I got decent printing on my CR10S with SainSmart TPU using a temp of 213 degrees. Upgraded fittings and a capricorn tube were done from the very beginning. I later upgraded to a metal extruder and had a few little problems. From the guide hole to the fitting was a space where the TPu coild coil up and jam after the extruder gear pushed it into the hole. However those got fixed when I drilled out the hole for a 4mm pass through of the Capricorn tube and I ordered some 6mm threaded fottings with a 6mm pass through. That allowed me to get the Capticorn tube JUST barely off the extruder gear/bearing. Yeah I could have printed one off thingiverse but I wanted a metal arm.
Another big THANK YOU for an awesome video. Just got my cr-10 set up and am amazed by the print quality. The settings in cura are really nice. I also own a Snapmaker, but am fairly new to 3d printing. You have made it a lot easier for me. Also forgot to mention, the cr-10 was as easy to assemble as the snapper was. Just make sure all screws are tight.
Nice video, very clear and simple explanations. One thing you should talk about is the Print speed and travel speed. I didnt see any of those configurations and I think that is very important. I would like to know more about those settings in future videos.
DAMN!!!! Just received my CR10, and slowly taking it out of the box and getting it set up. As a noob to 3D printing, your video was perfect for giving just the right amount of information. I think I am going to bight the bullet and go ahead and buy Simplify 3D, but I do have a questions. When you were setting up the different printing temperatures, is the step number on the left equal to the physical layer number? In other words, step "1" was at 240, assuming that the first layer would be printed at that temperature; if your next step you put "25" instead of "2", would it print at 210 until it got to layer number 25, then go to 200?
Yes, It will print at the temperature you have listed for that layer until it sees a new setpoint telling it to change the temperature at a certain layer.
thank you so much this video is really helpful!!! I really like your Channel! I would love if you could do a more specific video about the settings explaining what settings doing what and how it is affecting the printing. thank you so much!!!😊
Well done on a great video, I haven't got my 3d printer yet, not sure if I am going to grasp it all but now I have seen this video you may have made the decision for me. liked and subscribed. - thank you.
Clear and Easy to Follow along. Thank you. Liked and Subscribed. I picked up my first 3D Printer about 3 weeks ago and it is a CR-10S. I have been very happy with the prints so far as I am learning but see a lot of potential with it. The one thing I am not so keen on is the Control Box menu knob. It has default click marks that you can feel when turning which is great if they would only line up with the actual firmware. Meaning when selecting a menu item or a specific temperature you have to either turn the knob more than once or you have to hover in between the click points in order to select an actual temperature. It is doable just a small annoyance. Have you experienced the same? Do you have a go to preference for slicer, Cura or Simplify being you showed both, curious if spending the money on Simplify is worth it? Separate Question, What software do you use to record your screen? Thanks again for taking the time to produce these videos. Going to check out your website.
Hi FENATECH. Yes, I have the same frustrations with the control knob and find it's the same annoyance with the CR-10S and the Prusa MK2 printer. I tend to use Simplify 3D the most but it depends on what you're doing. I like the features and because I run a makerspace with several 3D printers it is nice to have one software to control them all. Although the more recent releases of Cura now offers built in profiles for a wider variety of printers.
How did you move the front two feet like that? I have unscrewed the rubber foot from the plate like you appear to have done but I am not quite sure how to fasten it to the railing. I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know how you did it.
You can change the nozzle size on the slicer. You'll be pushing more filament through with 0.6mm nozzle so definitely increase the temperature a bit. As far as specifics you'll have to experiment a bit but I don't imagine it will be too far off from using a 0.5mm nozzle.
Great video Vlad. I much prefer S3D over other slicers. I find it easier to use. Your prints looked good, for me the S3D one on the left had a better surface finish as well as less stringing. I do keep trying other slicers, mostly Slic3r, Slic3r PE and Cura, on both my MK2 and Sigma, but always end up going back to S3D
Yes, it can. Wanna place them as far out on the edge as possible when doing this. Or move it slightly just so it clears, do the adjustment on that point, then move it back when it moves on to the next point.
Hello, I have a Creality CR-10 with dual z axis motors. The z axis goes up and down when homing but will not go up when printing. Is it the machine or am i doing something wrong in Cura ?
Thank you for the video, it answered a lot of questions. I wanted to know if there is a setting on either software that allows you to cope your target so you can print more than one. You chose the little robot. What if you needed to print 10 robots. Is there a way to do that in the slicer program in one run instead of printing one robot on 10 different runs?
Wilmer Kvarnängen model comes with an upgrade for additional $$$ from creailty. If you got it from a 3rd party retailer, chances are you weren’t even given the option for it. You’ll need a “BL Touch” or other senser.
I got a cr10s for Christmas, and am having trouble with model being pulled from the base, I am making a u shaped piece 1 inch by 1 inch with a 1/2 inch slot (1/4 inch wall) it is 2.5 inches tall. 20% fill. It prints fine until it gets to the top and goes from infill to solid.then the printer starts making the solid and it move 1/4 inch then steps over it does this very fast causing the printer to walk around the table. It just slams back and forth. After one leg about 1 inch of this slamming the whole part comes loose from the bed and is drug around by the extruder and a big glob of plastic is formed. Is there a setting to slow down the printer so it does not slam back and forth? I am using the Cura that come with the machine version 15.04.06.
Yes, in Cura under the custom section you can click on the gear icon that appears if you hover over "Speed". This will open a dialog box allowing to bring in many different options on speed settings. You can also do this live on the printer by navigating to Tune - Speed.
Probably a bit redundant now to answer this... But for anyone else who reads this, the LHS rollers are just spaced from the plate. The RHS rollers have an eccentric nut that allows you to remove gaps between the roller(s) and the V-groove track therefore reducing any sideways sloppiness or twisting in the bed as it moves forward/backward during operation. To adjust, you loosen the nut on the top of the plate with one spanner and then you rotate the lower nut until there is slight friction on the roller as you rotate it. Then you tighten the upper nut while holding the lower nut in place. Do the same for the other rollers. Recheck them all again and adjust as necessary.
It should be in your menu. You can do the same thing manually by bringing your nozzle to the home position, turn off the machine and slowly moving your print head to the four corners while adjusting your thumb screws to get the proper distance while using a sheet of paper.
Nice video however when you talk about layer height and infill and things like that some of us do not know what those mean. It would be nice if you would explain what each one of those does.
Purchasing a CR-10S and found this video. Being a total 3d printer newb I found this video OUTSTANDING! Look forward to more of your videos. Thank you
Thank you for making a CLEAR /understandable video.
Thanks Charlie. Glad it was helpful.
Just picked up my CR10S from the store today. Thank you for making it really simple for me to get myself up and running.
Thanks to your video i got my cr-10s working just right. You're an excellent speaker!
Thanks ninjins!
Just ordered a cr-10s and doing the rounds for the usual research, nice clear and simple vid. Thanks !
I’ve seen parts of this elsewhere, but you made this very clear and easier to understand. Thanks!

This is a really helpful video on putting the printer together. Thank you for sharing.
masha Allah...insha Allah I will be using your vid to get through my secondhand CR-10, got some filament on order awaiting their arrival, thank you
Thank you SO much! I just got my creality cr-10s, and you basically saved my life, XD
Finally the video that answers my questions about cr-10 slicer settings
Thanks, my CR-10s is sitting in the other room awaiting assembly :)
Excellent video training. Clear, concise and paced well. Thank you

And by the way I did check out your website a couple weeks ago it is a great learning platform thank you for that.
sweet! thanks! left had more strings , but nothing you cant just remove after.
you didn't mention anything about tightening the bed or any of the eccentric nuts, very crucial information to people unboxing their first printer
That’s correct. When my printer came the factory had tighten the z axis bar on my cr10s. I guess so it would not move. I had loosen it.
another great video, I am ordering a cr10s tonight
Nice! You'll like it. I'm pleased with mine.
thank you so much this video is really helpful!!! I really like your Channel! I would love if you could do a more specific video about the settings explaining what settings doing what and how it is affecting the printing. thank you so much!!!😊
Thanks Noam, I'll keep that in mind for a future video.
Great Video, my CR-10S comes today, was needing a good explanation of Cura settings!
Thanks! Enjoy the CR-10S. I've been very happy with mine.
Well done on a great video, I haven't got my 3d printer yet, not sure if I am going to grasp it all but now I have seen this video you may have made the decision for me. liked and subscribed. - thank you.
Thanks David. It's a great field to get into - opens up a all sorts of creativity. Especially when you start designing your own models.
Hello
I have seen that the build plate temp is 60
However, do you use uhu or a special binding layer on top of the bed ?
Thank you
Hi Hazem, I mostly don't but if I'm having trouble with a particular filament I'll sometimes use a glue stick to apply a layer of glue to the plate.
Clear and Easy to Follow along. Thank you. Liked and Subscribed.

thanks love your tutorial!
Thank you for the videos! It helps a lot when getting into this.
Awesome video thanks! what settings would you recommend if using 0.6 mm nozzle on tha cr10 5s?
You can change the nozzle size on the slicer. You'll be pushing more filament through with 0.6mm nozzle so definitely increase the temperature a bit. As far as specifics you'll have to experiment a bit but I don't imagine it will be too far off from using a 0.5mm nozzle.

Thanks Spike, yeah S3D is what I mainly use although the new Cura 3.2 looks pretty good. You are right about the stringing.
Don’t these clipss mess up your bed alignment procedure when the extruder presses against one of them? Thanks for the video!
Yes, it can. Wanna place them as far out on the edge as possible when doing this. Or move it slightly just so it clears, do the adjustment on that point, then move it back when it moves on to the next point.
Nice Video, well laid out
Hi. I have the same model of printer and it hasn't bring the filament sensor.
Where it's connected?
Thanks you
This is the CR-10S. The original CR-10 may not have come with a filament sensor.
@@DesktopMakes ok. I understand. Thanks!!
Hello, I have a Creality CR-10 with dual z axis motors. The z axis goes up and down when homing but will not go up when printing. Is it the machine or am i doing something wrong in Cura ?
How do you get the auto leveling option under prepare? Is that a separate g-code that needs added to the printer or is that standard in the printer?
Thank you for the video, it answered a lot of questions. I wanted to know if there is a setting on either software that allows you to cope your target so you can print more than one. Yes both slicers allow to duplicate your item and you simply enter in the number of copies you want.
Wish there was an explanation of how the two pieces fit together...which side's supposed to face what....
where to control the traction in cura i can see some strings? good informative video thanks for sharing
If you hover over the Material section, the little gear icon appears. Click on it and you can add options for retraction speed and retraction length.
there it is ....thank you .. 😃
Great tutorial, thanks
How do I print my work in the center of my bed? I working on . CR-10 s5 printer and using simplify ver4? Help thank you William
Hi my home is in the center of the plate how do I set it to home to the left side corner.please help me I don't know how that is done
You the man !! thank you
I just bought a cr-10s and I don’t have auto bed leveling. Am I missing something or did micro enter sell me the wrong printer?
do you know by now what was the problem? its the same for me

Hey, I ordered one too! How long does delivery take?
I received mine within a week.
Desktop Makes okay, i am still Waiting like 20 Days

It should be in your menu. You can do the same thing manually by bringing your nozzle to the home position, turn off the machine and slowly moving your print head to the four corners while adjusting your thumb screws to get the proper distance while using a sheet of paper.
I bought mine get it on the 10th yay
Nice video however when you talk about layer height and infill and things like that some of us do not know what those mean. It would be nice if you would explain what each one of those does.
Thanks Markess, I'll keep that in mind for a future video where I can break down some of the terminology and explain how these affect the print.
on cura 3.2? (extended)
Yes, I used Cura 3.2 on this.
how come my saying 115v and other saying 230v and I live in U.S and its not saying 110v only 115v
USA operates on a 120V supply voltage and 60Hz 120V is the AC voltage on a single hot wire in your home its standard.
You remind me of Mark Ruffalo
Haha! First time I had someone tell me that.
Hey uncle v
