    This video excites me so much. Chronic stress from a prior job caused a whole host of metabolic issues, visceral fat, inflammation, hypertension, some nerve issues and unusual depression and brain fog. I even ended up with Bell's Palsey where half of my face was paralyzed for 1 month! The doctor just said the Bell's Palsey was from a virus that was laying dormant but never said what caused the virus to come out. I figured it was because the chronic stress may have caused inflammation lowered my immune system allowing viruses to come out of dormant. GP doctor just said it's stress and prescribed me anti-depressants. I knew it had to somthing else so I had to do my own research. I decided to put myself on a strict anti-inflammatory diet and supplemented for nerve health. I started noticing symptoms getting better within 1 month. Been fine for 2 years now.

    ditching all grain, sugar and processed food was the best thing I ever did. All my carbs now come from different varieties of sweet potato and squash. Eat meat, fish, eggs, nuts and veggies too- all single ingredient foods I cook myself. Arthritis gone in a week, dropped 40lbs in 2 months, doing workouts (running and lifting) I couldn't do in my 20s.
    The amazing thing going to a whole food diet is the amount I eat- 4000+ calories a day to keep myself at 150lbs. Granted I run and lift most mornings, but I used to try starving myself on a grain based/processed food diet and was 40lbs heavier eating half as much. Now I shovel food in my face all day just to keep from losing, trying to bulk a bit and add more lean mass has turned into full time eating.

      @@eddieteabagify most days I'm in excess of 4000-4500. Typical day is:
      2 cups black coffee and 3 heaping tbsp peanutbutter (to keep stomach from being acidic during workout after black coffee) >240 calories depending on how "heaping"
      Workout (10K run) and 25-30 minutes lifting and calisthenics.
      Post workout - 4 free range eggs scrambled in kerrygold butter -300 calories
      2 servings pistachios on way to work - 320 calories
      10AM snack- 4 slices sheepsmilk manchego cheese- 200 calories, 1 epic provisions bar (venison/beef/chicken/bison) 120 calories
      Lunch- 1/2Lb ground beef or 1lb ground turkey sauteed with cumin, tomato paste, sliced olives, feta cheese, sour cream or a couple fried eggs on top & 1/2 a Japanese sweet potato or butternut squash ~850-950 calories
      ~2:30PM snack - bag of salted peanuts 320 calories
      Dinner- grilled 10 oz grassfed ribeye or 1+ lbs of haddock with cream/cheese sauce, 3/4lb sweet potato or butternut squash with alot of butter, steamed veggie (asparagus/broccoli, green beans etc...) and a large mixed salad with avocado, peccorino cheese, olives and olive or avocado oil dressing - ~1450-1650 calories
      If my weight has been dropping or steady the past couple days I add in a pint of keto ice cream for desert (650-900 calories depending on the flavor).
      Also have the occasional quest bar or protein shake or some more nuts/snacking thrown in here and there- sometimes wake up hungry at 1AM and have to have a bar or some peanut butter before going back to bed so a lot of days I'm probably close to 5K alot of days but it probably averages out to somewhere around 4200-4500 calories a day.
      Eating this way habitually the past 4 months I've slowly crept from 147ish to about 152lbs but some of that may be from adding creatine recently too. I was trying to do whole foods only but kept losing weight so I added in the quest bars, extra peanut butter, and keto icecream in an effort to bulk, shooting for 160-165lbs at 10%BF as my goal.

    Another reason why your body builds up visceral fat as you become older, is because your bodies hormone production decreases which leads to a loss of muscle mass. This loss of muscle mass (or gaps in the muscle) is replaced by visceral fat.

    • @anarosagratitude

      So the monetary value for a DEXA scan would be way cheaper than an MRI and the information from each one would be different as well. You could get by doing your own research in your area on clinics and hospitals an MRI of the upper abdomen without intravenous contrast for around $500. Remember, you won’t have to repeat this too soon as you want to implement this strategies from Dr. Sean OMara, and wait for your body to heal and see the results daily by commitment and consistency and later on repeat the MRI maybe in a year.
      The DEXA scan, gives you information about the whole fat in your body with no discrimination, it is really good to tell you about your muscle mass, however, does not demonstrate fatty replacement in the muscles and it is also great to evaluate for bone mass, which is so important when we are aging to avoid fractures and definitely walking in strength training improves your bone density as well with sunshine and normal levels of vitamin D, three and calcium
      The MRI would give you since engagement through your vision
      You will be able to see the amount of VF you have and also the deep subcutaneous fat, separated from the superficial subcutaneous fat and also the fats surrounding your heart in your lower chest and additionally to look for fat, replacing your muscles, and also evaluating the structures in your abdomen, your liver, and possible fatty liver, your pain is impossible fat in your pancreas, and everything else which would come in the report of the Radiologist
      Unfortunately, the report might not say anything about VF yet, however I am planning on doing additional videos on that and also you can find very knowledgeable and amazing and useful information on Sean OMara,, TH-cam videos, podcast, Instagram, and by contacting him as well
      My intention is that we are all going to be a voice spreading for health and getting more and more physicians involved in optimizing protocols and finally getting insurance and the government and all the important people involved as well to make it affordable for everybody

    Fascinating. I ran a marathon a couple years ago. You do train more of your slow twitch muscle for sure, but also cross train and strength train. You also eat more carbs. I could only go 13-14 miles before I really felt I needed to refuel. With marathon running, it's recommended to consume about 20 gms carbs for every hour of running.
    This also really hits home just how much diet plays a role. I could have moderate or severe fat despite the hundreds of lunges, weighted squats, despite the hours of core body exercises, despite the dozens of miles run and cycled each week. A bit depressing and hope sucking too.

    I understand that an MRI or CT scan is good for showing Visceral Fat, however these scans are not easily available and prohibitively expensive for many people, so my question is about other ways of detecting Visceral Fat, for example what about ultrasound scan, because ultrasound scans are far cheaper and readily available!

    • @anarosagratitude
      @anarosagratitude 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A radiologist becoming aware of VF could describe it in any kind of scan. US definitely shows it. And I am using it in my patients. However, the value of the MRI with no contrast or radiation is that it would be safe, as ultrasound is. But the patient would “see” the VF inside the abdomen, the fat around the heart and in the muscles, the liver and the pancreas. Not only a report from the radiologist. But literally see it and engage with the body senses in a more effective way to take action. Which is what I am sharing in my own journey of reversing my own VF. Come with me. On my Instagram. 🙏🏻

    I don’t have money for an MRI but I think a safe bet would be to work on building muscle while reducing the actions and foods that increase visceral fat anyway. Why not?

      Absolutely. Strategies to keep optimizing your body.
      An MRI could be 500 dollars with good research on your local hospitals/ clinics.
      You could always save some money little by little and get the mri later on and check your results. I would love to look at your images for you.
      How much could you save per week or per month so you could plan and schedule your
      MRI in the next 6 months or a year? Just a thought. 🙏🏻

    You might be avoiding ionizing radiation and contrast but I wonder about the effects of the strong magnetic and electrical fields from an MRI. We’re electromagnetic beings also.

    • @anarosagratitude
      @anarosagratitude 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Indeed we are. And this fact is what allow the MRI to get the images captured and recorded. I guess as a doctor I would say that MRI gas been used for a long time with no damaging effects documented when done without contrast, hence it is done for fetal MRI in pregnant woman.
      On the other hand, chronic accumulation of VF in our bodies is definitely damaging and inflammation driven. I can say from my own experience. And improving daily by the strategies for optimal health. 😊

    Big pharma controls the media and several countries, that is my observation.
    My bmi was excellent and then I ended up in the CCU. I use to walk / swim a lot and eat really healthy. But the bad fat is in there. Now I eat a soaked chia,pumpkin,dried cherries, hemp, flax & sesame bowl and add flax milk every morning and started strength training and no alcohol. I just started 2 weeks ago, so I will retest my visceral fat in 3 months.
    I think the visceral fat was from my life through age of 20-50 and thinking red wine & lattes were good for me and grains😮, sorry but there not!
    After 4 days in the CCU, I figured that walking / swimming isn’t enough. Weight training is the key! I still walk but that’s for the dog, now.
    I am 5’8 and 125 but have high visceral fat plaque. Yuck
    That you for your video. How do we get in touch with the doctor?

    Can we get a full body dexa scan instead of the MRI? It’s much cheaper.

    • @anarosagratitude
      @anarosagratitude 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The dexa scan evaluates the whole amount of fat in your body. It does not fully discriminate VF. It also talks about your lean muscle mass and bone mass. The bioimpedance gives you an average of the VF amount. The MRI allows you to really see the VF within your belly/abdomen. It really engages you to work on reversing it better. As you see the real amount of it. And in addition allows you to evaluate organs for fat in the liver and pancreas and also in the muscles. 😊
