There's something about steam locomotives that are quite mesmerizing for me. I was watching a ten minutes clip about a vintage train running, fully satisfying. Then my wife asked me: "why are you watching that?". In my mind: "You wouldn't understand". 😍
I actually have the 3801 as a model train myself, it’s my first ever model steam train I got I currently have 2. The other one I have is the City of Lichfield which is a British Steam Train. Which actually speaking of why don’t other countries like Britain, America and Germany bring down some of there’s to compete against some of Australia’s own steam trains. I would love to see that.
Lovely footage, I was wondering if you recorded the rest of the Great Train Race as well. Would it be okay to use some of the footage of it as well for the Great Train Race segment? With credit as well.
Actually heaps of praise should ho to the Hunter Valley coal industry for maintaining 4 lines in such good condition....and for the royalties they pay towards our roads, schools, hospitals etc. Wondering how long it took for the soot to clear from the valley post race. 😜 A great event regardless.
Made my day...when too many locos are never enough !🤩...........👌
What an amazing event! Thanks for showing it to us.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I found some more photos recently of R766 during its Steam Age restoration.
What a neat event. Great video. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!

Norfolk Southern did it for the NRHS back in 1987 with the 611and the1218 in Virginia!
Maybe they will do it again!

Where do the tracks overlap one another or the trains cross each other?
at 4:30 in the video, the coal lines cross under the main lines from east to west side

3801 was just toying with the other engines 😂
I filmed on 3801s train
A Once In a Lifetime Event would be if Union Pacific would shut down the Nebraska Main from Gibbon to North Platte and race 844, 4014 and 3985!
Yes! You just have to convince Union Pacific.
Nice mate. I was on 6029 as well my video is up if you want to watch it
What's the link?
The only reason for a Thumbs down 👎 is due to constant change in screen direction.
Sorry you didn't like it. Unfortunately with trains on either side of you, there was a lot going on!
