sold for $50 bucks.
Then I walked into WalMart a couple of days ago, and they have 75" flat screens for $490. As a kid... a 75" flat screen was something so futuristic I couldn't even imagine it. I think Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 introduced my imagination to "Wall TV's" - and we sort of have them now.
Ha. Good point!
A non "crazy" thing i got as a kid at a yard sale is a used army vest for 50cents. My grandma bought it for me and when we got in the car i put it on and was checking out all my 50 new pockets and found 2 1930 silver dollars.
A friend of mine growing up...oh my God...he had TRIPPLES of EVERY SINGLE STAR WARS TOY EVER MADE. His attic was FULL ...Danny had one to play with...one set up and one in the box. Probably 20 years ago...maybe more maybe less 😅 I am unsure but I remember seeing the opened collection out for sale at their family lawn sale...I heard he sold the boxed stuff for BIG money 💰 🤑 He was much older than I was, so he had the luck of being able to get into the world of Star Wars when it was just coming out. I will never forget the first time he opened that door in the attic of that old farm house in Maine. . . 😮 Never seen anything like it again...other than my friend who has like every single frign MOTU thing EVER and multiples of them...😂 Probably should send Curt this video 😅 His storage place is down in the Carolinas..may tempt him to visit your shop.
Farm animals..living breathing goats, chickens n ducks right there with old lamps, dishes, cookware and worn out corduroy pants.
that dude at the end has my dream job just sittin and sorting through toys and putting the pieces together
The outro was awesome, it's like a Santas workshop.
The Last part was a treat! We rarely see what happens at the backdoor. Hoping for more videos
You can’t help but like Ryan. You know he’s not in this for the money alone but genuinely enjoys these toys, love it
You'd say he was the owner and the others are employees.
Generally speaking, the owner of the business is going to be the most passionate in the room, in any industry
You can see his passion for it.
I live in downriver MI which is South of Detroit. Anyway we have a Comic shop called Big Ben's Comix Oasis. The place is about twice if not three times the size of Ryan's shop. The owners are assholes.
They promote Buy/Sell/Trade but refuse to take in anything unless it's like 60's 70's 80's vintage. Not only that but refuse to take in parts from those eras.
Walked through the door the other day and wasn't even greeted, infact I wasn't even acknowledged until the one owner overheard me talk about wanting a Super 7 Cyborg Krang because it was a high priced item.
Modern toys are marked up like 15-20% and vintage is like 25-30%... the problem is they only want the cash or to trade for in rare pieces.
Ryan is not that type of owner.
I don't know if it's just the atmosphere of the store but your channel has some of the best audio quality around.
Interesting comment. Most complain.
I like how he slowly backs away after giving the offer, in case anything went down.
Another great episode guys. I think if I lived closer, I'd volunteer to put the Joes back together. I used to take parts from one Joe I didn't play with much to fix broken Joes. Truly the best way to wake up on a Saturday morning!
seeing the g.i joe made up at the end was really cool,
They need a separate channel for just repairing and restoring Gi Joe figures. I would watch that. Very relaxing, very satisfying. Oh yeah, second channel for sure. 👍
I know it is on the video during the side discussions, but I love how honest you are with the customer when asked what pieces stood out. You did not hide the fact that the Thundercats did with the available accessories in the trade. I would so trust dealing with this store if I California and South Carolina was closer.
Love the OG commercials....memories ❤
I love how you edit the original commercials in.
I can't get enough of these Toy Federation videos.
15:27 Trying to float numbers in your head? Nah, write it down. Let me see the math 😂
Nice touch with the retro commercials. Really brings it all back
Guys…you need to go old school and get a notepad 😂…those phones are so tough to keep it all straight. Love the videos!
I love how the video ends with Andy looking like a mad scientist in his laboratory.
YES SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS!!!!!!!!!!
Ha! Glad you're here!
@@toyfederation this show and my morning cup of coffee!!!! I love this!!!!
That song on the gi joe commercial had me laughing! "That's why the imp's so important to cobra!" lol!
I could watch rebuilding gi joes all day. I get enjoyment out of fixing them and watching.
A little tip, it would have been so cool if you went around with old calculators with paper rolls in them, the real old ones ;)
I would love just sitting in that back room building Joe’s. Ideal job!
no joke, doing that in my free time as i watch this
Enjoyed the Joe repair speed run at the end lol
We need more of the outro stuff... So cool to see a master at his craft... I recently found your channel and have binged all your videos, they are so good
I use to take apart Joes and make my own characters out of.them.
That guy is a well tuned machine at the end
I swear that best part of my Saturday morning in the man cave got the coffee ready let’s Go!!!!
Ryan has knees of steel 💪 what a guy! Fantastic trade guys joy to watch
Dial Tone ring restoration in less than 10 seconds. NICE. LOL
U guys have to get some tables for these deals. It would be so much easier lol
But kids play with their toys on the floor
Just bout to go to bed . Not any more! Howdy gentlemen great to be back.
Awesome!
I gotta track down the guys who sing the GI Joe commercials and just have them follow me around describing my day 😂
“Eats a bowl of cereal! Now he’s gonna mow the lawn!”
Film it when you do!
I have no interest in toys, but I find this show fascinating. Nostalgia is a very powerful emotion.
This is one of our favorite comments!
What’s going on with the store expansion? Would love to see a dedicated area where you can evaluate collections that isn’t on the floor. Love the channel.
I love this channel ❤ Such awesome memories from the sellers and the viewers. Really appreciate what you guys do! Keep up the great work
I could watch an hour of that clip at the end of fixing joes, actually that’s what I’m doing today is fixing joes!
Another great one, wish there was more then one a week but ig “keep them wanting more” is a good thing to go by
It’s crazy, this is so well edited/shot it could be on the history channel or some shit.
Toy Fed Rules! Absolute straight shooters. True toy lovers.
Now that's expertise, I have replaced many O-rings in G.I.Joe's and never did I make it look that easy. That's some skill there!
weird coincidence with GI Joes and that tank. When my brother in law gifted me his remaining vintage Joe collection it had that same Thundercats tank in it, only thing in the collection that wasn't gi joe, very odd
With all due respect man u need to bring out some fold out tables for these large purchases lol. Save your back and legs some trouble it kills me seeing you guys go through these on the floor lol
Haha I was just thinking that, my knees groan every episode
I know. In a different episode he said it's always better on the ground. I'm like uh no it is not.
That’s awesome, as I’ve been building my collection I’ve been handing the older ones with the paint loss etc to my daughters, it’s always great to walk in the living room and see cheetara and Liono ferrying Barbie around in the car with He-Man and Battlecat bringing up the rear, timeless, and wonderful to see the same joy in them I had myself. Great channel team, keep it up!
Watching him replace that part at the end was choice. How many times have I taken apart a Joe? nice
best segment !
My man said kb toys that was my spot got all my spawn stuff there as a kid
Loved the behind the scenes ending of replacing the o-ring on the joe. More of that! Another great episode!
Need some more Joe Time!
Let's go! Yesssss another kick ass video
Thank you!
Luv this. Great to see the toys of our childhood. Thank you.
Every week I wonder if Ryan can actually be that nice in real life. Absolutely love this channel.
Ryan is.
Travis too! It is a great store to go into for so many reasons. The store staff is extremely friendly and (generally speaking) always willing to have a talk with their patrons.
He is. My first trip there years ago was a lark, I got there about an hour before closing but stayed for two talking to him first about Joes, then other toys, and then a variety of topics, not even toys, like we were old friends hanging out. He's a solid dude and I got a great deal on a carded Joe (which I don't collect carded, but it was too good to pass up).
I can vouch and say that he’s Ryan is legit this nice in real life.
Thank you all for the love!
I always look forward to my weekly Toy Federation shows 😜🙌🏽🙌🏽 i haven’t been that lucky finding cool stuff at a garage sale. But I’m always on a look out for vintage stuff 😉👌🏽
That is awesome!
Man, these videos always shoot me back to being a kid. And you guys are like the cool neighborhood buddies that had all the best shit growing up. Showing it off and explaining the lore and nuance that flew over my head as a kid! Love the editing adding in those commercials. All you guys are great, keep it up!
I would love to see maybe an assembly or repair video of some figures. Kinda similar at near end.
@10:00 I had that Monkey Thundercats figure and now know that that gray piece is a shield. Lol, I thought it was always just a random piece from something else. 30 some years later and I put 2 and 2 together, thanks to this video.
This has gotta be the best toy store in the world
For retro stuff, yeah it could be
One of the best. I've seen toy stores that have more stuff and are bigger in size, but this one is definitely up there.
Best part of my week
@19:44, every 80’s kids dream job.
I can’t recall anything from past yard sales but I can and do find great things when spring clean up comes around you would not believe the things people throw away! When I was in my teens 20 years ago my dad would go around and scab things up from around the town we found 2 vintage Sting Ray bikes which he still has but we repaired and repainted them put new decals on them and they looked damn good for throwaways!
Please hire a math guy. Watching them add things up is painful. Haha
I love that shirt. "Forty-Something: Children in Disguise." I'm not 40, YET, but I might have to get one!
Pretty fortuitous that you bought a collection with a part you needed for the Thundertank you bought later!
Really enjoyed this episode because we got to see some of the more modern lines like halo and 25th
Just wanted to say I love the vids! Great job! Hopefully I can check out the store in person some day!
(Dee Rotten) That was a sweet Joe collection and the Thundercats was such a great toy line. Keep up the great videos love the show.
These are the coolest videos!! PLEASE do not change anything! Just make more 😂
I have no desire to get into toy collecting but I'm fascinated by this channel. Hope to see the store in person some day!
I look forward to these video. Great stuff guys!
I was watching your video this morning and saw the commercial for the Cobra Imp. While out at an antique shop this afternoon, I came across one and bought it. It just needs tracks. 😁👍 I like your videos. Thanks!
Nice i need all the gi Joe 25,50 anniversary
I LOVE this guys videos! Soooo cool
Episodes just keep getting more interesting every Saturday!
Awesome episode thanks Ryan
19:42 The ending is priceless!
Good morning from the west coast! Pretty cool that the previous trade helped you build out the vehicle. Crazy odds for sure.
Pure Awesomeness!!!! Love the mix of watching the trade process and the vintage commercials and the knowledge you have of vintage toys #norepos you guys are the best
Thank you so much! Thanks for being a member! Love the love!!!
Thunder…THUNDER…THUNDER!!!
I need those THUNDERCATS!
I somehow never got into Thundercats but it makes me think of finding the rare Luna lasher Mumm Ra for $8 a couple years ago. I didn't get max value I could've but I helped someone complete their Thundercats collection. Still got way more than I paid. It was at a pawn shop not a yard sale
You guys gotta put out more vidyahs quick! I binge watched ALL your videos at work last week!! I would watch the sorting and o-ring builds for half an hour it's so satisfying - You should show a bit if you do some clean up of toys too - I just dusted and cleaned my 87 Vintage Fetts with just water and extremly light soap and man does it's satifying - Great vidyahs keep it up!
Cobra liked that IMP so much, Cobra Commander actually hired a Soul Band to sing about it in a commercial. 😂🐍👍✌️
Thundercats look pretty cool. I had goes, he man, star wars, transformers and mask. Missed out on thundercats but do remember watching the cartoon.
Good stuff as usual. Love them classified Joes .
Yes yes and yes! Great video gang. Keep up the good work!
The impact of each spine tingling episode of this show on pooptube will never leave the annals of importance on the action figure dolly toy collecting community as long as there is a single ' nerd' on the planet left after the outer space marines and aliens fighting, sometimes along side the Halo and Gundams for truth, justice and the American way rid the world of ridiculous evil crap heads🇺🇲
16:52...."wife prefers cash"....said ALL WIVES!!!!😂😂
Cobra-lalalalala.
Just wanted to say i love the content and i love the channel. I am i a big fan of retro collecting and most people dont realise what its like turning a busted up piece into a complete and sellable piece and still make a profit. this channel shows the otherside of the business and its so cool! Keep it up guys and i hope to someday get out there and visit the store even if its 4 hours away XD
Much appreciated!
@@toyfederation I have a carded Tygra and Cheetara both with the Thunder Kittens car and they cost me hundreds each LOL!🐯🐅🙏👍
Chris is a buddy of mine; really cool to see a friend on the channel :)
(Even though I always feel I'm among friends on this channel ;) )
About your Thundercats the Bible belt was against them and Dungeons and Dragons that why it's rare for you to get them I know this cause it was something I asked for Christmas my dad had to ask a friend in California to get some cause the local store sold out and were not ordering any more cause people from church where complaining about them it was even on the news and talk radio.
I wanna see some Visonairies!
A bunch of AFX slot cars and an Inch Worm ride on, all from the 70s.
I want an hour of Joe Time!!!
Dude i love this channel! I'm hooked!
Yea me 2
Another question: Have you ever tried reto brightens the bottom of the raven?
Late to the party! (Vacation this past weekend). Cool to see Vintage Thundercats loot. Why is that stuff so rare? My guess is they just didn't put out as many toys and over a shorter run than competing IP.
I really enjoy your channel and I was wondering what App you are using for the Action Figures.
Those aren't original 80's carded Joe's, they're the easy to find 25th anniversary ones.
We established that in the first 2 minutes mate did you even watch it or what cobber
@badcommentbot8349 No..but I watched your mom😆
Where do you guys get your replacement o-rings? The ones I purchased started busting after six months. I have joes falling apart left and right haha.
Will 25th Gi Joes go up in value?
prob not so much
I bought that stuff up and sold at a loss. Most of that stuff was bought to never be opened. Just like 90's Star Wars find them in Flea Markets everywhere for $5-10.
In another 25 yrs😢
Moc figures now go for 30 + $$$. (Mint on card ) in Mn. at a specialty shop where you can buy/sell/ trade. Sold for about $10 back then. No idea what the guy who brought them in got, these guys are probably right, I'm just here to tell you what you would pay if you walked in right now to buy some 25th or 50th.
@@FirstLast-fc7dt maybe not as newer generations are not getting into it. If they dont want it the market dries up in 10,15,20 years. Imo dont look at these as an investment....you will not retire on selling your collection, my advice is OPEN them and enjoy them display them.
lol I love these. Don't change a thing.
Aye bros - We need more videos
CT sounds like can trade.🤔 but that's just me guessing
