Haha cheers mate. It was so much fun meeting up with Weka. Taste wise the wild oysters are probably not much different from farmed oysters. But if you buy them from the shop you never know how fresh they are. We bought some Oysters from the Ohiwa Oyster Farm. They were good but it's so much more satisfying to collect them, shuck them and eat them fresh from their shells :)

cooked oysters aren't quite as good as fresh. We orders some oysters from an oyster farm the other day, thinking they were fresh oysters but they served them deep fried instead. That was a bit disappointing :) Can't beat fresh with lemon, yum
Wow you guys keep it reel and soild I'm from taupo and got batch up the cormandel matarangi I get oysters same way it's fun getting them in the mud I think mine the same ish size but some not plump and fat but tasty thanks Craig living the dream up the cormandel
