It comes with 10 new forms, that is seprated from the updated Ultimate base skin. That can be bought separately up to $900 in total, or $600 in a bundle
I literally said this in the latin american Facebook group, "Arcane Season 2 is soon, if we say nothing about the 500 dollar Ahri Skin, they will make a 500 dollar Arcane Jinx skin because they know they can get away with it", they called me a Madman, and many months later, I was proven to be right.
Yeah, the issue is not really the prices but the people that buy the expensive gacha skins not understanding that they could buy it for way less if they just waited for a month or some more... just need riot to realize their skins are shit compared to their high prices
okay but I would forgive it maybe if it at least had different models( only powder model is deifferent) ...it literally has same hairstyles, same clothes, not even very different effects , no unique recalls on each form ( my god even Seraphine ultimate manages to do that) , no unique dances( and btw the dance emote that they did put there is super boring) she doesnt even change her weapons :D and overall it just seems like its not very nice to play with this , if I look for a Jinx skin then I want smooth kiting , this doesnt seem like that , if you want 250 dollars from me then this better be mindblowing
@@MrCornholio1812that’s the point brother. Some people dont want the skins to be accessible by others. They want to feel superior via having something that others dont have
Its made for the same new rich asian kids , buying pills made with platin and gold, eat and shit them out and let a butler grab them out of their shit, just because they can. They just want you to watch at something you will never have.
Thing is, in gacha games like Genshin you typically get premium currency just for playing (daily in small quantity, but it's something). Thanks to that you can save up pulls for something that you're interested in. That's why this pulling system works and makes sense there, but in League you can't obtain RP without paying, so im wondering who tf in Riot thought this system will be a great addition to their game.
Not just that from what I saw on the drop rates the chance of getting the jinx skin is lower than that of a premium character in gacha games like genshin essentially if genshin had those rates you’d need up to 200 to get the character. The issue is that riot gacha system isn’t regulated by SEA gacha laws which require rate consistency regardless of the games publisher. Meaning if riot wanted to give you the same odds as whether you could survive a direct nuclear blast or not they can do that with no legal backlash. Unless I’m wrong but I’ve heard of these laws being applied to western companies. Edit: Ok nvm they just made the gacha in general more expensive the rates are ok.
in genshin the gacha is actually directly tied to the progress you make in the game, so it makes sense that you can get more gachas by playing more. Skins in league are purely cosmetic and do not influence your progress in the game whatsoever, so it doesn't make sense to allow for rp farming by playing the game a lot, at last from a game design perspective. Another thing is, the whole point of making these expensive and tying them to a gacha system is creating artifical rarity. Like yeah, you can just get elementalist lux for 30 bucks, but because it is so cheap, it doesn't feel "special". This isn't to say that it is a pathetic cash grab on riots side, but it is actually quite hard to make a digital copy of sth feel special, if it is easily accessiable, it doesn't matter how cool the effects and the designs are, if everyone has access to it, it feels bland. I mean that's why skins are attractive in the first place, it isn't because the base skins of champions are boring form a design perspective, it is because everyone gets to play them with their base skin.
this is the worst part of the sanctum for me, I’ve played a lot of gacha games and I still enjoy them as (mostly) F2P but it’s ridiculous that riot is shopping this out without at least a FEW pulls for free in quests or something. if they don’t want to shove it in the battle pass they already have planned out, put it in quests. make it grindy that’s fine, most gacha games require grinds to get a lot anyway. I’m still sad they haven’t replaced prime capsules with anything else yet, getting free RP every month was nice. too nice, I guess.
Moreover i feel like its too late for such drastic changes in loot. I imagine most people like me got used to the current (mostly previous system), where you can get a skin, bad or not, for free just by playing and performing good. I imagine in a smaller game it could actually kill the playerbase because people would feel robbed after having free stuff for such a long time, but right now Riot knows they can get away with it. Im positive they are just testing how far they can push things in their stead, and i have a feeling that things will get even worse with time.
The Prices too, Genshin is like half the price for a pull, AUS $ would cost about $345 just for the jinx skin. Atleast the ahri skin (somewhat) made sense with it being limited time, but this is likely to have a rerun at some point
Calling it now. Riot will "vault" Elementalist Lux, then release an Exalted "Elementalist+ Lux" which is just an Elementalist Lux chroma with 1 new form (reusing spell effects from some other skin). All before ever doing an ASU for Lux of course.
ugh wait youre so right and its gonna be a gold form. elementalist lux has a bunch of voice lines about gold being the one element she hasnt achieved yet or something like that.
Oh don't forget, you don't actually "own" your skins, only a license to the skins. They could totally change them at any time and we wouldn't be able to do anything about it, even if we bought it.
And said ASU will suck ass . Im not the biggest lux fan but it would be a shame if they did the same that they did to my boy Viktor , who got absolutely slaughtered for no reason other than to make money
They won't vault the old skins that'll be stupid, but they might release "Ultimate +" versions that cost $100 and are upgraded versions of the ultimate skins.
But there is effort in the jinx skin. It looks cool and id buy it in a heartbeat.. for max 30€. Visually it can be on par with pulsefire ezreal and or sona. (Disregarding the ost) Otherwise it has some cool animations.
@@deadbymeme2311 no there isnt any effort there even if it was ultimate skin it still would be awful...on gun goddess miss fortune level ....literally :D those models are the same :D except powder I guess, no unique dances, no unique recalls...like what? This isnt ultimate skin level,
@ ezreal also has no different types of recalls. He just has one. Is the 250€ a cashgrab? Sure definitly overpriced. But id argue it is on an ultimate tier level, even if just miss fortune level. But one thing we can agree on: There is definitly no sane reason as to why they need an additional tier after ultimate.
the worst part about it is the fomo part, is such a horrible marketing tactic, a fuck you to everyone that gets into league in the future, and you should also be able to get every skin from rerolls, but they are getting rid of those too
@@asoret This, this right here. Just like they did with Prestige skins. They used to be "prestige" because they were, allegedly, special versions of released skins that were only obtainable during the event of said skin with the Pass. Then they changed it, you can get them from a shop that rotates (u don't even get to know when the skin u want returns) and you can even get them on chests, lol. I'm not complaining tho I can rarely afford passes, it just seems odd, right? So, you might be 100% right: eventually, they will make banner reruns.
I saved up and bought DJ Sona, who has 3 different forms, 3 different background songs that change and hit drops as you play, and unique particle effects. It wasn't 250$ with a nasty gatcha mechanic. And it's still awesome.
Jinx is the champion that got me into playing league and I have a lot of hours on her. So it hurts a lot to see Jinx be the culprit of corporate greed.
@ObviOneKenobi tbf if you yourself didn’t buy the skin then don’t feel bad. I main Lux and Senna and have all their skins but the day they get a $200 skin is the day I will no longer own all of their skins. Plus even tho everyone clowned the Ahri skin price they still sold around 500 of those skins in China iirc so regardless of what WE do they will always make money.
In genshin can instead get almost 20 pulls with blessing of the welkin moon which you receive over the course of 30 days, not including the free stuff for pulls. 10x more than this!
In genshins you're gambling/spending money on direct progression. In league the skins are purely cosmetic. So no this is NOWHERE near as bad as genshin.
@@homelesswizard3161 genshin is a type of game that is based around pulling(gacha game) and you can get basically anything without spending money, and you dont even fight other people(and the game is free). it's nowhere as predatory considering they have a lot of cheap options too if you want to buy something
Also not to get defensive about the glorified casinos I happen to play but actual gachas at least gives you a lot of free rolls and ways to obtain said free rolls. Riot won't do that.
Ancient spark should be, according to Riot, be available "for free" in Premium Battle Passes. But that doesnt change the fact that Riot is removing every Chance for players to get free shit like chest. First they fuckup the reward System for S plays and graduatly remove chests and bundles from Passes Just to funnel us into buying capsules for skins/chromas
In genshin if you grind for a few hours for a week you literally can save up like 10-15 pulls which guarantees a 4star item and maybe even a 5star - you get something good still no matter what and let’s not forget the pity system where if you pull enough times it’s guaranteed you’ll get a 5star. Riot could never
Most gachas don't even have FOMO pulls for SKINS. They mostly have pulls for character and some of them are very generous (like Azur Lane where I never spend anything and got Ultra Rare every event)
The problem isn't that it's just an expensive skin that's not worth the price. It's that these skins are becoming the new standard. We're probably not going to see any mythic quality skin for the mythic price anymore.
Yeah league was amazing for first 5 years. Beem downhill since. Less and less content per year. Down to 3 champs a year now. Still no new maps or rune system for years now
Started with selling League to Tencent, have a look at the other games from Tencent and their gatcha ;) It tells you how League will change in a few years.
i am just disappointed. if it was a legendary skin or an ultimate it would be a love letter to the players. arcane is done and here is a skin if you like it. the funny thing is that people compare it to kda seraphine and now call that a good skin. when it came out everyone thought the skin was bad and battle queen kata was even better. but what we all want is to go back to the time of elementalist lux. yes also on the pricey side but 9 skin in 1
The bar keeps going lower and lower, they can course correct but that is not going to happen so expect the arab king or the third world guy taking loans to finance the next noxus series
with the quality of the skin currently i would not even buy it as a legendary. This game is on a straight course downhill especially when talking about quality.
2:25 As a Jinx main at least personally this is not what I expected and wanted, I would've liked that Riot made an incredible skin that, just by seeing it, I would've felt like it was made with love for all Jinx mains but it's not. And even all of the other things that the other Jinx mains wanted and hoped that Riot would fix in this skin were not heard, I personally consider that this wasn't even made for us Jinx mains, I really think that if it had been for us they would've even paid attention to everything that we would like them to improve in it but they didn't. Of course with this price and method clearly this was made for the whales and nothing else, it is more than obvious. It hurts me that it was Jinx that they tried to do this crap with and, they even had the nerve to say that it was for the "die hard Jinx fans"
This skin is clearly aimed at the nutjobs that now hail Arcane as the god of all shows and never played the game, ive seen a disgusting ammount of people deepthroat the show even tho they dont play the game and most of them download league just to play their favorite Arcane rebrand of those champs. Those people will love the skin and since they got no experience prior to judge what a good skin should be they most likely might buy it. The show wasnt of my liking but i cant say it sucked but this is def not made with love for the jinx mains community, just to predate on whales that come from arcane ignorant about what the golden standard of the game used to be. This is even worse than nightbringer yasuo 250 euro chroma or ahris skin, i feel sorry for you
Now imagine, you’ve been playing the league since season 1, buying skins and then Arkeny comes out. You are a happy fan, you received a cool show (for which, by the way, you paid with a subscription to Netflix), then you received canonical skins in the form of a gift (not expensive, but priceless for many, and I would have bought them if they were on sale then, because these are skins for 975). Then you wait 2 years to watch season 2. It comes out, you're glad, the series ends. As a Jinx fan, you are incredibly glad that your character survived. Then R games says that there will be skins in honor of the series. And then, like a thunderstorm out of a clear sky, a HUGE SLAPP arrives in your face. You are told that you are not a "real fan". Because ONLY for real fans they will release a Jinx skin for $250. You are in shock and then you get another HUGE SLAP, because a beautiful Jinx skin is being released for the mobile League in the BATTLE pass with the canonical appearance in the hood.... I wish they at least had the classic arcane look or at least the first half of S2 look as one of the forms as I think thats the iconic jinx i picture. (I know she has the S1 free version but its on old model and voice). But on top of that its $250? I was tempted just cause i love Jinx, but i cant justify that at all lol.
28600 RP down and still haven't pulled it in PBE. Just 250 ME, a bunch of bs icons and emotes, not even every arcane skin and 2 chromas. Oh, and the profile banner. This is so great. Even if the price per pull would be reduced to 250 RP each it would make this so much better. Funny because their $200 Jinx statue/figurine is cheaper than this.
At least the figurine I can keep it in real life, the skin however If you get banned or the servers shut down, bye bye skin. Man, I miss the time when Riot was community driven and not that greedy as they are nowadays
@legend34885 people have been getting falsely banned left and right lately too because of Vanguard sooo.. yeah skin can be gone in a second without you doing anything wrong. If riot needs to make money somehow they should do the following: stop firing talented people and hire more staff (they had 2 layoffs in less than a year), plenty of people’s fan art and custom skins are higher quality than a lot of the content they release, but if they don’t want to accept the job because of the whole situation starting 5 years ago I believe (if you know you know) and up to the present it’s entirely up to them

You think.they give a rats ass about low income people. Its always about whales and chumps buying for e girls. Plus riots ownes by biggest gacha / greed enabling company and region there is.
The icing on the cake is that Riot didn't even need to do any of this. If this had just been a basic $20 legendary skin that you could buy at any time it would've still made Riot a crap-ton of money. Only Riot can have a good thing on their hands and still shit the bed.
Don't make me cryyyyy 😭 What could have been indeed! I honestly would be fine if they just repackaged the exisitng arcane skin she had with animations and voiceover and just sold it as a legendary. Would have bought it in an instant
The skin would be ever so slightly passable if it wasn't plastered on the literally *_ancient outdated 11-year-old Jinx model all the way from 2013..... yes guys we're that old now_* -it's hilarious to think that most if not all these arcane themed skins are actually just like *_purchasable visual updates for the champ (since majority of them wont likely ever see an actual visual update)_*
Ironically, it seems same thung happened with Vi, her previous colours on Arcane skin (before fix) literally made that skin look like an updated model instead of that goth rebel look. So I guess if you want better animations - pay up.
Remember OG Udyr? Spirit Guard was LITERALLY paid visual update, and the money was worth it. What's crazy is that after the visual update to the OG model they kept the Spirit Guard the same price.
Everything can rasily be explained with a single sentence...Riot stopped caring about the community, it is actually just that simple Also to anyone planing a Jinx boycot now, FUCKING DONT BECAUSE IT WILL CHANGE NOTHING, I already said that when the Ahri scam came out but perma banning a champ literally does fuck all since the skin was already bought, they dont care if it actually gets used. If you want to boycot something, BOYCOT THE GAME AS A WHOLE, we can reduce the number of skin already sold but we can reduce the active playercount, and if a massive exodus from the playerbase happens Riot HAS to adress it or they basically admit that they only care about whales who buy their overpriced dogshit. That is the only weapon the community has, if Riot wont listen to words they will need to answer to their numbers going down.
The thing that baffles me is that riot games would probably make way more money by selling it as an ultimate skin, yes it would bring less per buy, but objectively, there is way more people willing to buy à 40 dollar skin than à 250 dollar one, it's just common sense. But then again, they threw that in the gutter long ago.
Honestly the thing that annoys me worse. Is that this skin + viktors skins, are getting changes that are pretty significant to make them look better. But back when ashen knight pantheon was coming out, they said nothing could be done. And they didn't even alter it.
I get it, Im a degen gacha gamer and Im not here to defend these practices, but in most gacha games you at least have the option to farm the currency for free. Not only that, characters are usually either rerun or added to the permanent pool, so fomo is not as big of a deal. Not saying its good, but yk. Also take it from someone whos been doing this for years now dont delude yourself into thinking you might get it early, you wont.
Invalid argument. These games NEED to give you in game currency while playing because it's not just skins you get but characters that change the game. You also get blue essence while playing to buy champions. This would be the equivalent of it.

Gacha is not just a form of micro-transactions. It’s a tight combination of monetization, in-game economies, gameplay and frequent updates. These games are built to be played daily and kinda grindy. The main goal is for you to keep playing actually, not necessarily pay as playing more increases the chance that you might spent in the future. Devs let you earn pulls for the “gacha” in-game through constant free content updates so you can totally play f2p and get what you want with a little bit of playing and dedication. League has it worst tho. They didn’t get the memo that you need to build systems around the pulling mechanism so people would be willing to engage with it… But they didn’t. It’s either pay or get rekt kiddo which will drive some players away. Idk what they are smoking at riot but they are learning the wrong lessons from eastern devs.
I know this will sound paranoic, but I'd be willing to bet actual money that with how much backlash the entire system is getting, this skin (and only this skin) has it's chances MASSIVELY boosted internally (I mean secretly, without the real chance percentages showing anywhere), so that a lot of people hit it with the "free" pulls that they are gonna give with the pass and get hooked on the sanctum gambling.
it was even made cheaper, and that awesome skin had a theme, special animations and several different forms. And then we have the legendary skin for Katarina where you can swap to different daggers...
What really gets me is the 30 day time limit. Without that one could have a healthy relationship with it, toss 10$ into it a month, see what they get, eventually they'll get the big reward. But the fomo element forces you to go all or nothing. Plus are we getting no free rolls whatsoever? Not even a guise of being able to get something cool for grinding 500 hours, just straight up drop 30$ in hopes of getting a 16$ skin with a VERY small chance of getting a discount?? The 90% drops being icons and emotes is also disheartening, who wants to spend money on that?
they guys who say "you get ton of other stuff for those 250 bucks not only the skin" yeah ... ugly non animated sticker/emotes are definitely worth 8 dollar each -_- as a jinx fan i will not buy this skin.
You know its a bad day when you make G.G. fortune look good by comparison, what was essentially the "bad" ultimate skin because of how little it gave you compared to others
The main problem is that the gacha currency is not obtainable in any way for free, which literally every gacha game does to keep players interested. If they gave say 10 pulls per split that would be okay because at the end of the day it's a cosmetic. I personally don't really care even if one day they release a gacha skin for my main because I end up using the same 2 1350rp skins with chromas anyway, but coming from multiple gacha games its shocking how much riot missed the mark here
One thing I realized, tencent is doing the same thing in pokemon unite with a gacha system for a skin but worse because an extra layer of rng is put in along with timers that are unbearable that you have to spend money to unlock for a chance. If that's not foreboding then I don't know what is.
This is what you people get for saying "well you don't have to buy it. It's just a couple skins. It's their choice to buy it." Should've been angrier. Now they get away with anything
I went into a beginner bot lobby to test out a character I just got yesterday, and ran into someone with this skin and the finisher. Idk if they just got lucky with the gatcha, but damn that finisher definitely doesn’t feel like it’s worth the essence.
The Marketing team at Riot does not care at all, do they? What's really scary about this is that it's very concerning how will future Legendary, Epic and Ultimate skins even deliver. Because if this Jinx skin is considered to be worth 300$, then Riot will likely start to drop the quality of their less expensive skins, in order to get more sales on the really expensive ones. Why bother investing time and money into delivering skins of the same quality as a 300$ skin for a much lesser price? Calling it right now, if Riot keeps this shit up, League will lose its loyal player base in the next 6 years.
They've been doing this for some time now. Lots of skins are reusing the base movement, have less voicelines and have some lazy ass homeguard (the speed up you get when you are leaving the base). Heck, EVEN THE RECENT VGUs just steal assets from the older legendary skins (Ahri's E is Star Guardian E, her animation when getting still is the same as Spirit Blossom and so on...) And if you remember there was the hole Rakan and Xayah stuff (making joined recalls is too much work)
@Angelica-sq9lh well it's been a short while coming, but I agree. The marketing team at Riot is slowly killing the game. Like Elementalist Lux was considered an incredibly good investment because it offered so much variety. Nowadays ultimate skins just seem to be Legendary skins with just some additional details (Soul Fighter Samira is a prime example). Like I get it, it's business, but this is just a moba - no amount of quality put into a skin or chroma will justify a 250$ or 500$ price. Riot's business model is slowly heading towards a "whale exclusive" one, and that is 100% going to kill the game sooner or later. New champion releases no longer spark interest, and new skin additions are so frequent nobody even notices anymore. League has lost its "magic" in terms of content release, so now Riot tries to make up for it with very pricey skins...
honestly i'm surprised riot isn't worried at ALL about that last thing you said; they've already lost a shitton of players worlwide/serverwide thanks to vanguard, you'd expect them to be more concerned about their current players and possible newbies but no, they really just want to kill off their game and don't know how anymore
@@miarezzz My theory is that Riot is kind of expecting League to die soon. They don't want to beat around the bush with updates that could POSSIBLY extend the game's lifespan, so they just go ham now on their prices in order to hopefully gain as much as possible, while League is still going. Like I don't see why else would Riot do this, other than they are forecasting the game's possible end, which is drawing relatively close. It's an old MOBA after all, and Riot will slowly running out of ideas as to what new content they can bring.
Just so yall are aware. Recently raid shadow legends (yes) used the same idea of *mythicals* which ALSO have form changes. These also happen to have an absurdly low chance of dropping. Why does this sound familiar…
I can’t believe we let game publishers brainwash us into thinking ”it’s just cosmetic ! It’s fiiine.” Back in the day, if I saw someone using a rare weapon with cool particle effects in an MMO, it was because they beat a hard raid several times. In the halo days, some guy with a specific helmet meant they had beat the campaign on legendary difficulty. Those cosmetics struck fear into me when facing someone who had them, and I was in awe of teammates who had them. They motivated me to improve so one day I could get them myself. The only thing I learn from someone using cosmetics nowadays is how much disposable income they’re willing to burn to make our hobby worse, just so they can set themselves appart... but then Riot managed to push everyone into buying useless skins instead of actual content, so just having *a* skin wasn’t enough anymore since everybody had them. Then, these idiots started buying more expensive skins, so Riot execs could buy another yacht while their employees are paid a smidge above minimum wage and keep getting fired for making the actual game you enjoy. Cosmetics now don’t inspire anything positive. And no, ”they’re free-to-play, so they must make their money SOMEHOW” isn’t an excuse. Nobody put a gun to their head and forced them to go F2P. In fact, League was famously ignored by publishers early on because the business model wasn’t proven in the US market at the time. LoL is the reason this bullshit spread here in the first place.
This video reminded me that Arcane Jinx is also a 975RP skin that changes so little of her model that when I first saw it, I thought that Jinx itself got a visual update.
As a Jinx one trick since 2016, I'm so incredibly dissapointed that Arcane couldn't even be bothered to give Jinx a decent skin that anyone can use. I was really hoping they'd give her a Mythic or Legendary skin. But something like this is literally just a fuck you to anyone who's not dumb enough to fall for this predatory cash grab.
to be fair this is not as bad as some other game companies advertise their lootbox/gacha mechanics. At least they let you know what are the % chances of getting stuff, unlike some other MMO games I played.
A very old and scummy gacha. That monetization system has been well oiled over the years to make it as tolerable as possible while maximizing profit. Meanwhile Riot over there is just hammering ridiculous prices on their players hoping that a few idiots will actually pay up.
If Elementalist Lux released today you'd have to pull the gatcha lever enough times to collect all "shards" each representing one element and only if you got them all you get Elementalist lux (no duplication protection)
This is worst than genshin or mihoyo greed btw, if you want to guarantee a character in a hoyo game it's like around 80$, which is already horrible, but nowhere near 200$, riot is somehow thwarting mihoyo as the greediest gaming company I've ever experienced
@@karenwang313 oh, true, it's the same for hsr, I guess I just saw the amount wrong or remembered it wrong, still, at least in genshin/hsr you can get pulls for free
even games like Housamo, Zenless Zone Zero, or Fire Emblem Heroes have their gacha system in it's own section next to the shop section to buy the items to spend on the gacha. But also, the gacha from Wild Drift has it's placed on the shop section and not placed somewhere, which makes more sense to place it next to the shop section or even make it part of the shop it self and not on and unreleated section to spend money on like on the crafting section or something.
I'm still waiting for a banger tweet to pop up on my feed where a person bought the Ahri and jinx skin saying they got banned for being toxic and Riot won't reinstate their account only for them to realize finally they lost all that money on a terrible skins 😂 Riot made profit, they dont care if you get banned or not aslong as you buy the terrible skins
Why? Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of this system or gambling in general, I won't try to get it a single time, but why does it hurt so much if you see someone with it? You know, slagging off someone only because of that doesn't really help with the state of the community. I gave the game a 1 year holiday, I was a bit burned out and I had less time, so I wanted to spend my gaming hours on more relaxing games. After Arcane S2 I returned recently, and I almost had the time of my life in terms of gaming, it is great to be back, but the toxicity is heavily tainting the experience, and you guys are not helping. Can I ask how old the 2 of you are?
@@staLkerhu for your knowledge its called "painting target on your back", "boycotting", its not limited to age. Buyers know that comunity hates it and riot will relase more of the slop if they buy it, they know comunity gonna target them. Boycotters know that if they bully the buyers noone would want to buy it changing the system.
@@ratas258 last time I checked "boycotting " something did not include slagging off "supporters". This is a simple minded approach. By the way I don't think someone who wanted to get that skin is necessarily a supporter. I mean, sure he/she paid the system, but it does not mean that individual likes the system. I wholeheartedly hate our government, but paying my taxes does not mean I want to support them in any shape or form... 🤦♂ If you think this is the case, then you can get my middle finger as an answer!
@@staLkerhu paying 250$€£ for no quality chroma pixels is compared to paying (mandatorish) taxes. Nah bro im out. Also hope you dont accidentally?? buy it (not because you support it) and then get greifed.
7:58 Dragon City is improving on these things, riot going 50 steps backwards on how to make the game not work and just not fun to even start... (Would you spend 2$ in Dragon City to get more items to improve on the recourses-optional,or spend 250$ or something that isn't even worth the price)
Also another huge problem with this is that the sanctum doesn’t give you other skin shards unlike rolling for skins in the past, now all you get is an icon or 5 mythic which is just awful.
I dropped GI because the developers became lazy but this isn't GI levels of greed ,because realistically you can get whatever you want in those games without spending money, unless you get greedy and want too much at once. I can't imagine a person actively working towards getting this skin free to play by just playing, unless you get insanely lucky, so saying it's on the same level would be even unfair towards most gacha games.
One more thing people seem to not notice are the sparks itself, you don't get even a single one for free in the new Battle Pass system, which is crazy to me. I know it's gatcha, but every single game like that at least gives you a "pull" for free, so you can save them and use later on, but not here, like wtf.
The first time they released "exclusive" skins (og mythic) they ended up rereleasing them all again 3-4 years later, and now are on frequent shop rotation
Man, i can still remember it, how 7 years ago my friends joked about my financially bad decision to buy spirit guard udyr, which costed at that time the equivalent of 25€ in RP. I wanna go back to 2017.
For me this is much more predatory than garena’s practices, i mean garena also did these but much more forgiving and very very cheap i guarantee . Plus the top up bonus you get everytime there are events or special holidays for example i live here in the philippines and there is christmas they give out 100% top up bonus example i top up 1000php garena shell/rp i get double it becomes 2000 sometimes on big events like when garena was going away they gave out 300% bonus like wtf and there was also an event where you can get all past prestige before the migration to riot for cheap asf like now i rarely buy stuff here on league not like what it used to be for more context ill add more if needed
As an aside, I am an Arcane fan first and specifically a Jinx fan having only ever been Jinx main in the little time I did play league back in the olden days and while I don't find it surprising she is being used as the harpoon to hunt whales, given her popularity on Arcane specifically, am I the only one that finds it a little, off? I find mixing the seriousness of Arcane Jinx with her much more, slap stick league counterpart kind of undermines the appeal for me a bit. I find it a bit sacrilegious (for lack of a better term) seeing S2 A3 Jinx being all like, thrilled and over the top with a kind of wild cartooney aesthetic. The appeal to me would be a more just, flat representation of that I suppose, though who knows if I am an outlier. I found the new Arcane skin in wild rift to be, fine? (and more appealing in general terms). Likely down to the modern engine on that and such, who knows. Also, shouldn't we not be able to see the shoulder mount when she is shouldering fishbones? instead the head just rotates and she moves it to her opposite shoulder? I guess that's down to having to keep the same static poses for the modes. I suppose minor details. But for 250 those minor details better be fucking perfect.
Tbh, Arcane Jinx and LoL Jinx are so different I consider them 2 different characters. Im a Jinx main and I still prefer original Jinx, cause she's funny. But it makes sense nowadays, because Riot has stated that Arcane is canon now(nevermind this massive retcon btw), so the Old Jinx doesn't exist anymore in canon. I also don't find this "new Jinx" appealing but unfortunately I am in the minority I believe
@@legend34885 I can understand that. I find that "canon" doesn't really have the strongest implications when it is applied and created or destroyed without any particular direction or effect. It is my estimation that the best thing for everyone would be for them to decanonize league and arcane, and just like them do their own things and have Runeterra be a setting or a backdrop for such things to function and be able to interact or connect. But who knows.
@@Yrilyth I like your approach on this, that could be a good idea since Riot themselves doesn’t seem to care about canon anyway. Personally, I would prefer if they did not make Arcane canon and just sticked with the old lore(like Marvel comics and MCU), but your idea could work better in the long run because it would give freedom for a lot of writer’s interpretations on different characters and even regions. I mean, Summoners Rift in itself is not canon anyway, and different AUs can interact with one another there(for example, Odyssey AU and Project AU). The only problem is that Riot has a pretty bad reputation with lore consistency, and unfortunately I don’t see them investing money and resources for different media, especially after the multiple layoffs, the termination of Riot Forge and LoR situation.
Remember when 10 years ago they released DJ Sona which was 3 skins in one and it only cost 3250 RP? Remember when they released KDA All Out Seraphine which was 3 skins in one and it only cost 3250 RP?
you can buy an "exalted" level cosmetic item in dota 2 for 20$ (or less if you buy it from the community market) in the way of Arcanas. they change animations, abilities, voice lines and even add stat trackers and kill effects. no gacha shit involved.
Hey remember when Jinx was released originally (2013) and they had to change the model because she had normal pink skin instead of the pale skin she clearly had in the Splash art. Oh remember when Gangplank got updated lore and the new lore skin was given for free to people who had GP and did a quest, and you kept the old skin if you had it. I remember.
there was a bug , where it let you buy a pull for 100 rp instead of 400 because of this bundle with an icon , i think it was made to just incentivize to try it , well it let me buy the bundle over and over again , so for 1000 rp i got arcane survivor jayce , 90 mythig essence and jinx banner so it was okay
Hey does anyone remember when you could just buy skins with RP? And then they added chromas you could also buy for less rp than the skin? God I miss those times.
I think its sad too the border is only available in the sanctum too, its the only thing I want to get from the event tbh but even that is behind a gacha system which sucks. Let us learn the sparks for free as well and then see how different people's opinion changes.
I would take jinx over the jhin chroma anyday. I got every single arcane skin in my pulls along with mythic essence and chromas, thats much better than 1 chroma. same with ahri £500 just for the skin. atleast with this you get more worth for the money you spend.
1:20 yea genshin. but a more apt comparison will be MLBB. MLBB copies LoL's best features and characters' skills, while LoL copies the worst aspects of MLBB like the skin gacha system
Holy shit, the worst thing about this is the default sanctum opening under crafting combined with the fact you can't disable the annoying animation. They are really pushing the border here
The new Sett one that's on PBE rn has at least one fresh point, and that is that his transformation is upgraded and spent based on how much grit he has used in the game. The skin looks very nice, and the various forms he takes look really good in terms of form and color palette, but the fact that it took a second exalted for riot to introduce something completely new and unique to the also "completely new and unique" skin tier is well... hmmmm. Honestly, this jinx skin is just an ultimate, and the samira one that was also super controversial should've been a legendary lol

They want to feel superior via having something that others dont have

it doesn't matter east asia loved the ahri skin. Western audiences are mad but they will sell elsewhere every time
Thing is, in gacha games like Genshin you typically get premium currency just for playing (daily in small quantity, but it's something).
And it'll cost 1000$ dollars cause the 10 year old skin is better quality than this Jinx one
It feels like there was originally gonna be a pentakill animation but they couldn't ship it in time and went "eh fuck it just release it as is"

Riot could never
Most gachas don't even have FOMO pulls for SKINS. They mostly have pulls for character and some of them are very generous (like Azur Lane where I never spend anything and got Ultra Rare every event)

only people on the not so bright side believe something like that. It is not like Riot is known for saying the truth lul
I don't get why they are so aggressive with the prices. I guess it is because NA/EU is shrinking while Asia where these skins get bought cause they are prestige objects there, they make more of them
Remember arcane season 1 when you got the skins for free?
Tbh they are like 520 RP skins. Just go take a look at Arcane Jinx's face model.
It baffles me that their mobile game Wild Rift has better looking models. Some things aren't just about the engine.
I will not accept this genshin slander , at this point even genshin is less greedy than riot
not to mention since getting a new ceo, genshin has given so much free stuff this year (character and tones more free pulls and content per patch). This is something beyond any gacha game at this point, should be hosting it on stake soon the way its going lmao
exactly, genshin gives u 80-100 pulls every patch for free, when does riot ever give RP for free lol.
for real, I'm a free to play Genshin player and I'm very happy ^^
Thank you for reflecting on “not real fans” because if you don’t have money, then you are NOBODY
Oh and those 975 skins from 2 years ago were free if you played during that time btw.
Jinx is implied to have lived and probably did but is supposed to be dead.
also as i understand - there's no way to get ancient sparks for free 💀 yes they said it would be in the battle pass. But only after you buy it
we should’ve gotten 10 free sparks with the release of the sanctum or something.. it’s not much but nowhere near 80 and it might help people save up
@imveryanxious YES
Didn't think it was possible to make the client even worse
Yet again, my expectations have been subverted
Let's go back to Adobe Air, it was less cancer.
Now I understand ... They closed Garena so they could take over this gambling market
I live in Argentina and with taxes this skin costs 419k, minimum wage being 271k, crazy stuff
Jesus Christ
You think.they give a rats ass about low income people.
Its always about whales and chumps buying for e girls.
Plus riots ownes by biggest gacha / greed enabling company and region there is.
In Brazil, minimum wage is around R$1400 while this skin costs around R$900. Not as bad, but still. Riot just got too greedy it's nuts.
The icing on the cake is that Riot didn't even need to do any of this. If this had just been a basic $20 legendary skin that you could buy at any time it would've still made Riot a crap-ton of money. Only Riot can have a good thing on their hands and still shit the bed.
They ruined so much goodwill with this. God. Damn. Coulda had it all and the fans in their hands. What could have been, dude.
Its a completely new model which you can tell from the face rig. It's just really janky and lanky.
0:55 it looked like you were in a mobile game ad
Everything can rasily be explained with a single sentence...Riot stopped caring about the community, it is actually just that simple
Also to anyone planing a Jinx boycot now, FUCKING DONT BECAUSE IT WILL CHANGE NOTHING, I already said that when the Ahri scam came out but perma banning a champ literally does fuck all since the skin was already bought, they dont care if it actually gets used.
Tencent focus on wild rift now... League is just here for money, they fired so many artist, less content every years and now 250 scam shit
TENCENT bought riot. This chinses compagny wants you to believe riot is the culprit... TENCENT IS RESPONSIBLE.
Honestly the thing that annoys me worse. Is that this skin + viktors skins, are getting changes that are pretty significant to make them look better. But back when ashen knight pantheon was coming out, they said nothing could be done. And they didn't even alter it.
When Jinx walks with the minigun, it looks like Tristana carrying "Boomer" her gun
The number of people I played against with zero jinx mastery that had this skin is absurd.

Gacha is by far the worst form of "micro"-transactions
nah it fine since you can get shit for Free, but pay for gacha roll with o.5% lol

That's extremely illegal in my country.
you mean ppl get obsessed with it and need to get to a therapist bc of gambling crime? I agree xD
Is funny to remember that ppl complained about Gun Goddess Miss Fortune saying it wasn't as good as other ultimates.
How naive and innocent we were.

The fact that this disgusting gacha system will also replace slowly skin rerolls, mastery chest, and pass token
Boy do i love how the Jinx ASU is being sold via gacha instead of just being released for everyone so she doesnt run around with a decade old Model.
Heck, EVEN THE RECENT VGUs just steal assets from the older legendary skins (Ahri's E is Star Guardian E, her animation when getting still is the same as Spirit Blossom and so on...)
And if you remember there was the hole Rakan and Xayah stuff (making joined recalls is too much work)
@Angelica-sq9lh well it's been a short while coming, but I agree.
It’s fiiine.”
Back in the day, if I saw someone using a rare weapon with cool particle effects in an MMO, it was because they beat a hard raid several times.

My philosophy as well.
You can't get RP by playing so no you can not get it for free no matter how lucky you are
@kainakrit9311 true lol thought they might give some on events, but like ... common ...
One more thing people seem to not notice are the sparks itself, you don't get even a single one for free in the new Battle Pass system, which is crazy to me. I know it's gatcha, but every single game like that at least gives you a "pull" for free, so you can save them and use later on, but not here, like wtf.
Not only are they selling Jinx's canon appearance but they're also selling it for an absorbant
The only special thing about this skin is the amount of voice lines, which used to be a regular thing.
Crazy how you can buy a real lfie 1/7 scale statue of this version of Jinx for less than the in-game skin
legit add the finisher to it and the pentakaill effect + cool ui for the skill bars/hp, boom already better
It's even funnier because not you won't even find loot anymore
I don't understand the logic behind firing skin designers and then charging skins for $250
As an aside, I am an Arcane fan first and specifically a Jinx fan having only ever been Jinx main in the little time I did play league back in the olden days and while I don't find it surprising she is being used as the harpoon to hunt whales, given her popularity on Arcane specifically, am I the only one that finds it a little, off?
Remember when 10 years ago they released DJ Sona which was 3 skins in one and it only cost 3250 RP?

you can buy an "exalted" level cosmetic item in dota 2 for 20$ (or less if you buy it from the community market) in the way of Arcanas. they change animations, abilities, voice lines and even add stat trackers and kill effects. no gacha shit involved.
League of Legends has changed man, old Riot Games would never ever do this
1:20 yea genshin. but a more apt comparison will be MLBB.
I think it's wild that literal gatchas don't even have limited FOMO skins that you have to pull for and they are gone forever after the event
