I grew green beans in an AG once (two plants in one of the old "round" 6-pods). Best single serving of green beans I ever had...
People who buy these gardens often learn very quickly just how many plants are needed to feed one person, let alone a family.

Thank you. Wondered about growing root vegetables hydroponicly.
My understanding is that either you grow beets for the greens and have no roots, or you leave the greens so you can develop the roots. Thanks for this, I might add in some beets to my growing collection of aerogardens for the greens.
Try Barese Swiss Chard.
It's a dwarf variety that fits in the Aerogarden pretty good and its cut/come again.

did you consider removing the basket when the root started to develop?
That sounds very interesting. I will experiment next time. However, I don't think it's necessary to remove the baskets as long as we pull the sponges up and let the beets grow above the grow deck. Plants may lose the stability without the baskets.
