He absolutely deserves to go the Olympics. This would be his last good chance. Let's not forget we will get the match up between him and Kipchoge at last at the Marathon.
The Ethiopian team will only choose the very best athletes who stand a realistic chance of a medal. His impressive second place in the recent London marathon, considering he has now turned 40, was very incredible, but there are equally impressive, and far younger athletes, who probably deserve their first taste of Olympic glory. Also Bekele has never been a consistent marathoner, like Eliud Kipchoge Bekele has been to several Olympic games already, so i recon other runners will get chosen instead.
I’m a huge fan of Kenenisa Bekele and I do believe that he should be a part of the Ethiopian Olympic team not because of past achievements but because of current 2 performances in marathon
Strongly I believe Bekele will be selected to Paris, but himself and Kipchoge will have hard time to reach podium as younger generation have grown so strong.
I'm a forever fan of his, he's been inspiring, incredible and unforgettable to watch. Would love to see him at the Olympics again. My absolute favorite distance runner #goat
Not only is he the distance running goat, he just keeps going because of his love for running and his will to keep competing. Feel so lucky to have been able to watch so many of his epic races.
Will you make a London Marathon 2024 recap video? Would love to see that!! And yes - I absolutely think Bekele should go to the Paris Olympics. No doubt.
He will definitely be selected for Paris. After running such a world class times at age of 41, there is no reason why he shouldn't be selected. He is God for thousands of athletes (including me). Whole world wants to see Kipchoge-Bekele battle after a very long time. Good luck to him. Love from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
hey @TRP, if Bekele and Kipchoge are selected, it would be cool to see if any other pair of athletes in history have raced in the olympics with a 20 year gap (5,000m 2004 & 2008, Marathon 2024). Even cooler, imagine medaling together with a 20 year gap. That probably has never happened in the history of the olympics (any individual sport). Love the channel!
There was person thatbargued with me when Bekele ran a 2:06 Marathon. He said Bekele was finished. Where is the person now... I think Nike also though he is washed up. On this race, he says his lower back gave him problems towards the end. Bekele should and must be part of the Ethiopian team. He has outdone the younger guys. God bless you all and as usual have a blessed day.
My hunch was correct- Kenenisa made it to the Team!! Ssoooo damm happy for him. We will finally get the match-uo fans have been waiting over after 20 year wait. 🎉🎉🎉 The Olymlic marathon will be the most anticipated event now!!?
Yes he is the greatest distance runner of all time so far. Ethopia should still select athletes who are the most likely to bring home medals and with their depth of athletes that's a tough call to make.
Yes, he definitely should qualify for the Olympics. I'm pretty sure he could have 1 to 3 places as he highly competitive he is... I wish him the best. The Ethiopin Olympics community must consider him to be a part of the team. I'm also from Ethiopia and love Kenenisa. He is my hero!!!
He has a lot left in the tank and should be a contender at the Paris Olympics...I won my last Half at 44 on a trail, which is more difficult than the roads. He still has confidence and is still determined to prove himself. Bekele all the way for me...
Sisay, Bekele, Tola makes the most sense. It's crazy to think how Bekele's London performance would have been a NR for most countries and a WR in 2008. In the US, Ryan Hall is the same age as Bekele and ran his PB (just under 2:05) nearly a decade and half ago before giving up running.
If he and Kipchoge were racing over the last few miles in Paris, that would truly be a throwback. Then all we'd need is for Hicham El-Guerrouj to come out of retirement, train for a marathon, and run with Kipchoge and Bekele, and we'd have a rematch of the greatest ever mile runner vs the greatest ever 10k runner vs the greatest ever marathoner.
And it’s likely that Paris will be strategic race for first half before the top runners start their big push. Olympic course is no joke either with some hills. Bekele proved he should be on the team.
He should be on the team with Tola and Geleta and yes they owe him this one to be fair. On merit, his pedigree is enough, but his '23 Valencia 2:04:19 and '24 London 2:04:14 times qualify him. He would have a chance to break Rotich's '21 Paris 2:04:21. He is indeed timeless.
I would love to see Bekele selected for the Ethiopian Team to run the marathon in Paris. It may be the long anticipated Bekele Kipchoge show down that has not eventuated over the past few years since Bekele came within seconds of Kipchoge’s then WR.
Get him to the Olympics, imagine the feelings he will experience being back on the world biggest stage where he dominated, this man has bigger goals than London marathon he wants gold medals and world records so he should absolutely be at 2024 Paris condsidering he's proven he is a 2:01 guy, recently consistent and possibly capable of a 2:0X even at his age.
I hope they do pick him. This reminds me of the dilemma U.K. faced in 88 when Coe was left out of 1500m squad. However here there is proven current form.
Bekele should be a automatic selection. Like golf when you win all those times you should be like tiger woods and automatically qualify . I think he is in his best shape and will run at that 2.04 level
Yes, he is probably the all-round greatest. Gebre est is the "recordman of the records", KIpchoge is the best marathonian ever (sorry for Kiptum, he could have been...), Bekele is the best between road, track and cross-country running.
Paris might not be as fast as some of the major marathons, giving Bekele (who probably is not in a shape to run 2:02) a chance to fight for a good place.
Give him a break and put him on the team. If he was running 2:10 I'd understand but all there needs to be is a good argument (which there is) and that should be enough.
Honestly - we shouldn’t be wondering if he can make this team, that should be automatic. Even as crazy as it sounds, if he keeps going sub 2:06-2:07, we may seriously be talking about him the 2028 team. If his motivation stays high it’s absolutely a real possibility. As for Tadese who hasn’t raced, that doesn’t strike me as injured, that strikes me as avoiding anti doping officials and is highly suspect.
I agree that Kenisa Bekele is the greatest distance runner of all time. Kipchoge is the marathon GOAT, but Bekele has him beat when you consider all distance running imo.
I'm just relieved. Usually when you make someone the subject of TRP Exclusive, that person has been suspended; busted for drugs or cheating, you know, the black eyes for the sport.
Bekele must go to Paris - them selectors need their heads checking! Bytheway, Bekele's first marathon was ofcourse, Paris - exactly 10 years ago!!! He won then & there in 2:05:02 - yet more reason!
Im not a fan of selecting the reps, too much politics can determine who gets picked. "Makes the most sense" is such a subjective criteria. Make them race, top 3 go.
I can only say that Marathon's head was cut off with Kiptum's death. Marathon without the world record holder has lost its meaning. No winner in the future will be the real winner.
Just met him yesterday at Heathrow airport and he was kind enough to take a selfie. What a humble man he is!

They say you should never write off a champion, how great was it to see Bekele run so well on Sunday.
Facts. I forgot where I saw this but one of the comments on a video about Bekele said he should retire. Delusional as hell.
They wrote him off but he ain't write back
Bekele getting selected is too good of a story for it not to happen, so hope it does 🤞
He absolutely deserves to go the Olympics. This would be his last good chance. Let's not forget we will get the match up between him and Kipchoge at last at the Marathon.
Kipchoge is done, And Kiptum the record holder tragically died in car accident. So Bekele has the best chance to win the Olympic if selected.
He has to be picked
Kipchoge has decided not to run in Paris.
The Ethiopian team will only choose the very best athletes who stand a realistic chance of a medal.
His impressive second place in the recent London marathon, considering he has now turned 40, was very incredible, but there are equally impressive, and far younger athletes, who probably deserve their first taste of Olympic glory.
Also Bekele has never been a consistent marathoner, like Eliud Kipchoge
Bekele has been to several Olympic games already, so i recon other runners will get chosen instead.
There are currently better marathoners than Bekele@@allisonking785
I’m a huge fan of Kenenisa Bekele and I do believe that he should be a part of the Ethiopian Olympic team not because of past achievements but because of current 2 performances in marathon
Been waiting for you to drop a post-London Marathon Bekele video! I was amazed he finished 2nd place. Incredible athlete is an understatement.
1000 times yes!!!! He deserves to be on that team.
We just gonna ignore that Bekeles average marathon time over the last 3 marathons is better than kipchoge?
Bekele should run in the Olympics in Paris this year. It's amazing at 41 he is still a world class athlete.
So sad there will not be a Kelvin Kiptum situation video 😢
RIP the young legend🕊
Yes, tragic
I still can't believe it. 😢
It's a dream to see Bekele vs Kipchoge at an Olympic event. What a great event that would be.
Strongly I believe Bekele will be selected to Paris, but himself and Kipchoge will have hard time to reach podium as younger generation have grown so strong.
He deserves being there. And we too!
To me Bekele is the GOAT !!! Give the man his last show PLEASE !!!
last wish**
it's crazy. i'm 39 and i know how it feels conpares to when i was 20.. bekele is way too amazing
Lets go Bekele!
Since Sunday I was waiting for this
I'm a forever fan of his, he's been inspiring, incredible and unforgettable to watch. Would love to see him at the Olympics again. My absolute favorite distance runner #goat
Great video. Bekele is surely the middle/long distance running GOAT
History owes Bekele this opportunity. True legend and amazing inspiration. Best ever
Not only is he the distance running goat, he just keeps going because of his love for running and his will to keep competing. Feel so lucky to have been able to watch so many of his epic races.
Bekele will forever be my distance GOAT, he is so inspirational in both his impressive feats and ability to navigate personal tragedy
Will you make a London Marathon 2024 recap video? Would love to see that!! And yes - I absolutely think Bekele should go to the Paris Olympics. No doubt.
Yes. It was a strange race with all those dropouts.
He is one of my heroes and my vote is for him but it is hard to vote against the other guys too. Tough call man
#kingKene 🎉 running in pure grit. Also a human being and have beautiful heart.
I want to see him against Eliud in the Olympics!!!💨💨
Eliot is done to me.
@@rigocolmenarez7951 you can never count him out!!
Bekele is the most deserving of any marathoner to be in the Paris marathon and I hope we get the kipchoge Bekele duel we've all been wishing for.
hey @TRP, if Bekele and Kipchoge are selected, it would be cool to see if any other pair of athletes in history have raced in the olympics with a 20 year gap (5,000m 2004 & 2008, Marathon 2024). One of the GREATEST ever🔥🔥🔥
Kenanisa Bekele! I don't care if he doesn't win. We will love him for ever°😢
100% agree Kenenisa bekele should run for paris Olympic great video 🧡
There was person thatbargued with me when Bekele ran a 2:06 Marathon.

Yes and bekele believies himself that 2:01 is possible if all goes great .So 2:01:34 my guess for Paris to Bekele
@@threatened2024I think bekele might be able to run 2:02-2:03 my prediction
My hunch was correct- Kenenisa made it to the Team!! Ssoooo damm happy for him. We will finally get the match-uo fans have been waiting over after 20 year wait. 🎉🎉🎉
The Olymlic marathon will be the most anticipated event now!!?
Yes he is the greatest distance runner of all time so far. Ethopia should still select athletes who are the most likely to bring home medals and with their depth of athletes that's a tough call to make.
Of course he should. He's a legend and still very competitive!
Use me as a button for Bekele in Paris 2024
Yes indeed he deserves to be in the Olympic team.
Hi, why did you not upload a summary of the london marathon?
Because Kipchoge didn't run. of he was in the race we would have a video just hours after the race.

They need to change the rules for Ethiopia and Kenya not fair to send only 3
Yes please its really competitive around here.
it is fair. if they have the best 3 runners in the world then they will still take all 3 metals.
Sisay, Bekele, Tola makes the most sense. It's crazy to think how Bekele's London performance would have been a NR for most countries and a WR in 2008. In the US, Ryan Hall is the same age as Bekele and ran his PB (just under 2:05) nearly a decade and half ago before giving up running.
goat
@dambi our hero Kenenesa Bekele should be there and Make a final one Last Victory at 42 AS fan that will satisfy our trust
Absolutely he should go to Paris, the man is a legend.
"The is good, and then the is great. But then, the is Kenenisa Bekele"
My all time king: Bekele🎉
If he and Kipchoge were racing over the last few miles in Paris, that would truly be a throwback. Then all we'd need is for Hicham El-Guerrouj to come out of retirement, train for a marathon, and run with Kipchoge and Bekele, and we'd have a rematch of the greatest ever mile runner vs the greatest ever 10k runner vs the greatest ever marathoner.
He must be in Paris 💪💪💪
Absolutely yes he deserves this
Ethiopia made this mistake last olympics and ended up with nothing. Lemma, Kitata and Desisa didn't finish
Yes hes my favourite distance runner of all time. I think he should get the chance to run in the olympics again
Yes. He should. He is a great athlete and fighter. He will represent Ethiopia very well. I predict he will finish below 2.04.
He is the greatest of all times
Throw the time out, he wins GOLD! He’s that guy. Unexplainable. What a story this would be!
Of cause he should qualify, no question about this!!
And it’s likely that Paris will be strategic race for first half before the top runners start their big push. Olympic course is no joke either with some hills. Bekele proved he should be on the team.
The number of golds the man has in that one quick frame in the video really put this into perspective.
You are at a good condition Kenenisa so you can run at all races healthy and wealthy to you man of athletes ❤🎉
I agree with you, he is the all time greatest!! But his times will continue to get slower. Next year, I don’t see him breaking 2:05 ever again.
Not selecting him would be a monumental mistake! He deserves to go, no questions asked!
He was selected 2 days ago
I would love to see Bekele selected for the Ethiopian Team to run the marathon in Paris. It may be the long anticipated Bekele Kipchoge show down that has not eventuated over the past few years since Bekele came within seconds of Kipchoge’s then WR.
I admit it, I was wrong! The guy is frigin awesome and hope to see him in Paris.
Father time is undefeated it's a matter of time before its time to call it quits.
Good job
I hope they do pick him. This reminds me of the dilemma U.K. faced in 88 when Coe was left out of 1500m squad. However here there is proven current form.
For anyone wondering, he was selected 2 days ago
Olympics need experience too and he is the most experienced in that top 5 list
Team YES!
Bekele should be a automatic selection. Like golf when you win all those times you should be like tiger woods and automatically qualify . I think he is in his best shape and will run at that 2.04 level
Are you going to upload a video about the London Marathon?

Rien à dire un exemple dans l’athlétisme un exemple comme Paul Tergat gebresselassie el guerrouj Kipchoge Khalid Skah
I wish he had an exemption for being a multiple time world/olympic champion (since he also has the standard).
Give him a break and put him on the team. If he was running 2:10 I'd understand but all there needs to be is a good argument (which there is) and that should be enough.
i think he can medal if he's selected!
When TRP writes “situation” you know it is going to be a filler episode 😂

In which marathon or race did Bekele feel hitting a all and fell back on his run? I admire him despite of that.
Bekele must go to Paris - them selectors need their heads checking! Bytheway, Bekele's first marathon was ofcourse, Paris - exactly 10 years ago!!! He won then & there in 2:05:02 - yet more reason!
It should be Lema, Tola, and Bekele
If he can’t qualify who can. BTW he has the third fastest time in marathon history after Kipchogi and Kiptum.
let him run as long as theres no one with a better time from his country he'll go sub 2 hours
Im not a fan of selecting the reps, too much politics can determine who gets picked. "Makes the most sense" is such a subjective criteria. Make them race, top 3 go.
