- Join me in this solo journey on a winter night in the ozarks and what it’s like overlanding. From setting up and breaking down, I face some new challenges and obstacles on these new to me trails. Waking up to a beautiful water crossing and challenging climb that will give me my first real hill climb challenge. Excited to share this journey with you all and thanks for coming to my page. How well does that tent work in the winter time?
It actually works pretty good. I use sleeping bags and my heater buddy to stay warm enough with no issues and heat staying in. Only thing is the sleeping pad isn’t that great after some time. Going to invest in a topper to make it more suitable long term.

What breed is your dog? I just lost mine to old age and am going to be looking in a year.
So for the longest time I thought he was part Dutch shepherd/pit mix from when I adopted him as a puppy. After researching and some one telling me the breed he looked like I believe he is a brindle Rhodesian Ridgeback/pit mix. He’s 10 years old and I’m fearing when that day comes of his passing. Greatest dog I’ve ever had.
Keep it up. Can’t wait to take my dog on some adventures.
Will do! & always better when they go with, he’s running at 10yrs old now.

Thanks for watching! I have the Hooke road bed rack that has tonneau cover attachments from amazon. Budget set up that works just fine for me then I install two molle panels on the inside.

Thanks man! That’s the plan to keep documenting the journey. Big fan of your stuff, started following when I started out with my 2wd. You guys inspired me to get out there and use what I have and get some experience. Then I found myself running it to hard and would pay the price on parts. So I traded up for this one to do the stuff I wanted to get into safely. Cheers man hopefully I’ll see you out there sometime!

What kind of radio is that hanging inside your cooking tent? 2 meter or GMRS/FRS?
Midlands gmrs hand held radio. When I ride solo I like to keep it on scan in case I run into someone on the trial going up a singe path area.

Hey man! Love the video! What's the bed rack you have? It looks like one I've been looking at and have in my amazon cart that is tonneau cover compatible. Is yours tonnaue cover compatible?
Thanks for watching! Also yes, it’s the Hooke road one with the tonneau adaptations. It will work with a tonneau but it’s not the greatest. What is your truck bed size? Mine is a 6ft bed. I was able to slide in through the openings but I wasn’t able to fold up. I had a trifold. So when I actually needed to open it I had to slide it out through the adaptions. The best option might be a retractable but it might interferer with the rail guards when you attaching the bed rack to them as well. I was only able to lock the front near the tail gate down but the adaptions kept it from ever coming up from the back of the bed. You might be able to make an extension from the bed rack to the guard rails to get them to lock down in all 4 corners. Hope that helps with insight.
@@ZenOverlandingYep that's the same one I was looking at! I have the short bed. Just looked though, and it looks like it's no longer available. Should have pulled the trigger while it was there!
@@joshcabello7268 ahh bummer. So I’m pretty sure most their stuff is compatible with the tonneau adaptions if they have more options. If I were to go back I’d get one that was cab high around 18” or so plus, so when putting the poles on the tent it’s easier to maneuver. Good luck on the search!!
