Doing one for my son now. Still waiting on the cylinder to come back replatted nikisil.. I did all bearings/ linkage/ swingarm. Wheel front and back tires/bearings. I put a wiseco crank like yours. They make a bearing upgrade kit for the steering I have also tapper bearings. Waiting on the frame to come back powder coated.
Awesome man don’t see many rebuilds on here for the kx60 mostly the kx65 I think I gotta tear mine apart again I think there is a hole in the case starting leaking oil from underneath the case somewhere my first time rebuilding a dirtbike engine I did all the bearings and seals transmission bearings as well… man your case was really stuck together mine was hard to get apart but not that bad
Yea man, the kx60 is a little ripper. This engine had never been apart so it was really hard cracking it open. Try using jbweld in the hole see if it plug it up. I’m glad I got another fellow doing this for the first time as well lol. It was a fun project.
@@phonomenon yeah I picked up a while back for 400 was basically a rolling chassis and the rest was in a box everything is pretty much brand new minus wheels and forks I gotta get a another motor mine has a hole in the bottom of the case and is leaking oil from that so while I get this motor to just ride the bike gonna get some better cases and switch everything out are you on Facebook we got a group of kx60 people like 500 members
Did you use the original case bolts I know both motors I have the stator bolts and the bolts behind the stator were really stripped out and the water pump bolts as well

I got two kx60s one's the 92 and it needs a water pump and the other one is a 97 and it needs a complete rebuild it is a basket case but I cannot find any parts for them even use ... So they are for sale

Yes I did. I used an impact screw driver, but don’t do it too hard or it can strip
